I also tried com bo luc lac, bun thit nuong, eggrolls, and spring rolls which was all good too. Really nice atmosphere and eager friendly service. The grilled pork spring rolls were fresh and delicious. We also had the Thai shrimp fried rice, spicy chicken wings, and the grilled pork Bahn Mi poboy and a great piece of French bread (I'm from New Orleans so I know). Everything had great flavor. I ordered ice milk coffee but didn't get it even after my noodle was served on table. So I asked this waitress where's my drink she said it's coming. Later she got me a glass of water. I asked again about the ice coffee and again she said it's coming. I never got my ice coffee, not even when I'm done and paid the ticket. I told this to the cashier and she asked the gentleman in the drink bar to make me one. Apparently my drink was never made. I hate people lying! read more

When I'm in town, I always try to come here for a quick lunch. Service is very fast, and though they have a small menu, the food has always been fresh. I had their pork and vermicelli along with fresh spring rolls. Their pho is good as well - good broth to noodle ratio. read more

Really good pho! I got the pho tai and the broth is amazing. It has that bright "clean" flavor that pho should have, not all oily with muddled flavor. The meat also seems like good quality cuts, not fatty. Egg rolls are good, nothing outstanding but nice and crunchy. read more

This is my first time eating here. Walking in i had already felt the food wasnt going to be all that well. First i tried the tai shrimp fried rice and im unpleased to say the flavor profile is everywhere, sweet basil dosent go well with tai. Second was the meat ball noodle soup. My wife and I visit here often. While serving in Vietnam I came to love the food. I told my wife the food tasted different from other Vietnamese restaurants. I was stationed near Saigon and the food tasted like what I got at Cali's Kitchen. After talking to the owner I know why. She is from the Saigon area. The pho is outstanding. Try the Vietnamese coffee (I think it is R28 on the menu). It is really good but kinda strong. Try the special. It comes with an egg roll on the side. The Bahn Mi's are so good. The bread is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The food is good and so is the service.

Based on the reviews here and elsewhere, I was really looking forward to dinner at Cali Kitchen. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed for the following reasons: - I asked if any of the spring rolls were vegetarian; my waiter told me that they were not on the menu, but they could make them. I was initially quite pleased at the responsiveness thinking I was getting some especially made vegetable specialty. What I received, however, was a spring roll in which the inside was half shredded lettuce and the other half was bun noodles. There was nothing else - no vegetables beyond the shredded lettuce. - The service was embarrassingly bad. The waitstaff outnumbered customers by at least two to one (as I was the only customer in the restaurant in the time); yet after I was served my food, I never again saw my waiter. I am not a restaurant customer who likes the hovering waiter checking every three minutes. It would have been nice, however, if the waiter had checked back at least once to see if my food was ok, or had come back at least once to refill my water glass, or had bothered to ever bring the check to my table. When I finished eating after 45 minutes, I had to walk up and ask for my bill; so that I could pay and leave. - I ordered the Pho Ga (chicken Pho). The broth was tasty, but there seemed to hardly be any chicken in the bowl and i found three inedible items in my bowl. There were two pieces of fat/gristle and one piece of a chicken bone. These inedible pieces were of significant enough size that I was a little worried about choking if I accidentally swallowed another piece by accident. - One final minor annoyance that I noticed as I was paying was that the restaurant's suggested tip calculations (on the credit card receipt where they list how much a 15% tip would be and how much a 20% tip would be on the specific bill) were inflated by just over 1%. While I realize this amount was completely inconsequential to the total cost of my dinner; when this extra 1% is aggregated over the thousand and thousands of dollars in sales in a year, the restaurant is taking in a lot of extra money. read more

I like it. A lot! I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal here. Have eaten just about everything on the menu and liked it all. My favorites are the grilled pork chops. I am not Asian but have been to Asia/China several times and have eaten quite a bit of it. The noodles, sandwiches, and appetizers are all pretty good. Watch out for the peppers in the sandwiches. Nice, clean and stylish Vietnamese restaurant. I had the Pho with just brisket. They make a good broth and provide a good amount of fresh toppings (e.g. basil, cilantro, bean sprouts). It hit the spot. The service was excellent. The woman who waited on me (I believe the owner) was nice and pleasant.
