As one of the more active Flushing nightlife spots, Cali Red Lounge feels like a pseudo speakeasy without the pretension. It has the vibes of a basement spot that is tucked away from the public, despite being a well known destination on the second floor off Main Street. It has been a local hot spot for years, as a default go-to during the wee hours. If it also happens to be a place where anything goes: karaoke, drinks, loudness, rinse, repeat. This is no glamour spot. I don't recall ever seeing windows (read: lighting is a bare minimum), don't be surprised if there's a cloud from smokers, the karaoke system is spotty at best, and it's cash only. To the folks groaning at the latter: there is an ATM upstairs. Also, beware of the bathrooms, you've been warned. However, the staff and usual hordes of folks make this place legendary. The folks behind the bar make a stiff drink and are friendly almost all the time. There is beer pong and dart throwing competitions happening at any given moment. Prices are very reasonable and it's open very late. Bring some excellent and be prepared for a super fun time. read more

Cali Read lounge was amazing. The bartender provided absolutely phenomenal service. The environment was beyond comfortable. We played connect 4 and drank all night. This bar is hard to find, almost gave up thinking it looked very sketchy, just get in the elevator and press to button for Cali Red Lounge. I was drinking my vodka-cran. I was on the sofa and realized I was partially unzipped. I zipped up and noticed the bartender was motioning to me. My drink was mostly finished and I gave her the okay sign. She persisted and I got up. She accused me of inappropriate behavior. I tried to explain, but she kicked me out. I am 62 and this is a first. Wow! I was charged $16 for my basic drink, she required cash (or I would reverse the charges), greeting was "cash only). Seems like lots of regulars come here. It's not a huge place but it's still spacious so you're not rubbing against ppl. Drink menu is also decently priced. Small tucked away bar on Main Street. You can play your typical dice games and drink your henny green teas. You can even smoke here, much like the other ktv spots in Flushing. What stood out to me is the beer pong table and the dart boards. There's 1 beer pong table and 2 electronic dart boards. Each player needs to pay a dollar for a game. I love this local bar. They have beer pong, darts machine and karaoke. You can either sing at the bar or have your private room. The room fee is usually $40/ hour but you can order drinks to cover the room fee. If your drink is $45 then you just need to pay for $45 and you dont need to pay for the room fee. Awesome!! I've been coming here for probably about 3 or so years. This place, to me, is probably the best dive bar around Main Street. To be fair, there aren't many left. A lot of the other bars in the area try to go for the upscale route, and there's a place and time for that. But sometimes you want something without all the theatrics. Something more stripped back and down to earth. This is a great place to kick back, get a beer, maybe some liquor if you're in the mood, have a conversation with the bartenders, and maybe your fellow bar compatriots if you're so inclined. Started talking to the bartender, everything was cool but she kept making remarks like she can ask me to leave and I can't come back if she didn't want me to. I visited Cali Red Lounge on a Sunday during Memorial day weekend. When I arrived it was about 1:30 AM ish and the vibe was questionable...very dead. HOWEVER, the drinks are BOMB and the bartenders are so awesome! Jasmine was such a sweetheart and really made me and my friend feel welcomed and comfortable. Prices are great too, just about $10 for every cocktail. They also have karaoke, but Jasmine explained when they are busy they do not turn it on (because they need to focus on making drinks for customers). If for reason I am in Flushing once more (unlikely), I would definitely check this place out again on the weekend, hopefully it will be more lively on a Friday or Saturday. read more

Ive been coming to Cali for about a decade. Staff legit so friendly, environment is so clean and welcoming, drinks are cheap (especially in this area where you can't find liquor) , and there's so much to do you'll never be bored. Beer pong, darts, dice and karaoke. They don't serve food but the staff invite you to order food or you can bring take out, no problem. If you don't believe me just ask they'll encourage you to. So they make you pay tax when they make you pay cash only...hmm... If that's not shady, what is? I went here for karaoke with a friend because literally every other karaoke place was full. That should've tipped me off; I should've known there was a reason nobody came here. The karaoke: song list was fine. Fairly updated. No remotes though, old system...oh well, it did the job. 3 stars for that. The karaoke wasn't the problem. The payment was. The manager told us it was 30/hr, plus tax and gratuity. They didn't tell us how much tax or tip was. After the session, we were hit with $9 of just tax and tip! OK, so payment is cash, but they charge 10% tax? And tip is 20%? The most outrageous part of it was that we didn't even order any drinks the whole time, because they did not tell us drinks were included. We literally didn't know until we read another Yelp review. So...thanks for the scam! I can't believe how underhanded this place is. Completely didn't tell us the drinks were included (my friend and I listened attentively to the whole tutorial!), claimed she "told us drinks were included" after we pointed this out at the end, and charged a ton of tax and tip when she didn't do a thing the entire time. At the end, about the drinks, she said with a nasty attitude that she'd make one, but "technically it's a favor and not usually done." Needless to say, we didn't take the "free drink". This is my first review but I had to post a review for this bar because it is one of the top bars to go to in Flushing, NY. The bartenders are very accommodating and attentive with drinks, waters and extra napkins when needed. Not only does this bar have great bartenders who have friendly faces but they have beer pong and darts!!! I am a more party game person and beer pong in a bar is the best of both worlds. Instead of drinking beer while playing pong and I had a delicious cocktail in my hand both of these things providing a comfortable atmosphere. Hole in the wall place upstairs from a dentist office building or something right in the heart of Flushing. Felt like I had to say a password and go through a handoff man to get in. Go to the mysterious "M" floor (wasn't sure if that was upstairs or downstairs) and you will find yourself in a dark bar with some arcade games in the corner, and a couple kareoke rooms on the side, and a decent size bar in the middle. It's a great in-the-cut place to go with some friends for a kareoke night and drinks, however I thought the management of the whole place was slightly sketchy, but didn't really mind, owner/manager and bartender were nice. I say a bit sketchy because you were allowed to smoke inside (haven't seen anyone smoking at an indoor bar establishment since early '90's, and it's cash only, and drinks are slightly pricey for the type place it was in my opinion. Not Manhattan prices, but not 2am Flushing, Queens on a Tuesday prices. I did see a table with cups for beer pong, so that's cool that they have that option. I'd go back if I need a spot to duck out in that's not crowded (although can't vouch for how this place gets on the weekends- I was here on a random weeknight). Service was amazing However the one star is because of the nasty manager and nasty attitude. When the bill came it didn't add up correct based on what we ordered, we told the manager and instantly she caught an attitude because we called it to her attention saying " oh it's only five dollars" yeh five dollar out of my pocket not yours. If you're gonna advertise specials in your bar and patrons buy these specials, don't give an attitude. Also this place is cash only, but still charges you tax and will automatically calculate your mandatory gratuity to the 18%. What kind of bar does this? I've been to a ton of classy bars in NYC that don't assume your tip. This feels like going to a dive bar and being charged 20% tip for every bottle of beer the bartender opened for you. Cali Red Lounge - Lounges Near Me - Flushing, New York

Cali Red Lounge is one of the few Flushing Main Street bars which I visit frequently. This Bar/KTV lounge is kept hidden within the confines of the building right next to Busy Mall however once you find the building, you just enter the elevator to the mezzanine level and you're there. Upon entering, a U-shaped counter is in plain sight with couches and tables set-up to accomodate larger groups. Private Karaoke rooms were also available but I myself have never tried out their rig. An abundance of different liquors are displayed on the wall with a few select beer options in the refrigerators. The available cocktails are generally limited to their menu but the owner Jasmine and the bartender Valentina can whip up a custom cocktail, provided the required ingredients are stocked up. Depending on which of the many bartenders makes your cocktail, the drink can range from decent to spectacular. I myself am partial to Jasmine's Irish Cream Coffee on the rocks. The prices are $6 for a beer and $8-$10 for cocktails. Non-alcoholic drinks such as coffee (instant) and tea are also available. The service provided during my numerous visits has been very accomedating. The bartenders ask you if you want another drink, refill your empty glasses of water or bowls of bar snacks, and even spark up interesting conversation; a perk not found amongst the other bars in Flushing which I have been to. The main lounge area has a selection of various American and Chinese songs where you can easily sing your heart out with a friend. The music is generally loud but not overwhelming, albeit having to raise your voice to have conversation. The incoming crowd is generally young and most of them are down to talk and relax. Based on my own personal experience, you can easily approach someone (assuming there is no language barrier) and just talk about anything or invite them for a game of dice or even beer pong. Because of its hard-to-find location, Cali Red does not get over-packed unless they have special event nights happening. All-in-all, Cali Red is a great place to go to solo or as a group to just unwind from the stress of everyday life. This place is more like a personal spot and by that I mean the same people usually are there, friends of friends of friends! They do have have beerpong smack in the center; 2 tables. There are some seating around the bar and there's also couches and sofas all the way in the back for a few parties (about 3 midsized). Drinks are as average as it can be, no specialization just usual beers. They also have karaoke rooms; I believe 2 or 3! System is unimpressive and songs are not up to date (last time I went). They DO have a karaoke at the bar which you may ask to do on request. I do not believe there is a fee, however it looks like its priority for the people that are usuals there! My very first time here and I had fun. They have everything you can think of to keep you entertained for the whole night. Karaoke (in English, Chinese, Taiwanese), beer pong table, full bar, and drinking games. Compare it to the other more modern karaoke bars, this place may seem not up to term. But it has great environment and vibes. Upon entering, there is an U-shaped bar with a beer pong table in between the bar and lounge seats. The employees are friendly and polite. They also provide karaoke rooms if your party prefers privacy. They have great song selections in Chinese, Taiwanese and English. Even though the KTV system is not modern, but the song selections are countless and current. I am not quite sure how the drinks are at the bar because we ordered a bottle of Hennessy and green tea. They have two darts machine for pay per game and one ping pong table with new/use able ping pong balls. Came here on a Saturday night, there was a beer pong table set up and Gamecube on one of the tables. They can give you die (dices?) to play with after you sit down. Ask the bartenders for list of songs that you can order on karaoke. People usually order a few songs so you'll have to be patient with the list but overall lots of people, good vibe and plenty of fun. read more

The other day I brought friends for karaoke but the room smelled like smoke from the previous party but the employees ventilated the room and sprayed air freshener. This is a good place for smokers in the winter. Non-smokers beware, the vents are ok. I came home reeking of smoke. My friend smoke, so she loves the place. The drinks are $8 and above. It's worth it to but a bottle and share with your party. They provide the juice, although it's not freshly squeezed, it keeps the liquor taste taste at bay. They do provide salty snacks for you. Went here with my friend, it was very hard to find but was well worth it. It is a small cozy bar that has beer pong and darts and even connect four.
