    Great subs!

Great little sandwich shop inside a liquor store. Sandwiches were piled high and delicious. Ate them on the patio outside. Nice guys serving it up.

They are very generous with their deli meats. Their menu has many options: salads, hot sandwiches, cold sandwiches, and DIY. The deli shop is tucked away inside of a liquor store. However, they do have a patio where you can wait for your order and eat. I ordered their CALI CLUB *#1 COLD* cold sandwich. So delicious!! Excited to come back and try other sandwiches.

This place does not slip on quality. The owner is a great guy and their sandwiches are even better

My favorite Deli in San Diego! My favorite is the Chicken Bacon Ranch wrapped in a tortilla. They have a wide variety of hot and cold sandwiches. You truly can't go wrong with anything. The deli is connected to the liquor store so the shop has whatever you need for lunch. The customer service is awesome. They always are kind and welcoming. The shop just has a warm family vibe that also keeps me coming back

I called in for pick-up order, you can also order online. Easygoing and direct service :) I got the Chicken Pesto (hot sandwich) w/ regular white bread roll. I think I was expecting more pesto...that's honestly what this was missing. Chicken tasted unseasoned, lots of spinach which I appreciate, bread toasted perfectly! There's also tomato & cheese. With these components, the pesto really could have saved this but it didn't. I think it's what I ordered though, I'd probably come back to try their other sandwiches. Other delis have my heart for now

    Smokehouse SMOKE-HOUSE SUB

I stopped by here today and I'm so glad I did. I ordered the Smokehouse Sub on an onion roll for myself and the Cali Club on sliced bread for my husband and both sandwiches were delicious. I knew I was in the right place when I smelled the bacon cooking for our sandwiches. The ingredients are fresh and the portion size is generous. I had the pasta salad and that was good as well. The service was great. Both of the guys working in the store were friendly. The guy working at the deli was helpful and offered suggestions. I will definitely be back.

Ok, this place gets busy for lunch everyday! Expect to wait! Didn't know what to expect the first few times I tried to order from here. Geezy! If it's your first time here and you want that sandwich or wrap instantly at lunchtime, not going to happen! Just setting up expectations here. You can easily access their menu online which is great. I think you can also order online too, but I've never done that. I've only called in my orders. The line can also get busy and sometimes you can't get through. Ugh! If you wait after the lunchtime rush, you can still expect about a 20 min wait to get your order. At lunchtime you can expect to wait over an hour! Holy, I can't! Part of a liquor store. Parking is small. Not super staffed so be patient. They're making sandwiches! Not open on Sundays. The first time I tried calling in an order, I can literally hear insanity happening in the background! My go to order is the chicken pesto, no tomato, I don't like things getting soggy from a tomato and add avocado on a spinach wrap. It's pretty good, and they don't skip in the chicken! I get there and pay and still wait... he says it's coming out of the oven. There's a patio outside and check in on Yelp. You get a free can of soda! Well that's nice! They also have a stamp card, so after your 10th sandwich, you get the next one for free. 2024: 30

Loaded Veggie, add turkey, fresh and delicious!
    Carli S.

These sandwiches are straight up delicious. The Italian sub was 10/10 decadent, savory, delicious, from the crunchy roll to the meats, cheeses, fillings and spread, perfection. We also got a veggie with added turkey, super fresh and crunchy, also a winner. Comes with a little pickle, and sport peppers. Located in a liquor shop, this is the cute deli shop like the good old days, all boars head, all freshly sliced. Can't wait to come back! - We were here at 10 am when they opened and there were 2 people ordering right behind us, this place is most likely crazy busy at lunch. Good for them!

Big Boy club on Onion Roll
    Kevin T.

TL;DR: better than the average deli with decent portion size Ordered: Big Boy Club on Onion Roll - I love onions and even I was like "wow the onion roll is SUUUUPER onion-y". Really smacks you in the face when you unwrap the sando. The deli meats were alright and the overall sandwich was good, not great Picking Cali Boy's over the chain sando spots is an easy decision so I'll be back if I'm in the area and craving a sub Cheers, Cali Boy!

Cali Club on toasted sourdough: Turkey, avocado, bacon, alfalfa sprouts, lettuce, tomato, mayo, salt &pepper with pickle and peppers
    Rick D.

Among the best sandwich delis. I take this place for granted and I've been going here a long time. It is consistent quality. The deli counter is connected to, or inside of MG Liquors. Call ahead because sometimes there is a substantial wait due to popularity with local businesses and residents. Order at the counter and wait outside at a table. Mostly to-go orders from the deli counter. I get the Cali Club on sourdough or pastrami on rye. All the sandwiches are delicious and well made, they stay together and don't fall apart in your hands. It's a small place in an odd location but delivers big time with their sandwiches.

Best sandwiches in all of San Diego. Make sure you order for pickup as they can run very long wait during peak times.

I mean just look at the pictures and tell me your mouth isn't drooling for some of that. One bite and it was so fresh, so tasty, so juicy, so amazing. Absolutely stunning and delicious. If you love a good cheese cheesy cheesesteak then I highly recommend you get the Cheez Wiz because that one was SO gooey and cheesy just the perfect amount. Now I always know that fries are never the best to go but this place wrapped their fries up like a sandwich which was the first I've ever seen and did it work. They didn't come out soggy at all. Such a nice touch that every restaurant needs to be apart of. The cheese dipping sauce was KILLER. Everything about this just makes you want to rub your belly, gorge, and eat while enjoying some World Cup matches which is exactly what happened. I used to frequent Fatboy's because it was close and convenient for a long time, but I am rarely able to visit anymore... parking is a bigger challenge every day in North Park, and finding even a 15-minute spot takes way longer than the drive for me now (but the walk is too far to pick up a quick meal). Today I was down the street for something else so decided to order a sandwich. I was excited, then my jaw dropped when I saw the price increases. It's $18 for the North Park Club now, with no extras. I already had a hard time justifying $15 for a sandwich but I'm officially, 100% priced out now. I know it's not necessarily on the business owners; rent is exorbitant in NP, profit margins are small in the food service industry, and operating costs are high.
