1 Star - I would give zero if I could I've had a horrible experience with this repair shop from start to finish. During the first repair, they mentioned they were trying to get my car back to me before the weekend. I wasn't in a rush -- I had a rental -- so I don't know why they felt the need to rush the job. And it showed. The paint came back with rock flakes, waves, and a completely uneven finish. When I arrived for the first pick-up, I pointed out the issues, and they had me wait about 10 minutes so they could "polish" the car. Even after that, it was still not done properly. I had no choice but to take the car over the weekend because I had already returned my rental. While I had the car, I noticed even more problems. My temperature display was completely wrong -- it was 85-90°F outside, and my car showed 32°. My check engine light came on as well. When I informed them, they said a sensor under the front bumper was broken that wasn't before. After picking it up the second time, I immediately noticed a clicking noise coming from the same wheel I was hit on. Instead of taking responsibility, they claimed it wasn't related to the accident. I paid out of pocket for a separate diagnosis and was told my axle was actually broken. Then I waited two weeks for the part to even be ordered. When the supervisor eventually called to say my vehicle was ready again, it was late in the day and I couldn't just leave work. I told the manager clearly that I would be there right at closing time. This is the third time I came to pick up my vehicle--after returning my rental again--the associate refused to help me because I arrived two minutes before closing. When I showed understandable frustration, she actually kicked me out of the office, saying she had to get home to her kids too as if that excused her behavior. When she finally handed me my keys, she didn't apologize or even walk toward me. She stood at the door and dangled my keys for me to walk up and grab. To top it all off, they didn't even wash my vehicle, which most shops do as a basic courtesy. This entire experience has been nothing but stress, delays, poor workmanship, and unnecessary out-of-pocket expenses. I absolutely would not recommend this shop to anyone. read more

I just picked up my car and it was better than I expected. I of course everything to be better, because Caliber Collision are the experts. What I didn't expect was the warm welcome I received, the level of expertise and knowledge that flowed from Gabriel. As he assessed the damages of the vehicle, he was sure to assess my well-being first, checking to be sure I was okay. Getting the facts from me so he knew not to just assess the visual damages, but to inspect the weird noises I heard from the accident that may not have shown up visually. He took me thru the process explaining how he was going to remedy the repairs and made me feel confident. I'm not a "car" person, so I don't know what to look for, but what I do well, is notice the little things that people do that are above and beyond. And what I noticed, was not only did they make the repairs so you couldn't tell that it was damaged in the first place, but my cup holders were spotless, amazingly clean. Yes. Avoid This Shop - They Broke Our Car and Denied Responsibility! We took our car to Caliber Collision Milpitas for repairs through Progressive. What a nightmare this turned out to be. When we picked up the car, we immediately noticed that the airbag warning light was on. This had never happened in the 10+ years we've owned the vehicle. We have before-and-after photos of the dashboard that clearly show the airbag system was perfectly fine before the repair. After many frustrating calls, we were told we had to pay out of pocket to have the issue diagnosed at the dealership--something we shouldn't have had to do, considering the car was damaged while under their care. The dealer's inspection confirmed that the SRS module had been replaced and was not compatible with our car. There's absolutely no doubt that something happened during the repair that caused this problem. Yet Caliber Collision denies all responsibility and refuses to fix it. This place not only failed to fix our car properly, they actually made it worse. Now we're left with an airbag system that doesn't work and a huge bill. Do not trust Caliber Collision Milpitas. They break things, cover it up, and leave you to deal with the mess. read more

Before today I would have given four stars. After today, I need to put some things down in writing. Technicians obviously know their trade, but we consumers also need to be aware of the practical limitations of Caliber's after-repair "lifetime warranty". My Honda CR-V had an accident back in July 2023; its back was semi crushed and the front was damaged also. Insurance referred it to Caliber for repairs; that went well and the car was back on the road on Aug 31. Now in Jan 2024, the front distance sensing radar --- which Automated Cruise Control relies on --- suddenly reported an obstruction and stopped working while I was driving on Central Express Way on Jan 27 late morning. I did not collide with anything nor was there any dirt/insects i.e., actual obstructions, as my post-drive inspection showed. I then took the car to Caliber on Jan 29, hoping that their life time warranty may cover the radar unit --- which they replaced during the 2023 repairs and therefore should cover. However, after half a day of leaving the car there, Abel (phonetic) the manager called and denied warranty because I could have bumped into something and caused the damage myself. The evidence? Some scratches on top of the Honda H emblem on the grille. See attached photo. Abel said that technicians suspected that a collision compressed the grille/emblem which led to it obstructing the radar. It would take a couple hundred dollars to attempt a radar calibration --- at Caliber or somewhere else. I consulted a working mechanic in my family who said in principle grille compression can lead to obstructed radars. But if we didn't feel the collision, it probably didn't happen and the radar is most likely faulty. Hypothetically, could a collision leave damage that began affecting the radar only weeks or even months after? Recall that the car was fine after getting out of repair on Aug 31 2023 --- until now. To be honest, I left Caliber today with a load of suspicion. But since this may be a your-words-against-mine situation, I just wanted to note my experience here for further reference for y'all. read more

Don't waste your time. Go somewhere else. There's a girl that sits at the front desk with red hair. She is extremely rude, needs to work on her listening and customer service skills, and gave me misinformation. I came in for an estimate. I told her my situation, but apparently she didn't listen at all. She assigned and reassigned my appointment to someone that was just hired. The guy conducting the estimate was nice, but unfortunately, I CANNOT USE THE ESTIMATE. The whole point of the estimate was to submit to my insurance, but she marked it as customer pay. WHAT IS THE POINT OF GETTING AN ESTIMATE THAT ISN'T VALID??! I got the estimate, talked to my insurance, only to find out that the estimate is not valid. What is the point of wasting an hour if the estimate isn't even valid?? I called back, and she indicated that she told me this when I called in. Catch this - this was the first time I ever called in. I walked in to schedule my appointment, and physically appeared to get my estimate done. She was adamant and didn't even apologize for the mix up. She never told me what the difference between customer pay and insurance pay was. What she DID clarify, was how to get warranty repairs - that I'd need to pull up my prior work order. She kept blaming me indicating that she told me when I called in - again I NEVER CALLED IN prior to the current conversation. She must've remembered a different person, but honestly, an apology would have sufficed instead of me having to sit there and listen to her blame me and wasting even more of my time. Like most people, I work Monday - Friday and they are closed at 4:30 PM, so I would have to time off work in order to get ANOTHER estimate which should have been done properly the first time. I addressed my concerns and she didn't even offer any suggestions or even attempt to remedy the situation. I mentioned going to a different repair shop since she didn't offer any solutions and to make matters worse, she said I could contact Mountain View (where I work) Caliber Collision, that they have 2 locations in Mountain View, and my claim would get reassigned and I would not have to contact insurance and waste additional time. ONCE AGAIN, GIVING ME FALSE INFORMATION. I called Mountain View Caliber and they told me I need to contact my insurance to get the claim reassigned. Mountain View also told me they don't have availability until 2 weeks from now. I just need an estimate... ***She is bad for business and Caliber should highly consider hiring someone more professional.*** Huge waste of time - all for nothing. My car was in a fender bender and it couldn't have came at a worse time with the holidays just passing! Called shop and front desk lady was able to get me a same day appointment, super professional. They told me they will order parts needed and once they arrived they called me to come in which to be honest this is not my first accident so I am glad they didn't just keep my car waiting not knowing when parts would come in, etc. The functionality of this shop is way better then old shops I've been to, this expedited repairs and they also offer lifetime warranty which makes me feel at ease. I've had the worst customer experience from Caliber Collision for my car service. Firstly, their employees commit to calling/emailing you by the end of the day, but that does NOT happen at all. They told me this around 4-5 times and I had to follow up all the time. Secondly, they committed to completing the car repairing in around 45 days but it took more than 2 months for them to finish the task. Within that process, they were not good at keeping me informed and I had to call them all the time to know about the current status. I would not recommend this location to anyone!! My car was stolen, window broken it was a nightmare. My insurance took my car to get repaired at this location. Communication was great. Christina at the front desk was responsive and always kept me updated. I was also in contact with Jorge, the painter. He went above and beyond to make sure the car was properly painted. This guy takes pride in what he does and it shows. Idk who the body man is but he did great. All in all the whole team was amazing. We were referred to Caliber through Farmer's Insurance (the carrier of the person who rear-ended our car). The staff at Caliber (Miriam Sanchez was our contact) were professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and kept us informed throughout the repair process. They arranged for a rental car (also covered by Farmer's), and kept Enterprise notified of the changing end date for repair completion, so we didn't have to worry about the rental car return date. When we did pick up our car, Caliber had already arranged with Enterprise to come to Caliber and retrieve the rental car. The work done looks like new, the car drives and sounds just as before the collision. This extremely grateful review is for Will and Gabe. My car was leaking windshield wiper fluid. From the moment I met Will, he wanted to ensure I had transportation so he went ahead and ordered a new tank while my car was still drivable. Once the tank came in, Gabe started the repair processing and found out that something was inside eating up my windshield wiper wires and etc. I had planned to wait the entire day (while working remotely) but Will and Gabe tried their best to get the repairs completed much earlier (even retrieving needed parts they found out last minute) amongst their busy end of the month work period. Will especially kept checking in if I was comfortable waiting but their waiting area is very comfortable. I even felt the vibe of the work environment and it felt like everyone behaved like a family.
