I wanted to like this place but I just couldn't. My partner and I walked past this place a couple times while we were roaming around Solvang. We got excited when we saw they were pairing donuts with wine.. I mean who doesn't love donuts?! When we walked into the store, the bar area was filled with a large party and we were not greeted by the server. No biggie, she was busy tending to the guests that were there first. We sat down and she finally strolled over and asked us if we were going to do 2 tastings or 1. We just wanted 1 to share since I am a light weight. The pours we received were the SMALLEST pours I have ever seen. I've gone to all sorts wineries and I was surprised. Literally half ounce pours. I'm totally used to the controlled 1 ounce pours at most wineries but we could only take a small sip for each person. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for shopping local, but half an ounce? While we were inside the shop, 2 guests came in and sat down. The server was busy trying to set up karaoke for her guests so she did not greet those guests. They sat there for about 3-4 minutes and got up and left. The server mumbled out loud, "They looked stuck up anyway. I gotta get this Karaoke set up!" The large party in front snickered. Yo.not cool dude. Especially because there were other people inside that heard this and that's bad form. Lastly, the vibe inside Cali Love is CUTE and fun... BUT the wines are not good. My gfs planned a nice surprise getaway for my birthday and this was our first stop. They had previously made reservations and when we got there they were not prepared. We were informed that they had lost our reservation and my gf had to show her bank statement to prove that we had paid in advance. Our party was a party of 6 and they did not have a table large enough to accommodate us so we had to squeeze in around a 4top. Our waitress was incredibly rude and on top of that did not know how to wear a mask properly. She had her mask under her nose the entire time. Besides the waitress being rude the wine was disgusting. When we asked for different glasses (after some being chipped) we were told they didn't have any more. The only thing I liked was the photo ops otherwise this is a place you can DEFINITELY skip when in Solvang. read more

They have gone above and beyond to create the same fun atmosphere they are know for while maintaining safe guidelines with Covid-19. Ok so my wife and I are in our mid thirties with our first baby and a dog that's like a baby. Second night here and we love the place. Red headed bar keep is amazing. Bubbly sweet and personable. We came her with the dog and stroller at 930 at night; everything closed, just got back from dinner and wanted to enjoy a good bottle of wine before heading back to the hotel. Didn't want to just get wine from the liquor store or drink the one that comes in the room. We wanted a GOOD bottle. Long story short we grabbed a bottle of Galaxy and Drank a bit out front while she closed up then headed back. So grateful this place was so chill and accommodating! Will for sure be back! read more

Love the vibe and decor in this winery. The employees are very friendly and welcoming. I'm not a big champagne drinker but if you love champagne this is your spot. I love white wines and she has this one called "Mommy's Little Helper"! It's spectacular! I bought two. It was a Sunday so they had really good mimosas. Super cool spot in Solvang if you have kids but still wanna go wine tasting. They had a Super Nintendo and stage with microphone our daughters loved. The lady working there was really nice. My fiancé and I stopped in here on a whim and we were pleasantly surprised! It's a small quaint winery with a very cool vibe. We did a tasting with Anabel and she was amazing! She walked us through the tasting and even allowed us to revisit the wines in place of our preference. She provided wonderful service and great conversation. The wine itself was also very good. Keep in mind they are a small winery so the selection isn't vast, however what they do have is good! They also sale wine by the bottle and their labels include their calilove logo which is pretty cool. They also sell calilove wine glasses for only $5! We had to get two! Also, they are pet friendly! Our pup, Roxy, came inside and was welcomed like you or I. Anabel even gave Roxy, a doggy treat. Roxy felt very welcomed and loved here as well! Other cool features include; ticket stubs for concerts on the bar tops, guitar pics signed by customers, board games for use by the customers and a tub filled with props and disguises for pictures. My wife, daughter, and I walked by this place on our way to dinner... loved the atmosphere and the fact it was both kid friendly and very close to our hotel... unfortunately after finishing a wine tasting and our daughter finding the courage to do karaoke for the first time, we were taken back a step by the petty unprofessional way we were treated, when asking about buying a couple glasses and a bottle of wine. My wife was on Yelp, looking for other places to visit and when she mentioned the 10% discount this location advertised for checking in, was told it was only for a 5 star review... we shrugged this off as just a joke at the time... later, when my wife asked how much the glasses where, the owner began to tell us $7, then quickly changed the price to $10. We then asked her employee/BFF behind the bar about buying the glasses again and where again told $7 (this time with no price hike). My wife very bluntly, without being rude, brought up the confusion on prices and the employee/BFF (immediately with attitude) walked over to check the price list... coming back to inform us that they "cannot keep track of all the prices all the time" rather then telling us the likely truth that the prices were raised for the holiday weekend... or even just telling us that they recently raised their prices (like proper customer service should). We then decided to just pay for our two tastings and move on from this awkward situation. The $15 tasting price listed on their menu we of course assumed included the tax (since no where on the menu did it say "plus tax" but then found that we were not only met with attitude while paying but were charged $1.15 on top of the $15 list price (which of course did not include our 10% yelp discount for checking in). Being from SoCal, regularly attending Temecula wineries (and even being a member at two), I don't think i have ever had a good time at a winery turn into such a petty, poor customer service experience ... especially when the place actually has potential if they focus as much on their customer service as they do their "fun" party girl personas. In the end, I felt more like a patron in a strip club that wasn't spending enough money, then i did a guest at a winery or even a dive bar (which has more class than this establishment). In short, my initial impression of this place was good (which is why I'm giving it 2 stars)... but quickly my impression was replaced with poor customer service. read more
