House Combination
Gail M.

Wanted a late night dinner but didn't want fast food so we went here. Place is a little hole in the wall and the cashier was also the waiter (respect for the multitasking). We ordered a few meals like the pad see ew, house combination appetizers, tom kha and curry and while they were okay, they were reasonably priced and it's open till midnight.

Pad Thai with Beef and Beef Yellow Curry (all day special)

I found Siam Cafe for Thai food with a friend, and I have to admit this easily ranks at the bottom of my Thai food adventures. This is beyond parking being difficult to maneuver around in this small lot. To start off, we had their Dynamite Chicken Wings as appetizers. The chicken was a good texture. The sauce itself was fairly heavy, lightly spicy, though super sweet. The taste was unique, though not enjoyable. We also had their Yellow Curry with Beef and Pad Thai Beef - both their "All Day Specials." Both came with deep fried egg rolls that had a warm exterior but an ice cold interior. We notified our server, and they were quickly replaced. The beef for the yellow curry was a tad on the colder side; the meat was pink. The curry itself was super watery, and it was very sweet. The rice for both dishes was okay. The pad thai was unfortunately left uneaten, as the taste was a bit off and was very sweet, too. Overall, the chicken was okay, and our entrees were a load of sugar - a chore to eat. The rice was not impressive, and our overall meal was not too enjoyable.

Ordered here previously, and never disappoints. The portion size is fulfilling, certainly worth the price.

Food 10/10 Service 10/10 Ambiance 10/10 When I walked in immediately was greeted by a very nice young lady sitting in the front with superb customer service skills she took my order super fast and was helpful with my million questions lol. I ordered soup and steamed gyozas and it was so delicious. The tom yum was probably one of the best I have ever had no doubt. I already knew I was going to like this place just by the small cozy clean vibes it had inside and sure enough it met my expectations. Definitely coming back to try the rest of the food items.

My bf and I was craving Thai food and then we realized a lot of the Thai places closed early now... but we ended up finding this place on yelp and decided to check it out. The restaurant is small and the prices are pretty good. It's decent amount of food for the price. The food was delicious. We got the pad kra pow, pad see ew, chicken satay, pork jerky. The pad see ew could have had a little bit more flavor though. The service was pretty quick and the server/cashier was friendly. I would probably come back to this place again!

I was craving thai food and came across this delicious hidden jem! The place can't easily be missed, it is next to a nail spot behind beeps. The place is extremely clean, very welcoming and comfortable sitting. Family business which i love to support! We got some pad thai, delicious! Generous portions and full of fresh flavors! we are definitely coming back to support them, authentic flavors at a fair price The service was also great, she was super nice and make sure we had eveverything we needed to enjoy our meal

The parking lot is a decent size so finding a spot is never a problem (there's always street parking if need be). Place is always packed but never overwhelmingly so. Servers are friendly and quick to fix any mistakes that may arise. For appetizers you can't go wrong with vegetable egg rolls, tofu, or fried chicken dumplings. For entrees we've tried the Orange Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Pad Thai Noodle, and Pineapple Fried Rice (with the last two being our go-to). The portions are family/shareable sizes unless you're absolutely hangry/determined enough to take it on solo. Overall it's one of the better Thai restaurants we've been to in the Valley. It's nice and cool inside for those hot summer days, it's a great place to catch games on their giant TV, and it's a solid choice for families on a budget. If you're in the area, give them a shot!

Make sure you order online on weekends, because this place is packed. I found this place when i was…read morespecifically looking for kai jiew (thai omelette? scrambled eggs?). I love the crispy edges of kai jiew, really can't get enough of it. This place has two kinds though: thai omelette (which looks like a common omelette but with ground meat inside and a brown sauce), and scrambled eggs (which looks like the 'thai omelette' that i've known from other thai places). Kai jiew / kai jeaw / khai jiao / kai jiaw (scrambled eggs) -- if you like those fluffy, crispy fried eggs that are mostly called thai omelette at other places, this is the one you want. They're not as crispy, but still fluffy and full of flavor. They're a bit pricey though, which i find a little weird since this is normally one of the cheapest dishes at most thai places. Thai omelette -- this egg dish is one i've only seen at this place. It's more like egg foo young than the thai omelette that i know. Still flavorful though. Crab fried rice -- one of the best! It might not be as full of crab aroma, but this is the only place where i found a balance in fried rice as both an entree and a side dish. Usually fried rice is either flavorful enough to be an entree, or slightly bland and best as a side. But Khun Dang's is the perfect middle ground: flavorful enough as an entree, but not so strong that it overpowers your main dish if you decide to eat it as a side. Chicken fried wonton -- nicely crispy, such a joy to bite into! Thai ice tea -- not bad, pretty okay. Not too sweet, and not the "packaged mix" kind. Thai ice coffee -- strong, reminds me of vietnamese coffee (in all the good ways). Service was warm and friendly. Got my order in half an hour, which is pretty good considering they were packed for sunday lunch. The place is nice for hanging out and chatting when it's not packed, but even when it is, the tables aren't arranged too tightly. The price point is a bit on the pricey side, but the quality and portions reflect it.

I'm Laotian myself so it's always nice to support a small business like this. When we came during the evening, they had a lot of parking in the plaza so I just parked in the front of the restaurant. They were getting their windows tinted so there were works doing some work in the dining room. The restaurant was also busy too so it took like maybe 10 minutes to get seated. We started off with water, my wife with her Thai Tea and she also wanted the egg rolls. After our waitress brought it out, my wife ordered the chicken pho and I got the boat noodle. Our food didn't take long to come out, my wife chicken pho came out first and then my boat noodle came like 5 minutes afterwards. You get a great portion of noodles and meat on both soup. I had to ask for lemon for my wife since they didn't one to the table and also for the Sriracha sauce. I thought the boat noodle was delicious here and my wife loved her chicken pho. Did not have enough spice nor texture. It was very soft and mushy. Expected to be so much more. The penang was pretty good. It was very comparable to other restaurants. I highly recommend ordering it medium spice, or even hot, don't do mild. The fried rice was just ok. It didn't have anything that made it special, it didn't hit the spot. It was just a regular fried rice. The noodles, hand made, fresh, and hand-cut, were awesome! The broth had a great flavor, everything came together in perfect harmony. Make sure to order this. Definitely give them a try, but don't expect the best. Great place to try Thai food and get a baseline. The inside was very clean and spacious. The service was very good and attentive.

We were so hungry for Thai food and ordered about 3-4 items. Spoiler alert, we could not finish everything but it was all so good and delicious!!! I complemented my meal with a small Thai iced tea and it had a great blend with strong taste of their condensed milk. The plates were all so delicious and so good. I wanted beef jerky, a dish I always order from thai restaurants but I couldn't find it on the menu. Luckily there was such a thing when I ordered!!! The beef jerky was chewy and not super hard when I bit it. The meat was good quality, it was a bit like steak to be honest!!! The fried rice was also just regular order but it was so tasty, buttery, and yummy. I loved the honey roasted ribs because it was so tender and flavorful. The panang curry was also super super good. I don't usually enjoy curry like that because it gets too spicy but the mild level was perfect for my taste buds and so good and creamy with the chicken we ordered for it. The white rice it came with would be doused with the curry sauce/stew and it would just be an amazing combo of flavors!!!! I would definitely recommend this spot, and would be excited to come back here for more for even hangouts with friends.

Shrimp Spring Rolls consisted of a large handful of lettuce, an erstwhile shred of carrot or two, and perhaps one solitary shrimp, sliced into pieces and buried deep within the greens -- all wrapped in the usual rice paper and served with peanut sauce that was serviceable but far from anything truly tasty. The rolls themselves were pretty much flavorless and unpleasant. Dumplings (offered on a BOGO deal) were clearly of the packaged variety, served 1/2 steamed, the others fried. Again, very little flavor; served with a thicker, sweeter teriyaki style sauce rather than the vinegary dumpling sauce one expects. Chicken Pad Thai was the worst of the lot. Just dry chicken and the rice noodles, bland and pretty terrible. None of the other usual ingredients, and zero flavor. I don't know if the holiday weekend led to the D-Team working the kitchen, or if this is actually the best they can do. Whichever the case, we have no plans to give this another try.
