I was referred to CarStar Collision by the Lynnwood Honda dealership for the repairs needed on my 2025 Honda. I'm extremely pleased with the care they took from beginning to end, everything was done in a timely and thorough manner. They actually care about their customers and they have a great team over there. I was assigned to repair advisor, Jeff who was great to work with. He managed the entire repair process from ordering parts, submitting insurance authorizations and overseeing quality control. I frequently spoke with Raye who often provided repair updates, car rental coordinations, she was very friendly and helpful. The manager, Lisa was also very professional and accommodating. 1-Star Review I had a very disappointing experience with this body shop that I feel compelled to share. On July 22, 2025, I came in to get a repair estimate after a hit-and-run, as part of my State Farm insurance claim. The staff inspected my vehicle, provided a printed estimate, and I agreed to schedule the repair for the following Tuesday. I signed a standard repair agreement and left. The next morning--less than 24 hours later--I contacted State Farm to let them know I had changed my mind and preferred a payout so I could handle the repair on my own. State Farm immediately contacted the shop to cancel the appointment. That's when the problems started. The shop claimed they had already ordered parts and demanded a restocking fee, even though: * No one told me verbally or in writing that there would be any cancellation or restocking fees; * I never authorized them to order parts immediately; * The cancellation occurred less than a day after I got the estimate. When I asked them to waive the fee given the short timeline and lack of disclosure, they refused. Worse, they are now refusing to send the estimate to my insurance company, which is delaying my claim payment. It feels like I'm being held hostage over a fee I never agreed to, just for exercising my right to cancel. This kind of business practice--hiding fees and then withholding documentation--is unacceptable. I expected honest, transparent service, but instead I've been met with obstruction and unfair demands. I cannot recommend this shop and will be filing a formal complaint with the state and pursuing legal action if necessary. read more

I was referred to this business by my Toyota Dealership, apparently they have been tasked by the dealer to deal with any cosmetic or auto body related orders. I had a minor touch-up that needed to be done that, through normal wear and tear, left an underbody body panel somewhat hanging. It didn't affect the performance but it looked unseemly. I was hoping for a relatively easy repair, maybe being charged from some new fasteners that would make the part look seamless again, instead of having to order a new part altogether. Ivan @ Carstar did my expectations one better. He looked at what needed to be done, found some fasteners that were laying around and got the panel attached seemlessly with no extra work needed. Didn't even charge me! I asked if there was anything I can do to pay him back and he said well, if you want, you can put a good word in with us on Yelp. This was in the summertime on a '07 Toyota Matrix. Due to human failings, procrastination and looking for my login, it's now Fall and I am only getting to this. These guys are fantastic. Only three weeks after having significant damage repaired with them, I had another situation where i caused even more damage on the other side of my car by running into an extended bike rack, destroying my two right doors. Maybe it was because of my tears that they agreed to fix this far earlier than they were scheduling everyone else. Within a week and a half my car was fixed and I told them with a hug that I hoped I would never see them again! read more

Solid auto body shop that delivers the goods! THE ROSES: Excellent communication! They kept me posted via e-mail and calls every step of the way. They are very thorough; they found additional damage to my bumper interior that the insurance adjuster missed, and made them increase the amount they'd pay. The insurance company also wanted to use used parts for the repair, and this shop went to bat for me to ensure that new parts were used. Good quality repair; my car honestly hasn't looked this good since the day I purchased it! THE THORNS: None. While my car was in the shop middle of night they didn't lock my car and someone open door and stole my stuff from my car. And they blame me for that and they said if they lock my car they may broken in and that's why they didn't lock the car that's what they said to me. And blaming homeless people nearby. Pretty disappointed in this shop. I dropped my SUV off after my it was damaged in a parking lot. The repairs were paid by the insurance of the other driver. I requested two quotes. The first, was for the damage from the accident (passenger side of vehicle) being paid by insurance. The second, was for damage from a prior accident (driver side of the vehicle) which was my responsibility - a direct pay out of my pocket. Important note: The insurance company would provide and cover the cost of a rental car while damage was being repaired. I drop my car off and CONFIRM I want both areas of damage to be repaired (insurance and self-pay). I call on 4-days after drop off and ask how's the work going and I'm told the person who's working on my car will call me next week. I receive a call on Monday and the dude who's working on my SUV informs it will be ready for pick up on Wednesday and curiously asks me if I also wanted to have the direct pay work completed? WTF!!! Of course I did that was the whole point of dropping off the damn vehicle while insurance was covering the rental. The work was to be completed in 1-3 days so it would not have added to the rental expense. The information was NOT passed on from intake to repair - major fxck-up from the reception area and total lack of CUSTOMER SERVICE. Dude offers for me to bring the car in the following week because it's too late to add the additional work onto the current work order. My response - HELL NO. Had they offered to cover my rental car if I retired for a second time I may have considered it. The thing is - I wasn't entirely happy with the repairs...placing carnations in a passenger side car after repairs and crappy customer service is not good enough to earn more than 1-star. I still see the minor damage on my bumper (passenger-side). I'm done and disappointed - it's the first time I had to have body repairs to any vehicle I owned - it wasn't the best experience. read more

BEWARE First. The repair took two months. The last 3 weeks of which, they stopped calling me, so I had no idea what the status was... Second. When I finally picked up the vehicle, there was a NEW, two foot crack across the windshield! The manager and estimator basically said too bad.... For a business that is supposed to specialize in restoration. Returning customers property with new damage, then dodging liability. Is ethically or morally questionable. I scraped a concrete post in the parking garage and on the recommendation of a friend took Toyota Tacoma to the When they gave me the rundown on what they did I was surprised to find out they decided to just replace the fender.  Apparently on Toyota pickups the rear fenders bolt on.  So basically my truck is just like new, no bondo required.  They also said that the paint job that they did comes with a life-time non-transferable warranty that covers potential issues like peeling. The staff was friendly and easy to work with.  I would not hesitate to recommend this shop to anyone who has to get their car fixed. read more

I had a terrible experience from staff lying, not honoring the insurance adjuster's agreements and turn around and charge me the difference and didn't complete the job. Communication with Courtney was horrible. I texted her twice to bring to her attention areas of the car that needed repair because the virtual estimate from the insurance company did not show those specifics areas clearly. Brought my car in on a Tuesday, On a Thursday and Friday, I texted Courtney and she didn't reply back . Texted her again on the following Tuesday because Monday was a holiday. Called her and she never returned my call. Texted her telling her to read the last two texts and to give me an answer to my questions. And she texted "yes." When I picked up the car after 2-1/2 weeks in the shop, the areas on the car that I specially brought to Courtney's attention the work was not done. And on top of that, my car didn't start, it was dead. They tried to recode but after half hour, I was told to go home and they will get the car to work. Now I am waiting for a call from my insurance adjuster and maybe another week without my car. If only Courtney would have read my texts, return my calls and if she didn't answer she could have call for clarification. Or maybe she could have looked at the car to see the problem areas I was texting her. This is such an inconvenience of my time and extra cost on car rental. I wonder if Courtney is the owner's daughter and that's the reason why she is allowed to work there even though she's incompetent, irresponsible and a liar I said they are liars, my insurance adjuster and Courtney agreed with the estimate and I would not pay the extra labor cost and just pay the deductible.But they didn't honor it. They said I signed off on it. No, I did not, I reread and scribbled out my initials. They lied to the adjuster said I put my initials, scribbled it and rewrote my initials over the scribble. That is a great lie!! Because I told the girl, I am scribbling this because the insurance adjuster and Courtney made an agreement and that is why I am here getting my car repair because Lynnwood Honda recommended them.The adjuster asked for a copy, they sent her a copy and the adjuster agreed with me that I scribbled out my initials to not agreeing paying the difference on labor when they already made an agreement with my insurance and would only pay the deductible. The second, paperwork for the second claim, I didn't put my initials on any parts but they did work on my car anyway and charged me extra. Liars and thieves!! I wanted to take the time to write a review for this facility in particular. The patience it took for their staffing to finally get the re-reimbursement and the proper authorization for my car to be fixed was amazing. Well beyond what they should have gone through. Here's a little background, My car got hit while I was parked, and though claims and all the calls i finally got a call back from the other parties insurance. I found a location to get my car fixed, but they could not get the job done for 3-4 weeks down the road. I called Carstar and Courtney & Shannon Pippins where just amazing. They maintained constant contact via e mail and or calling me to keep me updated on the progress of my car and the claim process. The car was already done and the Insurance company was blaming me for switching to another Auto Body shop. Implying that if I did not switch to another location then the other collision location would have not cashed the payment. The ladies at Carstar called Travelers insurance multiple times and the Claims adjuster was not returning their calls. It was fricking insane!!! After 2 weeks that my car was sitting in Carstar's garage, the other parties insurance finally sent a check to Carstar. Thank you Carstar for being amazing, from the beginning till the end: calling me to set up the apt. dropping off my car, having a rental car (Enterpize) ready to go, finishing the job quickly and professionally, hounding the other insurance to get the payment, and keeping me in the loop. The care was washed, cleaned and had a nice flower that I was able to give my wife as well. You have gained a new customer and I will recommend you guys any and every time. read more

I've taken at least four or five of my car is here in the past 10 years. A couple of times the work wasn't up to snub oh, but I kind of brushed It off. Most recently my bumper was repaired after an accident. Part of the bumper was coming undone. While on the freeway after work if you came much much worse. When I had call to see if it would get repaired through the warranty THE OWNER told me the damage was my fault and would be charging me the full 1400. If that's the quality of work they provide and the supposed warranty covers nothing why go here? Not even a, "let me see if we can patch that up for you", or a "we can't give you a full repair but we can hold it together until you can afford the repair" Nothing. And it took SIX emails to the owner to finally get a copy of the warranty. To which it is basically my word versus his word. Overall save yourself the trouble and don't go here. Due to an accident, my insurance recommended this car shop and I had a great experience. They gave me all the information I needed to know. Jason kept in touch with me through emails about my car, Marc did an amazing job at explaining all my repairs and the customer service from the front desk greeted me well! They finished my car a few days quicker than estimated and my baby came back looking brand new! I didn't have any work done here, but they handled an estimate for me and made it a very pleasant experience. Some drunk lady in a PT Cruiser kicked my ass when I was at a red light a couple weeks ago, and managed to total my truck. So there wasn't a lot for CCC to do, but they took delivery of the truck without any hassle, and put the estimate together in under 24 hours. Very capable and straightforward throughout. It's hard to say for sure what the quality of work is like here, but the facility certainly looks like it has everything going for it. It's almost a compound--a big back lot for cars waiting for decisions, and the whole thing is ringed by an absolutely massive fence. There are multiple garages inside the fence: presumably painting, bodywork, mechanical, and so on. There's a small office with a waiting room as well. When they're open, they pull the fence back and you can hang out indoors while you wait--magazines, TV, very cool saltwater tropical fish tank, and even a little putting toy with golf balls and putters for your amusement. I wasn't going to review these guys since they just did the estimate, but the staff was super nice. They helped me get my stuff out of the truck and pulled my license plates (special plates I want to keep for the next truck) for me, and they were always super nice on the phone and very logical and kind. Missy in particular doted on me a bit when I told her I'd been in a wreck, and I really appreciate that. These guys (especially Missy) clearly are used to dealing with people who are creaky and achey from collisions--one of the detailers remembered me and asked how I was doing when I had to come back a second time for the plates. These guys aren't the cheapest, but they seem to run a really good operation. read more

They did an excellent job with my car, and were very communicative about the process when the timeline got changed for reasons outside of their control. They were also VERY helpful when it came to setting up the rental car (even scheduled it for me once I got the reservation number from the insurance company) and made dropoff of the rental car really easy. Hopefully I won't ever need them again, but if I do, I'll surely use this place. read more

Pretty decent workmanship and efficient/convenient service. We had our Subaru repaired there after a multi-vehicle collision that damaged our front and rear bumpers. The first repair was the rear bumper which took a LONG time due to parts availability. The front bumper repair went much faster. Both times the staff are aged a rental car and communicated with our insurance. Deducted one star because of a couple "loose ends" after the repairs were done. Added unnecessary charges and displayed unprofessional conduct. I went to Car Star Edmonds location upon recommendation of an acquaintance to have my daughter's Toyota repaired after minor front end damage which she was at fault for in a accident. My insurance on which she was listed as a driver issued a check to us after getting an estimate from their recommend shop. ( Not Car Star) At this point I visited Car Star with hopes of having it repaired for the amount my insurance provided for the repair ( $1600). The young lady who helped me at Car Star estimated that they could repair our car for the amount provided to us. She informed me that should the actual cost go up they would seek the extra from our insurance. At this point I reminded her that this was out of my pocket and no longer involved my insurance. She told me they could make it work for me and provided an estimate for the amount agreed to. Upon arriving to pick up our car after repair I inspected it and was satisfied with the repair. However when I went to pay I was told it would be an extra $500.00 for insurance deductable. I told the young lady, who was the same person I delt with initially, that I had previously told her the deductable had already been deducted prior to the check being issued to me and that I had not agreed to the extra amount. I was direct but not confrontational and reintegrated that it was out of pocket . At this point she started crying and a male co worker asked me to explain my complaint. He showed me the estimate I sighed and it is true that she had added the $500 to it and I had not seen that she had. Bottom line the female estimator was extremely unprofessional for first adding extra charges against my wishes and upon my complaint starting to cry for no reason. I offered to meet them half way on the unnecessary charge for deductable but they refused. I recommend that no one go to this shop or if you choose to, beware of what you sign. They treated me in an unprofessional manner, added charges against my instructions and insulted my integrity by trying to insinuate that I was being abusive to their estimator which was far from the truth. I can't recommend CARSTAR enough. Their communication with me was fantastic from beginning to completion. The workmanship was flawless and it came in under the original estimate. They coordinated a rental car and had it ready for me when I dropped my car off for the repairs. They also communicated directly with my insurance company & made sure they followed through with their commitments. When Damage Analyst Pete Lawton put my car up on the lift, he was able to fill the hole with rubber sealant right then and there, and said there would be no charge to me or my insurance company! I was thrilled, and offered to pay, regardless, and he said it was an easy fix, so no charge whatsoever! I got into a collision and brought my BRZ into Carstar for an estimate. There were some damages in the suspension as well as the front fender/bumper. It is important to note that I wanted to use my own aftermarket parts for the fender repair. Jeff, who I am assuming is the main person for estimates, tells me that they can work with outside parts, although they prefer to deal with parts they order themselves. About a couple weeks later, I bring my car in for a repair with new fenders I just ordered. Jeff was not there, but the people receiving the car and the fenders assured me that it should be no problems, and I left after getting picked up by the rental car provided by my insurance. A little more than a week passes, and I receive a call from Jeff saying that Carstar will not be able to repair the car because working with aftermarket parts "isn't what they do". I would have been completely fine if they didn't want to take the repair job, but I don't understand why they had me bring the car in twice, and took more than a week (while having my car and the parts there) to notify me something they should told me on the first visit... especially when I was constantly asking if it is ok to use aftermarket parts. Not only that, my spare change and phone charging cables were definitely missing after I received my car back too, and I am not saying this because I am being bitter. But now I feel like I should have recorded the odometer to make sure they didn't take it for a joyride... read more

They handled all the paper work with the insurance company and even had my rental car waiting fo me when I dropped my car off! It definitely did not get dropped off in that condition.....I have a 1 yr old. There was a bottle of touch up paint and a fresh flower waiting on the seat. Picked up my Mazda yesterday. We had some damage to the rear light and bumper - about $800 worth of work to be done. The worked looked great - but since it was a "easy" repair I can't really say much about it - but I can for sure give them 5 stars for the customer service. Starting on the day I went for my estimate. I was given a fresh hot cup of coffee and some chocolate while I waited and the wait wasn't all that long - 20 minutes later and I was on my way after being walked through every aspect of proposed repair. A week later I arrived for my scheduled drop off - Enterprise rent a car was there - at 7:30 AM with a rental..I was off and on my way within 15 minutes. 3 days later - time to drop off the car - they give you the option of leaving the rental at the Clinic. Because the Enterprise location was so close by I opted to drop it off there and have them bring me to the Clinic. But either way - its so easy! But the condition I got my car back in - that was just over the top - included was a small can of touch up paint, a fresh carnation, a litter bag, and a detailed car (not just a slap and dash vacuum job, I am talking about a full cleaning!). WOW. This place really does go above and beyond. If I ever have another "uh-oh" it will be Collision Clinic Carstar I'll be calling! read more

I was rear ended by a semi truck. The personal in the office was very pleasant, but the body work could have been done better. I had to argue with the body shop about the bumper not matching, broken glass laying around in the tailgate, body panels damaged and to this day not fixed. The manager finally fixed the miss matched bumper, well doesn't match completely. But I get tired arguing with these guys. read more

I am a return customer, having had a wonderful experience two years ago. Once again I received excellent service during appointment and the resulting repairs were flawless. However, this time, when the bumper ordered did not arrive in useable condition, I was not informed and therefore self paid for three days of a rental car I did not need .Apparently Pete neglected to tell Courtney about the damaged bumper, leaving her in a rather untenable situation. I am sorry this communication breakdown occurred as this facility has superb body(men) who go above and beyond for excellence and the staff is unfailingly courteous. My daughter had a small "fender bender", requiring the replacement of the left front fender and front header panel on her 2000 Cherokee. I have already purchased the fender and header, and am in the process of finding a place to have them painted Having been recommended to carstar by the local ford dealership, I was extremely disappointed in the total lack of customer service that they provided. Carstar refused to even quote me a price to paint the 2 panels without having the entire vehicle brought in, even though I let them know that 100% paint match was not required. It appears, to me, that they're only interested in large jobs & create "hoops" to jump through to avoid doing the smaller ones. read more
