I was thrilled with the quote when I…read morereceived it, however, somewhat dismayed with the wait time of 6 weeks to get my car in for repairs. Nonetheless, as the gentleman that I dealt with seemed polite and professional, I agreed to wait. I dropped the car off on a Friday, only to find out the next week that the parts had not come in. They did not come in until Tuesday, and after calling in the afternoon, was told that the car was being worked on at that point and would be done by Wednesday. I called at noon on Wednesday and was told the car was done. I was a bit dismayed to find the final price was higher than the quote, but paid the bill and left. Prior to leaving, I walked around the car to look at the repairs, only to find that one key part of the repairs had not been completed, and yet I had been charged for it! When the car was brought in for an estimate, I had been told that it would not need to be painted as the bumper could be buffed out to remove black marks on it. Suffice it to say, the bumper was never buffed out! I went back inside and spoke to the gentleman that I had been dealing with all along, who came out, saw what I was talking about and could do nothing other than offer excuses! There was no apology or what can we do to make this right, but rather a slew of excuses -- we are short staffed... we are human... I am doing everything... When I asked how it was possible that no one had to inspect the repairs and sign off on them before finalizing the bill, he told me that would have been him, but he was busy doing everything else! I told him that putting a repair down, claiming to have done it (and not actually done it) and charging for it, is fraud. He did not seem to care at all. Their solution? The next day a woman called and told me that they are sending me a check for $24 for it. Thank you for nothing. Additionally, now I question the quality and accuracy of the rest of the repairs! We will NEVER use this business again, and strongly urge others to think twice! I urge this business to rethink their supposed guarantee as well -- how can you guarantee the longevity of the repairs if you cannot even be counted on to do the contracted repairs to begin with! Unbelievably dissatisfied.

They even identified damage that i had not noticed and repaired it. The repairs took a while, but they were upfront about how long it would take. They can't order the parts until they are sure about all the damage to the vehicle, which they can't always see until they disassemble the affected areas. I am very happy with my experience.

This business has been a nightmare to deal with! The owner of the business died from Covid a couple…read moreyears ago, and it's Jackie, the wife of the deceased, Angie, the daughter, and Sammie, the son in law running the business. They rarely ever answer their business phone, and all communication is done via email by the daughter who does it from home. The daughter claims that they had several techs when I first made my $9,100 deposit on April 12, 2024, and now they only have the son in law, who was rarely ever there doing any work. They made the mistake of getting greedy and overbooked themselves, and, unlike the founder of Gilson's Auto Body, they have no idea how to run a business. Every time I contacted the daughter by email, I was simply strung along with excuses and lies. I told them they should have refunded my money when they realized they were overbooked instead of keeping my vehicle indefinitely without it getting repaired or giving me a completion date. But Angela, the daughter, tried to gaslight me by telling me I was the only customer that wasn't patient and compassionate, despite the many negative reviews they've gotten over the past 2 years. But, after over 6 weeks of waiting for them to even start working on my truck, I finally had enough and on Friday July 5th I filed a complaint with the New Mexico Justice Department Consumer Complaint Division. The following Monday, they sent out a group email to all of their customers that they are closing their business for good and will be locking their gates and appts must be made to pick up vehicles. But I had to threaten that I'd bring a police escort if they didn't allow me to pick up my truck and they finally let me pick it up on July 11, 7 weeks after I originally dropped it off! In the email notice, they also stated that they plan to refund deposits to all their customers, but it could take up to 90 days because they first have to sell their building and business to be able to get the money to pay customers their money back! They also threatened to file bankruptcy if anyone tried to force them to give them their money back before 90 days! This business is not only dishonest, but they are fraudulent. They take your money and make promises they can't keep! Then they spend your money and aren't able to pay you back when they fail to complete the services that they promised to do. If they don't return my $9,100 deposit within the next 30 days, I will be taking them to court and filing a lien against their property and business!

A young manager has no managerial skills at long. I don't think they will be in business much longer. Stay away from if you need something done. You will never get on time. There good at blowing customers off.
