On July 22, 2025, I came in to get a repair estimate after a hit-and-run, as part of my State Farm insurance claim. The staff inspected my vehicle, provided a printed estimate, and I agreed to schedule the repair for the following Tuesday. I signed a standard repair agreement and left. The next morning--less than 24 hours later--I contacted State Farm to let them know I had changed my mind and preferred a payout so I could handle the repair on my own. State Farm immediately contacted the shop to cancel the appointment. That's when the problems started. The shop claimed they had already ordered parts and demanded a restocking fee, even though: * No one told me verbally or in writing that there would be any cancellation or restocking fees; * I never authorized them to order parts immediately; * The cancellation occurred less than a day after I got the estimate. When I asked them to waive the fee given the short timeline and lack of disclosure, they refused. Worse, they are now refusing to send the estimate to my insurance company, which is delaying my claim payment. It feels like I'm being held hostage over a fee I never agreed to, just for exercising my right to cancel. This kind of business practice--hiding fees and then withholding documentation--is unacceptable. I expected honest, transparent service, but instead I've been met with obstruction and unfair demands. I cannot recommend this shop and will be filing a formal complaint with the state and pursuing legal action if necessary.

My Aunt Danette had asked what I wanted for a big deal birthday gift. The damage on the car I got an estimate for came from 2019 when a larger vehicle hit the front passenger side of my car after running a stop sign. Upon arrival at Maaco, I pulled in to the estimates parking area and went inside. I was greeted by a friendly worker and asked for an estimate. The total preliminary estimate was $2,213.63. After getting an okay for the repairs as a birthday gift on Thursday 19 June 2025, I called Maaco in the morning on Friday 20 June 2025 and scheduled a 10:00 a.m. slot on Monday 23 June 2025 for bringing my car in for the repairs. I dropped my car off Monday morning with no hassle. The following evening, Tuesday 24 June 2025, I received a call asking if I wanted any additional damages on the car addressed during repairs. I stuck with my original plan of just the one area of the car. In the afternoon on Friday 27 June 2025, I received an email/phone call that my car was ready for pick up. I went in after the email/call and found a few pluses, including it being vacuumed and washed before I got it back. It was beautiful and dentless! The bumper area and bolts I was primarily concerned about were fixed. Driving it back home, it was a smoother and quieter drive than I had anticipated. A pleasant surprise. I waited a few minutes when I came to pick it up and the indoor waiting area was quiet with comfy seats. At payment, my payment method of cash was accepted. During repairs a piece from one of the door handles, front passenger side, went missing, and I was informed they had already ordered the part at no extra charge and they would fix it when the part came in and I brought my car back. The tentative delivery date for the part was Monday 30 June 2025 and I was told they would call me when it arrived. On Monday 14 July 2025, I called to follow up on the missing piece and was informed it had come in. When I arrived about 12 minutes later, I pulled in to the estimates area, spoke to a worker at the front desk, and they fixed the car while I sat in a comfy chair in the front waiting area. The part took about 4 minutes to install/fix and I was on my way. All around I had a smooth repairs experience and appreciate how my car is doing now.

During my time in the office there, I watched Tyler, Paul and John work professionally with not just myself but all the other customers, too. I'm so glad I got my car painted in the summer. Now I'm ready for winter, and there is no way that other drivers won't spot me in the snow--I mean, how much contrast can you have, anyway---I love it! I asked Zacks to drain, fill the oil, replace the oil and engine filters. I had already purchased an oil filter, engine filter and Luca oil additive. They quoted me a price of 150.00+tax. I thought it seemed a little high for an oil change but didn't know the going rate. I explained I wanted to donate the car and asked them to recommend any repairs that would be necessary. Upon receiving the car, they told me that the engine filter was not the correct type, so they could not install it. Fair enough but I assumed it would be taken off the bill since it wasn't installed. The harness wires needed to be cleaned, and 2 relays had to be replaced. It would be an additional 600 to 700 hundred dollars. I decided to donate the car anyway and let the Vets know what needed to be done. The car ran fine and cleaning the harness and replacing the relays would be up to them. Upon returning home, I realized I had left the new engine filter there. Before retrieving it, I called other auto shops and asked how much it would cost to drain and replace the oil and oil filter. (I had the oil filter) I was surprised to learn on the high end; it would cost around 85.00. I told them I had paid 150+tax (168.75) and was told for that price, the shop must have flushed the engine too. When I returned to Zacks to retrieve the engine filter, I asked if they had flushed the engine. The first person I asked said yes but his English was difficult to understand and he seemed unsure, so when the owner came with my engine filter, I asked again if the engine had been flushed and he said no. That I didn't ask for a flush, just to drain and refill. I agreed but said I called around and was told to drain and fill the oil would cost around 85.00. With a flush around 150.00. If they hadn't flushed it and didn't install an engine filter as agreed upon, I felt 150.00 was too much. That's when he went off the rails and literally started yelling. He said he didn't use cheap products and used Penzoil. He said if I wanted a flush, Liquid Molly cost 75.00 a bottle and I needed two bottles. I said I had bought engine additive and had compared it to Liquid Molly and Liquid Molly was only 21.00. Even with their mark up, how could they charge 75.00 a bottle? I argued since there was no flush and no installation of the engine filter, there should be a reduction in price. All he had done was drain, fill the oil and screw in the oil filter (I had brought) for 168.75. He said no. I said I felt taken advantaged of and told him I would be writing a review and it would not be a good one. He then called me a F--king B-tch and said I was a racist! He said because he was from a different country I thought I could get a cheap deal! I said that was absurd and I'd rather be a F--king B-tch than a f--king cheat. He said he was calling the police because I was a racist and leaned on my open car door to prevent me from leaving. I told him to get off the car, that he was welcome to call the police and I would let them know he had attempted to detain me. He relented and I drove off. Needless to say, I will not be returning. What an experience!
