Cali Cafe is one of those places that you would miss of you blinked while driving by. It's like a walk up on the edge of a parking lot that has a very expansive menu. Basically, if you're looking for it in the coffee, smoothie, açaí, breakfast avenue, then this place will have you covered. We walked up and ordered a touch of every category on the menu. I had the medium sized Sunshine Bowl. It was unlike anything I'd ever had. Like a sweet bowl with a salty kick on the side. It was really good and the ingredients were really fresh and vibrant in taste. My main critique is that I'd love to see pictures with their menu items. Sometimes it is hard to imagine what some of the items are. For example, "Breakfast Sandwich" might be a bagel with eggs and cheese or maybe bacon and eggs on a muffin or croissant. It's hard to tell what exactly the menu is describing. It's nice to support a local business in the local community. read more

So excited to have found this place and love that it opens early. I've been coming here on my way to work and the service is always really quick. They have their own parking lot which makes it super easy to find parking and you do have to get out and order at their little store front. They have 1 table available to sit, but for the most part it's like a to-go tyler coffee place. Their menu has so many options, and everything looks so good. came here after the gym in the neighborhood of Serra Mesa and was welcomed by two friendly workers. The parking lot is huge and the spot is so convenient for people who live around here. We ordered two Cali bowls, topped with granola, strawberries, banana, blueberries, honey and coconut. They also offer pastries, breakfast sandwiches and cookies from local bakeries. Their hours are so convenient, with surprisingly being open till 9 pm everyday except Sunday, when they close at 7 pm. This is a great little out door coffee and snack bar shack run by a trio of young ladies. I had them make me a Cafe au Lait with the regular Kona roast, a light roast, with 2% for the steam-age. The coffee was great. It had a very light flavor and went down quite smoothly. One of the easiest roasts to go down, I have sipped on. It was so good, that I helped my self to a bit more from the self serve coffee dispenser, but keep lets keep that under wrap. Anyways, they offer a variety of coffees, blends, espressos, etc, and fruit bowls as well. They do have bagels with packaged spreads and some pastries. I was hoping for some toast with a natural spread but they are not at that point yet given the rules and regulation put forth by the city of San Diego. Hopefully in the future they will offer such things as avocado toast, hummus toast, almond toast, etc. The ladies working Cali or totally friendly and each have their distinct warm personality. I enjoyed chatting with them as I waited for the sandwich shop to open up next door. Don't let your eyes deceive you! This little cafe IS the place to go for açaí bowls. I'm upset with myself for not coming here sooner. This place is only a 10 min walk from my house. So I decided to enjoy the sun. When I got there, there was no wait and the staff was extremely friendly. By the time I got back home the bowl had melted down a little. Just moved near this little coffee shop and decided to give it a try. Came this morning to get a large hot latte with oat milk which is my Friday to go always. The cup wasn't full, latte tasted alright and it was expensive ($8.25). They charged me $1.75 for the oat milk lol. I've never got charged this much for a oat milk in the coffee. I stumbled upon Cali Cafe when I was getting lunch a couple of doors down at Thai Pepper Cuisine. It's a walk-up/drive-thru cafe. They have a pretty big menu for a small place. I got a Vietnamese iced coffee and a Cravory cookie flavored wine and cheese. The Vietnamese iced coffee tasted great! It's the best one I've had so far (although I do admit I've had less than 5 in my life ha ha). The cookie was okay, tasted less like wine and cheese and more like lemon.
