As a first timer, this place is amazing. Just moving to the area and was looking for breakfast spot and this place came up. The ambience was great, not too loud and not too quiet. The service was excellent, was greeted right when we walked in, and the owner checked up on us at the end. I've been to many Latin bakeries in the Tampa Bay area and Cali Cafe is hands down one of the best. It's definitely the best Colombian bakery around. Colombian coffee is not usually my go-to but Cali Cafe's coffee is very high quality. Everything we tried was really delicious - pan de bono, guava and cheese pastries, empanadas, Cuban sandwich and a cinnamon roll. The staff is very kind and helpful and the cafe is very clean. I usually have a good experience here but today was horrible. The staff was rude and unattentive. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant. There were 7 in the case and was told after I ordered and sat down while receiving my coffee that they did not have anymore because the ones in the case were sold. I needed more sugar and stood at the side of counter for about five minutes with no one acknowledging me as customers came in they attended to them at this point I had to almost yell could I get some sugar please. Being married to a Colombian (named Claudia, the same as the owner) I have a taste for Colombian delicacies. So of course their coffee is to die for. But it is so much more, Cubans that IMO are better than Brocato's, breads, pastries. If you do like Latin food, their Empanadas are superb, my MIL has bought them out of pandebono and I won't admit how many times I find a reason to stop in for buñuelos. Now if that doesn't have you running there, the food is actually the second best thing - the service is warm, friendly and dare I say like family. I know more about the owners than most of my neighbors. And being in HR I want his secret to hiring because I have gotten the same service from every employee. If you imagine the perfect coffee cafe The Cali Cafe in Brandon will check all of the boxes. It was my first visit and I met a lady for our first date and I am so glad I picked The Cali for the meeting. I was first impressed by how tastefully the shop was decorated. There was bright art hanging on the walls, and there was a mix of tables and chairs, and a few over stuffed chairs and a couch giving it a very homey and comfortable feel. The staff was very friendly and eager to explain several of their speciaities. The Latte I ordered was made fresh and was probably the best I have ever had. (I am a real coffee officinado too) we spent about 2 hours there so I had a good chance to observe the whole operation and never once did I feel that this smooth operation was just a fluke. They are like a well oiled machine, even during their off peak times. They started cleaning the very moment they were not servicing customes, thats a biggie! The Cali Cafe is immaculate in all respects. Now lets talk about the carrot cake. It raised carrot cake to a whole new level! I was so good i felt i must be breaking the law just eating it.
