If you are looking for a good AYCE kbbq in the Valley (and not having to drive to LA for it), this is the place to go. Their staff is friendly, welcoming and super helpful. The place is pretty clean and organized. Love the dividers to give each table some "privacy." Lastly, food is good. Meat is decent and the variety of banchan is amazing and tasty. Their sauce is perfect too. I recommend this place!

One of my favorite kbbq spots in the valley. Staff were nice and attentive and kept checking on us. I really enjoyed their brisket here, the pepper beef, spicy tofu soup, japchae, and their ban chans- potato salad, and the spinach. I love that their meat is quality and it's affordable as well. Such a casual vibe with great staff. Everything was so good. One thing only - the grill that we had kept turning off everytime we do a grill change and we felt bad asking the staff everytime to turn the fire back on again again. Otherwise yummy yummy food.

Staff was very helpful and was able to get us everything we wanted. Made it super easy! Food was delicious and we were able to eat a lot of everything lol definitely will be back

This place is mid at best! Our grill kept burning all our food! I understand we're in charge of cooking our own food but it would burn so quick... They had to change the grill at least 5 times in less than 40 mins we were here. And they even turned it down. One side was cold and the other side charred everything to a crisp. I also had one of their soups and it was super salty. I will say my friend really enjoyed the chicken fried rice and I like the shrimp shumai. Also, it is definitely not worth the price!! Very little options. You have to pay for each premium item and no free dessert like I'm used to in places in vegas

Cook your own The place was pretty busy even late on Sunday. The staff was friendly enough and use team work to serve. We had to flag people down for refills or more food sometimes. It's a busy place . Our party of seven ordered lots of spicy bulgogi, pepper steak , calamari and chicken . The meets and marinades were good. They added an 18% charge on top which was a surprise.

Anyone who likes this place has never had actually good KBBQ. I knew it from the moment they brought out this pico de gallo Banchan and no kimchi. It only got worse from there. Never again.

After visiting my brother at the cemetery for his 5 years death anniversary, we all decided to have lunch together. The wait was about 30 mins on a Sunday afternoon around 12pm for a party for 15. Juan the host was amazing. He was very attentive, kind and great at multitasking. Our server was amazing too. I just can't remember his name though. He was very attentive, quick on his feet, had good memory and polite. My annoying nephew wasn't hungry until we were all about to leave. We all thought we were done until my nephew ordered 2 beef belly, pork belly, steam egg, rice and etc. The waiter bought it out with a smile on his face. He didn't even judge him. (Eventhough I was lol). The only down side was that they didn't have the cilantro, onion tomatoes salsa. I usually order 3 along with my meats. Love the yogurt ice cream that we had to get 2 to-go. Thanks for the great customer service today. We had a blast. We will definitely be back soon.

I absolutely love this place. I've been coming here for years & it's definitely my go to Korean spot. The sides are SO good! It's easy to get carried away in sides lol Usually get the brisket, bulgogi, pork belly, peppered steak & it never misses. We always ask for onions & jalapeños + salt & pepper which makes the food have so much more flavor! The bacon fried rice is too tier. Service is typically good but can be hard to grab attention of our server when it's busy. It's a nice spot with pin ball machines in the waiting area & in a back room. I believe they even hold tournaments sometimes. Definitely worth the try!

The service here is ok. The food here is ok. The inside is ok. Everything is ok, but if you want better, try their newer location in west hills.

I had the most amazing first impression of Korean barbecue here at AYCE gogi!!! Yes, it was my very first time having kbbq this past week! It was perfect for a girl like me who was just craving all types of meat. My absolute favorite was the garlic steak!!! If you're a garlic lover you'll looove this! And if you don't really fw garlic, you'd hate this! The gyozas were sooo good and so was their chicken fried rice!!! I recommend heavily. And for it being 30 $ per person, we definitely got our moneys worth! SO MUCH MEAT ps. The complementary froyo at the end of your meal is genius, perfect touch. OH- and they have pinball machines!!!!!! (More in the room in the back, 50¢ per play)

Let's start off by saying the weekend wait is longgggg! We were a big party, so that's probably why but we waited over an hour and it's too hot to wait inside. And outside is obviously too hot too. After we were seated, service was quick! All the meats were really good but the short rib was my favorite. The sides are good but I wish they had more sides options. Overall, I'd definitely come back during the week. Parking is easy shopping center free parking

Lunch in weekend is still lunch pricing at $30.99 - great deal! The meat variety is good and includes beef tongue and limited orders of peeled shrimp. Servers initiated frequent grill changes without us needed to hound them down. However, meat quality or taste does match the price range and nothing stood out a lot. Beef tongue for instance was quite chewy and shrimp flavor tasted okay. Best items were short rib and steamed egg. Japchea is an honorable mention. They served it in a bowl and it looked a bit watery, but don't be afraid, it was very flavorful and fresh. AYCE gogi is overall good for satisfying meat cravings and if there's a wait (no wait when I went), there's a lot of pinball machines to play with at the entrance. So bring quarters!

We tried this K-BBQ one weekend and it was okay. I can't say that this is the best I've had, but it is pretty decent for the area. They have a vast menu of items, but feel they lack a bit of taste. I feel for the price, I can get better quality at other places. The service was fairly quick and employees were very friendly and attentive, despite the many tables and customers. The decor was more industrial. They have a pretty large bar area and have pinball arcade games as well. Our overall experience was good.

How much is lunch? How about dinner?

Both are great, lunch is about $10 cheaper than dinner. As it's all you can eat, it's a set price, lunch is around $30-35 dinner is more like $45-50

Can we go just for the pinball machines or do we have to eat?

Hello, yes!!! There is a bar in the back with multiple pin ball machines!!!!

Do they have cucumber banchan and pickled radish paper?

I don't think they do. Shut you can always check the menu on their page

    Does AYCE Gogi do Reservations?

They only accept walk-ins, no reservations

Did they remove the feature to place yourself on the list to be seated thru yelp? I can't find it.

Yes we did, it was very problematic for us and we had to remove.

Can't get anyone to answer the phone, are there different hours surrounding Thanksgiving ? The hours on Yelp says they close at 10, trying to make sure an 8:30 seating is ok.

Sorry, we are closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Happy Holidays

    Do they have pickled radishes?

    No they don't

Do they take cash payment, or is it cash only place?

They take cash, debit, credit and Apple Pay.

    Do you take Apple Pay?

    Yes

How bad are the wait times usually on Sundays for dinner?

    1hr

    How to make a Reservation?

It is a first come first serve. They don't take reservations.

    Open labor day 2022?

    Yes we are! Regular hours

Is their phone number working? I try calling them but get a message that their mailbox is full and can't receive a message.

They're just busy and sadly, you'll have to keep trying. I was able to get through after a few attempts. You will have to understand that they are a very busy establishment and they also have hood systems installed at each table, as well as music,… Read more

Do they still have outdoor dining?

    No more outdoor dining.

    Is vaccine card still required?

    Not required

What's the biggest party you can take?

From my own experience, I went with a group of 8 and we had to sit at two tables. There is one long table in the middle where they can put/remove partitions to accommodate larger parties, but I wouldn't come here for a large party.

Hello. We call here all the time and the line seems to be disconnected?

    We are closed Christmas Day.

Do you need to show proof of vaccination to enter/dine?

Yes they are asking, but not always!

Do they play any sports here?

Yes, they have multiple T.V's playing different games.

Can I buy the raw meat and cook from home?

Unfortunately we do not offer that at this time.

The street is super dark and desolate looking it feels like an industrial area think City of Industry. There's no parking well there's one spot to park for pick up. The street parking is filled with what looked like broken down type cars the four I seen had chalk writing like tow yards do. To the food!!! Ordered 2 two meat meals that come with 2 sides. Not a piece of bread or muffin was included. Please notice the dry @$$ pulled pork? and I got 4 pieces of a rib tip that was the same as 1 maybe 2 real tips ANYWHERE else.the tips were chopped into 2-4 pieces from one full tip. So I really feel cheated and I was frigging hungry -hungry. The pork was dry and couldn't be swallowed without the bbq sauce and drink. She ordered a hot link with ribs and added a side of ribs for an additional $24. The sides came in a small container I had Mac n cheese and greens which every bite I was like wish I had cornbread to add to these greens. While she had greens and the sweet potato (which by the way was the best thing they had going on) the Mac was average I'm about to reheat and toast again before I hit send for this review. Reheated the side of ribs, greens and Mac and it's a bit better than the pulled pork, but this definitely isn't a bbq spot I'd advise anyone to go to nor would I dare try without bbq sauce and a lot of it. Dessert banana pudding last time I was here the desserts were pretty good. This tasted like the yoplait whips yogurts consistency and like knock of Nila wafers I was just sooo utterly disappointed.

Unfortunately, it was another disappointment. To be fair, they were busy, and I understand that a full restaurant can put pressure on both the kitchen and the front-of-house staff. But being busy should never be an excuse for poor food quality, inconsistent service, or a lack of standards. We ordered the beef ribs, pork spareribs, and brisket. The portions were definitely generous, but the quality was simply not there. The brisket looked like it had been pre-sliced and left sitting in a pool of grease and juices. (as I asked the Server she did confirm this was true. ) It fell apart, yes, but not in the way great brisket should. It lacked the richness, balance, and true smoked flavor that good barbecue is known for. Instead of tasting freshly sliced and properly held, it felt tired and over-rested. The beef ribs were tough, and the pork spareribs were extremely dry almost like chewing on cardboard. That was probably the most disappointing part of the meal. For a place that has built its identity around barbecue, there was very little real smoke flavor in the meats. That alone says a lot. The barbecue sauce had decent flavor, although it was a bit runny for my taste. The barbecue beans, on the other hand, were actually delicious and one of the few highlights of the meal. Then there was the bread. We were told it was "half a loaf," but it was really just a very small piece, closer to the size of a bun. On top of that, the bottom was soggy, like it had been sitting too long on a steam table or in trapped moisture. The service was slow. The girls working were clearly busy and trying, but it did not feel like anyone was guiding them with real standards of service or hospitality. There is a difference between being overwhelmed and being untrained, and this felt more like a lack of leadership and structure. I also asked to speak with the chef. One server told me she would go get him and that he was there. Then another server said he was not there. That kind of inconsistency only added to the frustration and made the whole experience feel even less professional. I respect that this restaurant has been around since 1969, and longevity does mean something. But being around a long time does not automatically make a place great. In my opinion, they should not be pushing the idea that they are among the best barbecue spots in the country, because based on this experience, that is nowhere near reality. This is not even close to the quality standard of a true Texas barbecue spot. I was also disappointed by the overall condition and cleanliness of the property. I understand the idea of maintaining an old-school feel, but there is a line between rustic charm and an environment that simply does not feel sanitary or well-kept. To me, it felt like the latter. What makes this experience especially disappointing is that they clearly have the history, the name, and likely the resources to do much better. I do not mind paying for quality, but I do mind paying for quantity when the quality is missing. That is exactly what this felt like. I sincerely wish them continued success, but we will not be coming back.

I've had Pappy's in STL (Saint Louis, MO) and their ribs there are incredible. While this isn't as incredible as Pappy's, it is the best in Los Angeles. My husband got the full rack of baby back ribs with three sides and garlic bread. I ordered the half rack of smoked spare ribs and two pieces of dark chicken, mine also came with three sides and garlic bread. There was so much food we couldn't finish nearly half of the portions, naturally we took it home. As we left the parking lot we saw their stash of natural wood. Who knows how and where they smoke their ribs, could be an indoor Santa Maria set up, I've seen those in some restaurants. They're ovens that you lower the meat into, very expensive. I'd be curious to ask the owner next time if they can share with us their bbq set up. Service is welcoming, helpful and efficient. New owner since 2019, they have helped restored the main neon sign. Hard working family who recognizes the value of this restaurant's history and recipes. They have stuck to all the same recipes from the former owners. There are murals all over the restaurant and they're made by Disney animators from 1954, but the back room was my favorite. Seating is lovely throughout the restaurant. Glad we finally got to try this Los Angeles gem. Prices are fair in my opinion for bbq. Factor in the quality, volume of food, and dining experience and I think it's reasonable.

Having Martin and his team cooking on-site was a key part of our vision, so much so that we specifically searched across Los Angeles and surrounding areas to find a venue that could accommodate their setup requirements, including the 7-hour preparation time and outdoor space they needed. Leading up to the event, MFA was great, they were responsive, communicative, and easy to work with. Unfortunately, our experience on the wedding day was very different. We later learned that Martin had threatened to leave midway through cooking, which was extremely concerning. Additionally, both our venue staff and other catering staff mentioned that MFA was difficult to work with that day. While the food itself was excellent, the service fell short of what was promised. Our contract included two courses: First course: ribs, sausage, chicken, empanadas, and salads Second course: tri-tip/steak The second course was never properly served to our guests. When guests returned for the steak, they were told service was over and staff had already begun cleaning up. Some guests even tried requesting steak during the first course and were denied. To our knowledge, only maybe one or two guests were able to receive steak after insisting. We had also rented chafing dishes so that leftover food could be made available later in the evening. However, only chicken and salads were placed out, no beef. We didn't realize the extent of this issue until the day after the wedding. When we went to retrieve leftovers, we found multiple full trays of food, including large portions of uncut steak and ribs. There was clearly more than enough food to serve all guests the second course, yet it was never distributed. Many guests later told us the food was amazing--some of the best wedding food they've had--but also shared disappointment that they never received the advertised beef course. This was especially frustrating since our menu cards specifically instructed guests to "save room" for it. After the event, we learned that Martin had a planned medical procedure the following day. While we understand personal circumstances arise, it felt like the service was cut short so the team could leave early. This resulted in an estimated $2,000 worth of food going to waste, food that could have been served, offered to guests to take home, or at minimum communicated to us. Overall, while the food quality was outstanding, the execution and service on the day of the event were deeply disappointing and did not meet expectations for a wedding of this scale (160 guests).
