    Food and inside the restaurant
    Carissa P.

Nice mom and pop shop that's open late. The food was good, but not amazing, and we were thrown off by the 18% service fee tacked on top of every dine-in order, regardless of party size. They do have that listed on a sign at the register, but not on the menu so my party of two didn't see it since we dined in. We got the bulgogi bowl and the spicy pork bibimbap bowl (egg is an extra $1.50). Both bowls come with your selected entree over rice, with veggies, and miso soup. But I don't think the bibimbap bowl is worth the extra $4 to get some bibimbap sauce and different veggies. Overall a good spot, but would probably order take out next time or try something else.

I really enjoyed this spot! It's a Korean and sushi fusion cafe! It has a very cozy and comfy feel to it. Like you're eating at your grandmas house. Sushi wasn't available during my visit which was a bummer! Next best thing I was craving was their beef soup. The spicy beef is DELISH! 10/10 not really spicy but it has the perfect kick! Their beef bowl was pretty good 7/10 Wings were ok 6/10 It's a family owned restaurant. The mom, dad and son are all serving tables. Nice people! The dad even has an homage to the movie titanic since according to his son " it was the first movie he watched when arriving to the United States! Very sweet and meaningful! Definitely recommend and will be back soon!

We were craving some Korean soup from Burbank, so this was the closest from us. I ordered Beef Tofu soup, the soup tasted well but the beef felt like it was not fresh, reheated. We also ordered some Galbi Tang, great portion and it was good. There are few parking spots in the plaza but tight. The decor of the place feels really odd, like they have different kinds of furnitures and can't decide what theme they want. They even have karaoke set up. They require 18% service charge which doesn't sit well with me. I'm glad I did a to-go order.

LOVE this place- it deserves WAY more business!! Such a cute little Korean spot with all the goodies and more. Truly a slice of Ktown in studio city. They're even open late and have karaoke. Their BEEF BOWL YUM!! Their soondubu-jjigae stew with beef is also so delicious- a health potion. And of course their tteokbokki hits the spot. This one is in my rotation for sure.

Seoul Bistro has been on my radar for a couple of years and I finally got the chance to visit! Upon arrival you automatically get the Koreatown experience standing outside in front of the shop. The lights, the signs, the colors are all flashy and welcomes you. It pretty much screams "we got some good Korean food and you should come inside, NOW". The interior is decorated nicely and from my first impression, it wasn't exactly as I would have imagined. I loved the table arrangements they have and with a party of 3 we got seated in an unique cushioned bench like seats in the corner. When its my first time at a new restaurant I like to bring some people and order basically one of each of my favorite items just to see if I'll be coming back. For the 3 of us we ordered 6 different dishes. Our waitress kept telling us that we're ordering too much food. lol As the dishes started to roll in she kept telling us "I told you its too much food". My party and I didn't care about the comment as we planned to take the leftovers home anyways, but she was right! It was a lot of food ordered. The food was all great. We all got our Korean food fix one way or another. The only thing Seoul Bistro needed was a beer and wine license because when having Korean food you gotta have some soju and that was pretty much all that was missing. Parking: small private lot VERDICT: Rinse and repeat

High quality bibimbap with beef ribs (galbi). Comes with miso soup. I added an egg to the bibimbap. I debated between ordering the beef ribs (galbi) versus the sliced beef (bulgogi) and I'm glad I went with the beef ribs. Delicious.

Walking in you are transported to a k-town restaurant you're no longer in the valley. One of the few places that's isn't fast food that's open late. Service was friendly and fast. Your food is made to order. Few parking spots out front. Growing up in k-town I wasn't super impressed, but food was good, will be back.

I'm not sure if the chefs changed or maybe they're trying to cut back on quality but the last few times I've came in and ordered, for sure feels like it's for a different place. The tteokbokki I get has missed the egg for the 4 times I've been within the last two months. I also feel like the plate is loaded up with steamed cabbage (not kimchi) and broccoli but little to no rice cakes and meat. I've had maybe 3 pieces of sausage and a small bunch of bulgogi in the dish. It's a bit frustrating considering that this place is not the most affordable and the value isn't really there for me. The ambiance is ok. It has progressively gotten better on the interior but the food quality has suffered.

    Yukgejang and chicken bowl
    Jennifer M.

Craved spicy soup and Korean is always the answer. I had Yukgejang and it was flavorful and really good with rice. But it didn't come with rice, I had my own at home. I also got the chicken bowl but that was dry and not very flavorful. So definitely go here for the soup and probably fried chicken. Parking is kinda small.

I came here because I was craving Korean food. We decided to dine in and we were the only customers; my friend, her kid and me. After we ordered our food, we realize we didn't get water, which we didn't get until after our food. I asked her for more napkins and she dropped it, like gently tossed it onto the table while walking away, like no acknowledgement at all. She didn't check back on us after we received our food. And when I asked her for a to-go box, she handed me a small one, looked over my table and took the small one back and handed me a bigger one. While I was paying, I asked her for another one but the small one because I had leftover fried chicken and some bibimbap so I wanted to pack those separate. She looks over at our table to see if it was worth giving out another plastic box to a customer. After she scanned the scene, she handed me a small box. I give the boxes to my friend then walk back to her to ask for more chili sauce. She proceeds to look at my table again, sees that we INDEED used up all of it, then gives me another thing of it. I also asked her for more radishes since we have three cubes left and she immediately says they're out of it. Like of all things you run out of, you run out of those. I know for sure they're not out of those. She was being stingy from the start with the boxes. There was no need to keep looking at my table. When I say "looking", I'm not saying that she just looks past my shoulder. I'm saying she's reaching over the counter getting close to my face type looking. She can't see our table by just standing there. There were no other customers to begin with so there was no reason more this slow and unattentive (probably not a word) service, ESPECIALLY since they have auto-gratuity for dine-in customers. If you're going to add auto-gratuity, at least provide the service that they expect (for 18%). Overall, the food was good. I just wouldn't come to dine-in again but next time, definitely just getting to-go.

I enjoy the squash and potatoes that they put in their noodles though sometimes the potato is less mushy/cooked through than what I prefer. The portion sizes are generous so definitely come hungry or you can share as well. I've tried their bossam and jowl combo as well and both are definitely great in their own way, but I absolutely love the minced garlic sauce that comes with the jowl. The jowl is a fattier cut while the bossam is meatier.

I really wanted authentic Korean food that was not kbbq and not tofu and this place delivered! This restaurant is in a small strip mall. The strip mall has other Korean food options. They have a valet parking system of sorts but we didn't pay, we self parked. The attendant told us we were fine. It was approx 9pm when we arrived and also a week night. I have no idea how much valet parking is here. We were a small party of two. Upon arrival, we were notified they were out of RICE. Um..what?? That's a good problem (for them to have) but not for consumers. I feel this really limited our options to just soup. I honestly didn't want soup but there wasn't much else we could order. The bowls were large and came out piping hot. It was a satisfying meal and not too heavy. The price point was on the pricey side. Our waiter told us business has not been the same post covid. Some dishes are between $40-$60. I asked for a soup and they were able to make it less spicy. My friend got a soup with dumplings in it. He put a good amount of soy sauce to give the broth some life. Also, the banchan is on point. We asked for a refill and devoured the second portions. If you wanna impress friends with Korean food, bring them here! Its a casual place.

They raved about how good the spare ribs were and even insisted that their last meal before LA should be at Ham Ji Park.  Here's my belated review of what I consider the best spare ribs in LA. From the moment the Korean-style spare ribs arrived at the table, it was clear this was a dish worth savoring. Each rib bore a beautifully charred exterior--deeply caramelized without a hint of bitterness--offering that irresistible smoky aroma the moment it was placed before us. The glaze was nothing short of spectacular. A perfect balance of sweet and spicy, it clung to the meat with a glossy sheen that promised flavor in every bite. There was just enough heat to make your taste buds sit up and pay attention, but it never overwhelmed the deeper, richer notes of the sweet components. But what truly set these ribs apart was the texture. Beneath the charred surface lay meat so tender it practically fell off the bone with the gentlest tug of a fork. Each bite was juicy and succulent, the result of careful cooking and a respect for quality ingredients. Ham Ji Park, you will be missed. Thank you for the memories. Thank you for the food.

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
