It was a bit risky hiring someone with zero online reviews, however, after doing a bit of research, I thought that the both the experience and the credentials for the principle engineer, Mahsa Azad, were impressive, so we decided to contact them through Yelp. They were immediately responsive and we were able to arrange for their field engineer-in-training and construction manager Arman Tajarrod to do a home visit within days. Arman was extremely professional, conscientious and thorough as well as a really nice guy, making him a real pleasure to work with. Like the principle Mahsa, Arman's experience and training are equally impressive. The entire process was laid out for us so we knew exactly what to expect at every stage. Our plans were prepared and we submitted the drawings to the city with zero problems. During construction a couple of issues came up that were not anticipated because they weren't revealed until after the foundation and the ceiling were excavated, however, Arman was immediately responsive, updated our plans and provided us with a clear path forward. City inspections went smoothly and that particular stage of construction was approved. Their prices are competitive and I honestly liked the idea of working with a woman-owned firm. Even when wanted and planned for, construction on one's house can still be extremely stressful. Azad Engineering made the entire process of working with them easy and my husband and I couldn't be happier. We still have some projects in store for us in the future, but we'll definitely be working with Azad again.
