Recently the DMV required my trailer to have a brake inspection. After an accident my insurance company listed my trailer as salvaged requiring me to certify that the brakes worked after the repair. Liberti's was one of the only certified shops in Santa Clara county authorized to inspect brake systems. My Hyundai Elantra had a loose/broken wire in the steering column assembly that caused my car to lose its power steering functionality. I tried reaching out to several auto shops to request the wire repair, but they either couldn't do the repair or never got back to me. I found Liberti's on Yelp and gave them a call to describe the issue; I wanted to see if there was a chance they could help before driving the car to the shop (which would be tough without power steering). Steve, the business owner, answered my call; he was very courteous and attentive. Because the root cause was electrical, he estimated he could help, and took me up on my offer to look at photos I had taken, which I emailed him later that evening. Steve called me back the next day, said they'd be able to repair it, and I drove my car in that same afternoon. Parking was easy (plenty of spaces), and meeting Steve was very pleasant. He printed out my work order estimate, and I gave him my keys and left. It was clear to see that he's passionate about the work he does and equally passionate about saving customers money from going to the dealership. Later the next afternoon, Steve called and told me the work was all done! I picked up the car, paid, and was on my way. No more steering problems! I was very happy because the total repair cost ~$300 (including parts), which saved me a ton of money because the dealership wouldn't have repaired the one single wire; they would've replaced the entire wire harness instead which would've cost $1,000 - $2,000 minimum. Just bought a house across the street and thought I would try and support a local shop by servicing my fleet of vehicles here. Shop would not work with Ally Major Guard insurance so I had to pay out of pocket to get my car back and take it to ford instead. It was very gratifying finding an honest and professional vehicle repair business. Steve was extremely helpful diagnosing an issue I had with my 2004 Toyota Sequoia electrical / battery issue. I had purchased a new battery from Piercy/Envision Toyota in Milpitas about a year ago. It temporarily fixed the issue, but if I the car still experienced electrical issues, (car wouldn't start, dim headlights) Liberti's performed a complete electrical diagnostic and discovered a issue with the battery. He suggested taking it back to swap our the battery at Toyota dealership, Toyota said there was no issues with electrical system, and refused to replace the battery under a two warranty. Took my truck in as I suspected my batteries were bad. The tech stated that the batteries load checked at 100% and the problem was most likely in the electronics control panel and he could not help me there as it was a dealer only part. I bit the bullet and took my truck to the dealer for test and was informed that the batteries were bad and load tested at less than 20% capacity. After replacement of the batteries my truck started and ran perfectly with no further electric problems. So all in all take what Liberti's says with a grain of salt. read more

Liberti's was recommended to me by a long-time South Bay resident, so I decided to contact them when it was time to take my car into the shop. I filled out the appointment request form online and they called me after 1 business day to talk about what I needed and to confirm my appointment. They were very polite and communicative throughout​ the whole process. I needed an oil change and I had an odd dash light on that I wanted to get checked out. They gave me an initial estimate over the phone, and fit me in the next day. When I arrived, the parking lot was very easy to find and navigate, and they got to work straight away on my car. In just over an hour my oil was changed, the dash light was off, and I was headed out the door. It would have been even faster, but they had to wait on my oil filter and morning traffic slowed that down a little bit. Overall, the price I paid was lower than the estimate they gave me, plus they gave me a lot of helpful information about my tires and brakes from the inspection that they include with their oil change. I drive a Fiat, so it can be hard to find a good mechanic who will work on my car. I will definitely come back to Liberti's next time my car needs service. read more
