White and dark chocolate frappe $6.25
    Latasha H.

Absolutely horrendous customer service. I waited 11 minutes without so much as a greeting or acknowledgment. There was only one person ahead of me, and one young lady working the counter. She took the other customer's order and began preparing it--but never once acknowledged me standing there. I've been to this place several times and never had an experience like this, so it was disappointing, to say the least. Maybe business is doing so well that customer service is no longer a priority. Either way, I won't be returning anytime soon.

Been here a handful amount of times! Doesn't disappoint, they have a huge selection of drinks which does feel overwhelming but it's a place you should try! Have only gotten their empanadas once and it was great! Service is also amazing here, always treated with such kind employees, love visiting when I can!

Strawberry, banana, coconut shavings, coconut water smoothie.

Very expensive and the quality was basic. Maybe they have some good niche items but as a regular spot for coffee and breakfast, it was lackluster. The smoothie I got was too thick and the flavor wasn't really balanced. The salted caramel Vietnamese coffee was super sweet as if it was a frappe or something.

HUGE thanks & shout out to Cali Cafe & Horizon Christian Fellowship San Diego for the sweet treat today! Ordered the snickerdoodle Frappuccino & it was such a nice treat on a (very) warm December day. As usual, the Cali Cafe service was top notch & fast for the amount of people that were there today!

The menu is extensive in a good way, I doubt someone won't be able to find something they like. The mexican mocha I got was nice and sweet and the empanada was a nice little snack to go along. Service was nice too!

Omg YUM! I got the Nutty Madness and it did not disappoint. It is the perfect blend of peanut butter, protein and I had them add something to reduce anxiety and stress. Jenny was friendly and had great customer service ! I will be back to try other smoothies. There was a bit of a rancid smell near the shop like it smelled almost like trash or sewer. I hope it does not smell like that all the time.

Great service and amazing açaí bowls! I was in town for a girls trip and ended up coming here twice. The menu has a ton of options for food and drinks, and we got a variety of breakfast and coffee. The açaí bowls are full of fresh ingredients, and the flavor was great.

Taylor is the goat! Every time she makes something, it's pure bliss and happiness! i would NOT be giving them my business if she wasn't here. come see ha

Staff is Friendly, there is parking and street parking which is nice... Cali Cafe is essentially for a pick and go stop for coffee and food. I got a small carmel macchiato and it was okay. For $8ish? Definitely wasnt worth it. I didnt get to order any food/acai bowls which I wanted too but thought I'd save it for another time if I return!

I love Cali cafe!! They're that small little feel-at-home shack in my neighborhood that is the best! Açaí bowls are always consistent and the best. Coffee is always great and the baristas always friendly and provide great service. Love that this little place is in my neighborhood and something to be super proud of. When guests visit us from out of town, they always want to visit Cali cafe over and over.

It's a great option if you want some fresh air or if the indoor seating is full. Parking can get a bit tight during peak hours, so don't forget to check the back lot for additional parking.

There's lots of seating for anyone who wants to hangout with friends or study. So awesome to see that they serve Nami (aashleyk's matcha brand). I ordered a chicken empanada, pan de elote, & an iced matcha cloud (less sweet & oat milk). Everything was absolutely DELISH. I'm pretty picky about my matcha, especially when it's in an Einspanner form. I loved the contrast between the sweet/salty cloud and the matcha itself! This place has their ratios down perfectly. Can't wait to come back (probably tomorrow)! 11/10.

Wait outside on the sidewalk (no exterior seating) and someone will come to take you inside. Do not ring the door bell. The theme is to take it slow. Each customer typically waits 20-30 minutes to enter as part of how they do things, even if there is open seating inside. Not sure if they use a timer to space entries but it seems consistent. They take one group in at a time. Interior: A few tables around the wall and then bar seating. Would not recommend for parties greater than 2, there just isn't the space. They welcome service animals, babies/children and strollers from what I observed. The music was very, very loud. It was difficult to hold a conversation. I did not see a bathroom. Ordering process: After seating you wait for a little bit for them to bring small water cups and a QR menu with a table number and a set of rules. They do not have a physical menu, you must use your phone to order. Cell phone reception was dicey and took a long time to load. They have an interesting concept where you have a digital 'tab' open on their toast website. Unfortunately you must provide your full name, email and phone number. They have pour over drinks (note these can take 15-20 minutes), matcha, Hojicha and others. You may only order one drink per person at a time. They have a small snack menu with rotating foods. They use oat milk only. No substitutions allowed. After mobile ordering, drinks take 20-30 minutes as part of their take it slow vibe. Matcha $8 is from Paru tea and was very good. Hojicha $8 was too milky and didn't have a strong enough flavor. When you are done you walk to the register by the door and wait to be checked out. If they are making a drink you wait until they are finished. I wasn't really a fan. Staff were brusque. Music was too loud to converse.

The first thing that caught our eye was the seasonal Tokyo Banana Latte, and we knew for sure we had to get it. When we went inside Asa, the space was spacious, with a lot of folks already inside hanging out with friends and studying/working. The interior was very Japandi, which was expected and very cute. We did not have a wait, and there was no line at 1:30 p.m. We ordered a couple of items to share among us. The service, by the way, was very friendly, and they were very open to answering any questions we had, which was awesome. Between the group, we ordered: * Miso Croque Monsieur: I wish this had a bit more ham, in my opinion. While the pastry itself is unique, I wish it were a bit less salty. The miso really shined through, but I was unsure if it was balanced and well-rounded. * Lime Tart: Probably our favorite thing here, actually! The brightness of the citrus stood out but was not overpowering. It had a light, custardy flavor. * Berry Melon Pan: Standard classic melon pan with a subtle berry filling. It is more of a coagulated consistency rather than a jammy interior like we initially thought, but not bad. * Chicken Katsu Sandwich: The shokupan had a nice bounce, and their chicken was nice and juicy. * Matcha Tiramisu: Even though I am an avid lover of matcha, this might have been too much. The topping of matcha made the dessert bitter, and we were a bit surprised by the lack of ladyfingers. * Tokyo Banana Latte: Best banana latte, heads up! I am already a big fan of Tokyo Banana, so this really took the cake. The banana milk was not too sweet, just the way I like it. I would say that I did not think it stood out enough to rave to folks about coming here, but overall, not bad.
