Kitschy and adorable. Sing karaoke, drink wine, buy a gift, dress up in costumes and take pictures, add a guitar pick to the wall... DO IT ALL!

12/5/25 - Decided to check out this place after hearing people sing and it was such a vibe! You do have to buy a drink to karaoke, but the rose bubbly we had was so fun and yummy! Very fun place!

This was a fun stop to find. Everything here closes early it's more of a daytime town. Calilove was the only place you can hear the music and people singing karaoke on the entire quiet strip at 7:30pm. They only had one bartender but still quick service. Thy only have wine and cheaper to get a bottle if you have 3 or more people. I do love the karaoke very night.

Cali Love is a fun place to visit. They're open late, you can sing to your heart's content and enjoy some good bubbly! My favorite on the tasting menu were the Sauvignon Blanc and the Stardust. Enjoy!

My daughter and I stumbled across this adorable wine tasting room by chance when visiting Solvang for a girls trip, and had such a blast! From the delicious wines (my favorites were the Chardonnay and Rose), to the super cute and fun atmosphere, the evening Karaoke party, and our amazing hostess Lea who made the whole experience truly epic, it was truly memorable. We can't recommend Cali love more highly, especially for those looking for a yummy wines in a fun, non-stuffy, light hearted setting. Can't wait to visit again. Thank you Lea for making our day so special!

Super cute place, felt like a girly location that's super welcoming! We got the michelada which isn't really one but super cute! Love the energy and karaoke!

This place was one heck of a gem while visiting Solvang! I happen to be passing through for one night only and it was already after 7pm. This city goes to sleep early, however I did find this cool "wine bar" No food. So I went with the wine tasting and man was it worth it! It was also karaoke night! This crowd was amazing with every act. The service was great! The tender was all over the place yet made sure everyone was taken care of. High recommended.

Fun little gem in solvang ... We're in the wine industry, and absolutely loved the hospitality and the wine especially the blend. I believe it is called rollerskates thank you again for everything we had a blast by the way karaoke every night we all sang and had a good time.

It's a very fun place, but Ava needed a break from all the karaoke.

I was in Solvang for an overnight and this place was a great time! There's nonstop Karaoke -- either step up and jump into whatever song comes up, or request your own. The wines were OK and not overwhelmingly great, but the environment, server, and fellow patrons made up for that. When in that neighborhood, I will stop by again.

Until this visit, I've always had a positive impression. Last night, our group purchased drinks from the Sideways Lounge and sat in the outdoor fireplace area. One member of our group was smoking when an employee approached us and rudely told us smoking wasn't allowed there. That wasn't the issue--we would have gladly complied if the policy had simply been explained respectfully. Instead, we were interrupted multiple times while trying to ask why there were no signs indicating the rule. The employee repeatedly responded, "Well, I'm telling you now." He then told us to go outside the fenced lounge area--even into the parking lot--to smoke, despite posted signs stating that alcohol cannot leave the lounge area. The interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational and inconsistent. Businesses absolutely have the right to enforce their policies. Customers should also expect to be treated with courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, this one interaction overshadowed an otherwise enjoyable trip. After years of staying here and recommending the property to others, I no longer plan to return or recommend Sideways Inn for future golf and wine weekends. I sincerely hope management addresses the customer service issues that led to this experience.

Kelly seemed more focused on catering to a small group of guys in cowboy hats than maintaining the vibe that actually makes this spot stand out. Instead of reading the room, she and her May 1st bartender colleague locked into a single stream of country music that clearly wasn't resonating with most of the crowd. That's really the frustrating part, it wasn't just a music choice, it was the complete lack of awareness or willingness to adjust. People weren't being heard, requests were ignored, and the whole "records" concept felt pointless when it was treated so rigidly. If you're going to lean into vinyl as part of the experience, it should feel curated, responsive, and a little bit special, not like someone just putting on their personal playlist and tuning everyone else out. The drinks were genuinely great, which makes the situation even more disappointing. The potential is clearly there, but the execution on the atmosphere just didn't match. If the records are going to stay, they should actually be used to enhance the environment, not limit it. Otherwise, it might be better to ditch the gimmick entirely rather than let it drag down what could be an otherwise standout spot.

We tipped her $5 when we left. I thin her name was Kaya Service - Paxton was our server. He was super chill and made some great menu suggestions. Attentive and refilled our drinks frequently (super hot that day). Food - we ordered the BLT, Tri-Tip sandwich and the French Dip. We also had the massive onion rings as an appetizer (one order enough for our family). All the sandwiches were huge and delicious. None of us finished our food. Prices were reasonable. Expect to spend $20-25/person here. We really loved the history and ambience of the restaurant. The service and food were superb. We'll be back.

This…read morerough wood hewn complex of buildings is set among tall trees fronting a winding country road at San Marcos Pass. Inside is rustic, rural with wagon wheel chandelier, river rock fireplace, vintage photos, taxidermied animal heads and antlers. Outdoor picnic table dining under shaded trees is another alternative. The Old Place in Cornell in the Agoura Hills seems like a doppelgänger alternative which is way closer to L.A. if driving 3 hours with present day high fuel costs is a consideration. 1) Original Cold Spring Tri-Tip Sandwich: Cold Spring Tavern takes pride in thick cut Tri-Tip which makes it tough, fibrous, too chewy. So I had to cut up the well aged meat thinner to break up the fibers to soften and make it more pleasing. Marinating with red wine, black pepper, garlic will subtly tenderize the beef as well as adding more complex flavours. Cooked to medium, which means a little pink in the middle, was fine, but I was surprised there was so very little oak smoke scent to this bbq'ed meat. Maybe adding a touch of heavily scented mesquite would make for better aromatics. ¡Don't char the buns! I noticed some of the Yelp photos showed black marks, but turned out fine. Overall, a very bland, unimpressive sandwich. Had to add more house bbq sauce to put more punch to this sandwich. 1a) House made bar-b-q sauce was dark, reddish brown. Tomato, treacle, sweet-sour with a pronounced smoke essence which was good since the meat didn't have much smokiness. Apple Horseradish was refreshing, faintly fruity, slight edge of aromatic pungency. Famous Beer Batter Onion Rings $2.50 extra: Big mistake. The crust is extra thick, too bready, and overfried so the batter is tough and hard. I tapped my fork against an Onion ring, and it made a hard, thud-like sound! 2) Chili Sampler $23.00 a) Cold Spring Chili: Ground sirloin, tomato, chilies, pinto beans, cheese, onion, crackers. Chewy, starchy Pinto beans. Bit of chile piquancy, sweet sour finish. Gastrique from the tomato. Possibly grassy, oily bay leaf. Beefy Sirloin is rough ground. b) Wild Game Black Bean: Venison, rabbit, buffalo, black beans, chilies, cheese, sour cream. Small, chewy black beans and extra smokey cumin adds a pronounced earthiness. Non-tomato sauce based. Agrodolce/sweet-sour. Nice rough ground or fibrous meats. c) Chili Verde: Pork, chicken, chilies, onion, tomato, cheese, sour cream. Chunks of chewy pork, shredded chicken breast. Good dose of mouth warming chile piquancy and slow burning kick. Sourness from stewed tomato, meaty Umami with a green poblano scent. May be the least simmered to preserve elements of "freshness". Paired with a leathery, snappy flour tortilla. 1-2a) Having to drive, only Iced Tea. For pairing, Beer would do a good job. Maybe a Hazy IPA might do. 3) Jack Daniel's Pecan Pie $12.00 Good home style, compressed rustic crust absorbing some of the sweet, plush, soft filling that is not cloyingly sweet like most pecan pies, but subtle to let the bourbon woodiness, caramelized char, vanilla flavours to shine through. It somehow reminded me of eating Jello Butterscotch Pudding of my youth. Tons of candied Pecans studded on top of this satisfying pie. You have to get the Chili Sampler. Tri-Tip sandwich is not really exceptional. Our waiter was friendly, knew when to intervene in a good way. Cold Spring Tavern is worth the stop if only to enjoy its bucolic surroundings and some grub in a historic setting. 4- stars

Nicole let me know they are fine with bringing in other food, and the Gandolfo deli and market is right across the street. Food: started off with the brussel sprouts and man, those were so so good. Brussel sprouts, goat cheese, pancetta, etc. you get what I'm saying. Flash fried perfectly. We had the salmon bisque and Soup De Novo, which was a vegetable curry soup. These both could have essentially been meals. The salmon bisque was absolutely loaded with salmon. From what I heard about it, it tasted amazing. (I don't eat salmon). The vegetable curry soup was very flavorful and blended smoothly. If you ordered rice on the side, it would have been just like an entire meal. Tikki Masala Chicken - man, that airline chicken was cooked perfectly. Juicy and tender, great flavor, no a single thing wrong with it. The rice and vegetables were fantastic, especially the carrots. I don't know why they seemed extra good, but they were. 2 orders of the Ribeye. Once cooked medium and mine, cooked medium rare. Unfortunately, when mine came out, I immediately could tell that it was nowhere near cooked right. It was actually well done. When the waiter came back, I said "I'm sorry to have to do this..." and before I could finish he said "oh yea, that's definitely not medium rare, let me have the kitchen refire that for you". I dislike sending food back, but when you're spending $58 on a ribeye dinner, it HAS to be correct. (Note- the manager remedied the issue quick..came to the table, offered soup, bread, etc, which I had already eaten soup, so he comped 50% off the steak. Nice gesture!) The rest of the vegetables paired with the ribeye were very good. If someone told you the white bean puree was mashed potatoes, most people would believe it. Very creamy and delicious. The Italian salsa verde on top was also very fulfilling. Overall the dinner was very good.

All drinks ordered were great! C for service. The service dept needs some help, and I get it, with one person serving 15+ people. It is impossible to provide a5 star service. Initially service was great with a smile when we first arrived @ 6 pm. But soon after the bar became super busy. The wait was 20-30 minutes for an order. It was time to leave. We asked for our check and it came non-itemized. If it was 2 or 4 drinks that would be fine, but we were party of 3 with over 10 drinks. Then we had to wait again after asking for an itemized check. Waiter stated they need to hand write as their "machine" was not working. That took more time than needed. Ahhhhhh.... Ah well.. you can't get it all. Hence the 3.5 stars.
