Holy Guacamooooole. This restaurant is a No. Gracias The Cali fries are absolutely disgusting. The cheese is an even melted, the fries are super soggy and they put in guacamole that has no seasoning and that is uncooked. Salsas not tasty or flavorful. We went inside to order 2-$20 burritos. We were shunned because we were wearing red/white/blue America t-shirts. They specifically triple checked our 2 burrito order after the 5 minutes spent to place the order at the register. They were not busy at the time & only had 2 other customers inside which is unusual for this popular establishment. Yet we waited 30 minutes to receive our 2 burritos. At this point we realized that our 2 burritos had been tampered with so we had to throw them in the trash can on our way out still fully wrapped & bagged. That was a waste of $40 & 5 minutes to place our order at the register & another combined 5 minutes for them to ask us again 3 times which 2 burritos we ordered so they could tamper with the correct ones & another 30 minutes to wait to receive them. It wasn't worth the risk to eat them after all that! First time I ever went to Cali Tacos. We went to dinner at around 6pm on Wednesday It took me a minute to decide what I wanted from the menu. Luckily the cashier Alexis was patient and nice while I took a minute to decide. I ordered the Coast Taco combo and a Shrimp Taco to go. And my mom, the Supreme Burrito with chicken. When we got home the food was packaged well and I enjoyed it. I very much liked the food and will be coming back again. The refried beans tasted how I like them. And the steak tasted good as well with a good texture in my opinion. Not too tough and not too raw and tasted great. Nothing really special, but still good. And the shrimp tasted good, fresh, and cooked well and the tortillas were in good shape. The salsa was also very good. As for the rice. It was also cooked well and had excellent texture. It was just a little salty. Just a little. The service was good in my opinion. Like I said, the cashier was patient and the wait time was acceptable for our order to be ready Unfortunately the place is really small. That didn't not bother me, but might bother others. The dining area is pretty small and cramped. I enjoyed my dinner as a nice treat. I think it's a little too expensive and I don't think the quality was QUITE worth the price we paid for. It was on the expensive side a bit. And I think the portion should have been just a little more than what they gave us for the money we paid. However, the food was not bad at all. I saw them on IG so I decided to give them a try. Yes, their Cali Burrito is HUGE. But that was the only notable thing about it. There were A LOT of fries in it. The carne asada was okay. I would definitely recommend opening it up once you get it to mix in the guacamole and sour cream as it usually just ends up on one side. Their salsa was nice and spicy with good flavor. I can personally do without the "Cali sauce," but you should at least give it a try. Seating inside is limited, but there is plenty outside. Food is made to order, so just be patient and you'll get your food soon enough. read more

Definitely one of the best taco joints in OC. The size of the tacos/burritos are massive. My favorite hands down is the fish tacos and they are massive! I can't speak for their tacos, but for their burritos you get what you pay for and more. Their burritos are massive. Definitely able to split it into two to three meals. While you're at it, you should also grab some sauce to pair with your burrito. Their special Cali sauce is creamy and definitely has a heat kick. The only other sauce I tried was their Verde salsa - and this was definitely milder but more liquid. Personally like their Verde because it provides the lime/acidity I like, so it's all about your preferences. ..... VEGGIE BURRITO: 4/5 solidly stuffed, there was hardly any bites of pure tortilla. Because he takes pride in what he does and wants to ensure a memorable decadent experience for all he even gets his meats and extra large 16inch Tortillas shipped from San Diego!! Wow oh wow talk about even more authentic!!! They legit have a burrito that might as well be a baby you cradle and is the size of your forearm called the Angel burrito that is their surf and turf burrito with fries and all the works plus uses two of their special XL tortillas! Their meat is so tender, juicy and flavorful, the tortillas have the perfect softness and chew while also holding together when you eat it. They have a sauce they use called their Cali sauce and honestly it might as well be crack! It is SO FREAKEN GOOD and addicting! I wish they would bottle and sell it nationwide cause I'd put it on everything!! The fish tacos were so flakey and crunchy and the fillet was massive. The Rolled tacos were super crunchy as well, the adobada OMG please sell that by the pound as well! The ham and egg breakfast burrito you could have for breakfast and lunch, their fries topped with all their homemade creations...dear lord everything is amazing! They have another crazy creation called the FTB (Fries, Taco, Burrito) that was basically a massive 16 inch quesadilla bowl filled with your hearts desires as well...guacamole, fries, meat, sour cream, their crack Cali sauce, whatever meat you wanted (get it with adobada...you thank us!!), etc.... The best part? This thing doesn't cost you an arm for an arm's worth of food. You can get one for under $9. That's a steal! They will ask what type of sauce you would like for the food. They have the traditional green and red sauce, but not pico de gallo. They also have their Cali sauce which tastes kinda like a creamy chipotle mayo sauce. If you like that kind of thing go for it but it totally ruined the taste of the Cali burrito for me. It's salsa verde (green sauce) all the way. All that being said if you're looking for a place that will not satisfy but destroy any hunger you might have with flavors as epic as fists to the face Cali Taco is the place to go in OC. So we called calis tacos and let them know what happened and asked if they can please not put guacamole on the tacos. Since it's my money paying for the food. I was told no that they have to make what's on the ticket. It's bullshit that I'm now wasting my money on this company who is telling me they have to put an ingredient on the food that we specifically said we have a food allergy to. This place was delicious, we were just trying to get some fast food nothing fancy. This local spot was nice and fast and didn't require much effort to get there. The place was more like a vibe for teenagers. Us older folk didn't feel out of place but this is more of a young crowd type of hang out place. The food was very good. I normally don't like the steak fries from any place but this place makes an extra effort to make the fries crispy so that way they don't get too soggy.
