Caliber Collision, and specifically, Nathan Garcia delivered the best service I have ever received at any repair shop. After a fender bender I brought my truck in to Caliber Collision for repairs. From the moment I checked in, Nathan handled my situation with real ownership and a level of professionalism that stood out immediately. I told him I had a narrow window to get my truck repaired before an RV trip. He said he was confident he could beat my deadline. He finished the work in half the time I expected, and the quality was outstanding. After pickup, I discovered a tire had been damaged during that same period. The shop workers were not responsible, and I made that clear. Nathan still took the initiative to talk with his manager and made sure I was taken care of. They replaced two tires to keep the tread wear consistent. I've never seen a shop step in like that and I'm not just grateful, but inspired by that level of customer service. Nathan set the bar for customer service. He is knowledgeable, proactive, and genuinely committed to helping people. My experience with Caliber Collision was exceptional because of him, and I will return here specifically due to the way he handled my repairs. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of integrity and workmanship at this Caliber Collision location (1603 W Loop 1604 N). After a repair in August 2024, I've had nothing but issues--mismatched paint, peeling, and a faulty grille shutter. Recently, I heard persistent squeaking and discovered that multiple supports on the bumper had snapped. When I reached out to my service advisor, I was pushed back and was told the parts were new and "couldn't fail," completely ignoring the reality of the installation. Because I needed my car safe for commuting, I replaced the broken aftermarket parts with actual Toyota OEM parts myself. Upon removing the bumper, I found shocking evidence of negligence: 1. The bumper reinforcement bracket was loosely attached to the impact bar and not mounted to the bumper at all. 2. Holding retainers were missing. 3. Screws were mismatched or missing entirely. 4. Electrical wires were installed incorrectly and left hanging. Despite their "Lifetime Warranty," they are refusing to take accountability for poor craftsmanship and unsafe installation. Be careful with this shop. The communication is not great. I had service done on my cadillac. They ordered the wrong light this was in February 2025. We are in June and my light still not fixed. I had to call my insurance company and the corporation office. Ill let u guys know what to place. I waiting to get it fixed. Almost 3 months to order a headlight crazy I know. read more

If I could it would be a 1/4 star, horrible work!!! Took truck not 1, not 2 but 3 times and still couldn't get it right.... 1st time got truck back with stuff falling off, fish eyes all through paint and was given excuse insurance doesn't cover it yet clearly they are fish eyes in paint as well as dirt particles painted over... you painted the entire side so why wouldn't you just take care of lil scratches or chips or at least tell your client so it can be addressed instead of letting them assume... inside was full of dust from sanding, engine full of sanding dust, truck wasnt washed afterwards and yet your supposed to be insurances go to!!!! Never communicated with me instead I had to keep calling service advisor Robert NEVER called but 1 time for key to my toolbox and I instructed him its the only key I have and he lost it!!! Damaged bumper pad when took bumper off tore my tail light for blinker and acted like it was like that so I fixed my tail light and had them fix bumper. Had a list of things to do when took back and asked to check front suspension and alignment which didn't so got truck back and still wasn't right. Axle was spitting grease out and alignment never done. Went to different location and thought might get done right met with manager and USAA agent and he agreed with things. Waited over a week to drop off and in 1 day replaced axle, aligned but only buffed (so they say) and paint job still look scrappy and was told insurance doesn't cover that and those are rock chips!!! Mind you back door was replaced and completely paint yet same spots on that door is what is throughout that side and was given the excuse again... fustrated I took truck back and now waiting for the regional Shane to call me back as I earlier attempted 5x and left messages only to finally get call and be told he had phone issues. Now waiting for him to call again to go over all this. And this is just some of the issues I didn't list them all and I have photos.... read more

Extremely poor communication and the employees must get bonuses based on renting cars because we were asked about a million times if we wanted a rental car, after repeatedly saying "NO". Worst place to take your vehicle. I've never had a bad experience with customer service and a job less than half complete. I had to return my vehicle three times for multiple mistakes or unfinished jobs. Jasón one of the managers there said he would make it right but nothing has been done. STAY AWAY!!! 5/15/2020 Update First of all I contacted the manager or area manager as per their request on yelp via email on 4/23/2020 and have yet to hear from anyone. No phone call or emails returned. To add on top of everything else I took my car for a car wash and water began to pour in from my passenger side door. I went back to Caliber and sure enough they said yes they had to adjust a seal that was not properly placed. My car was involved in an accident March 2023. I brought it here to be repaired. Upon completion we noticed the front bumper was not sitting in right. We pointed it out to our rep, and he agreed. He explained the part was after market. He would contact the insurance and order the bumper from the dealer. It is now the end of May 05/31/23 and no new bumper. It continues to sit lower and lower. Every time we call we get the run around. Oh doesn't look like it was ordered. Oh looks like it's here but hasn't been painted. No one every calls us back and now the driver side window makes a loud popping nose when you roll it up. I would not recommend anyone going here. read more

This was the closest recommended place by USAA insurance to go through. Was hesitant at first from past experiences at another Caliber Collision location. The facility was clean and had a spacious sitting area as well as a place for kids to play. When I showed up for my estimate appointment they said they had me down to leave for repairs that day as well. There was some misunderstanding at first but they were friendly and assured me that everything was taken care of including the rental vehicle but I did not feel pressured. Enterprise does have a remote location at their facility which made getting a rental too easy! They have called and updated me on the repairs/where my vehicle is in the process with an estimated completion date. They completed the work on my car earlier than anticipated. The work was well done and came back washed and vacuumed. I did voice some concerns about the paint on the edges. Christina apologized for the over sight and quickly took it back and had it corrected. She also insured me that I have a life time warranty on all repairs/paint. I was pleased with the sense of professionalism by the front desk staff Pearl. I will definitely go back if I have any other vehicle body repairs. read more

My 2014 Corolla was wrecked in mid Dec 2022. Decided to take my car to caliber on 1604 but couldn't get it turned in until Jan 12th. Nathan Ramos was my service technician. He thoroughly explained the process and told me my car would take an estimated 3 weeks to complete if all went well. He was very professional, courteous, and knowledgable and kept me informed all along, at least twice per week, as to the progress of the repair. He convinced the repair techs to do very minor cosmetic repairs from some previous damage with little additional costs. I actually had the car back several days before the 3 weeks were up. First, due to the low rating on Yelp I had my doubts about this body shop; but reading other review pages I got a better feeling about using them. My 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan had some minor damage to the passenger doors that required them to be replaced. The work was done in a timely manner and everything looks and works like before the accident happened. I had put some aftermarket trim on the doors and they reinstalled it perfectly. Our estimator and contact throughout the repair was Nathan and he maintained constant contact with us. This is the second vehicle Caliber has repaired for me. The other was at another shop. I took my vehicle here after a rear end collision. It was recommended by the insurance company. I know I have a choice of who to use but not knowing where else to take it, I selected it and I thought that I could always go elsewhere if I felt this wasn't the place for me. A lot of reviews here mention lack of communication or poor service. The moment I arrived, someone popped out of their office to greet me, called my assigned rep to the lobby, and was given a good explanation of the process. My rep was Mr. Nathan Garcia. He called me every few days and left thorough voicemails if I didn't answer; was apologetic for any parts delays; and even offered to come on his own time if I needed a Saturday pick up time. When the car was ready, the battery acted up so he dropped me off at work and brought me my car later that day after they fixed it. As a supervisor myself, this is exactly what I seek in my staff who serve the public- someone with a strong work ethic and can-do attitude. I'm no mechanic but the body work on the car itself looks good, the paint matches, and I'm happy to have it restored. I was treated with respect and appreciation for my business. My vehicle had some significant damage on the right side. As I'm new to San Antonio, I was uncertain as to where to take it. I looked online and came up with this location along with a few others. I got estimates at other places and got a feel for each company before I came to Caliber. When I got there, and I met Josie, I was blown out of the water.. No contest, I was going here. Not only was the entire service department fluid and effectively working with each other, the interaction I had with customer service was phenomenal. I felt absolutely secure in leaving my vehicle there, and unlike other places was given a fantastic quote, and assurance that my Geico insurance would take care of everything outside of the deductible. I primarily worked with the young lady named Josie. She was very engaging, polite, pleasant, and knowledgeable. She was able to answer all of my questions on the spot. I felt completely secure with her knowledge base on my vehicle. I also knew that she would take great care of it while it was in the shop. I left, very happy with my decision. Within a matter of two days of work my vehicle was ready. I felt like the company really made me a priority! As well, during the time I was waiting I received multiple updates through text message on the status of the car, that were uplifting. The morning I was supposed to pick up my car I could not find a ride, and Josie mentioned that the car could be delivered to my home! Unbelievable! That's the best service ever. Shortly after my car arrived not only repaired fabulously, but was washed and detailed inside and out. It looked new! And to top it off it was the service manager who delivered it himself. He was so pleasant and easy to work with and asked if I was satisfied with the service, (which of course I proclaimed I was). He was very friendly and professional. I'm almost 50 years old, and I've been to multiple service places around the nation as I am military. I have never encountered such great service, such favorable people, such professionalism. 300 dollars of tools stolen out of my truck along with with everything thrown all around on the inside of the truck I call to inquire about it and they tell me I had signed a waver and nothing I could do about it. and had an attitude of who really cares but you would think that with the 1000's of dollars worth of OTHER PEOPLES PROPERTY they would care a little more about our property but apparently not. This location was nasty, ugly, attitude and really didn't give a crap and it showed terrible costumer service, no empathy. Caliber was a quick easy process. Appointment was 0800 and was complete with them by 0815. Enterprise on the other hand was a different story. They had no cars on the lot when I arrived or completed. Their rep was no where to be seen. Later I found out they have one rep on location and he had left to help shuffle cars. Ok, give them the benefit of the doubt... but was then told it's an everyday thing. Being there was 2 other people who had 0800 appointments, only two rentals brought over... already an hour behind, I suspect I'll be sitting here much longer. If this does happen to you, remember it is a business and crap happens. Watching an adult throw a temper tantrum because they think their time is more valuable than others is not attractive. Woah, the only reason I'm giving this company a single star is just so I can create a post. Original date of repair August 2021 Late day of repairs Dec 2021 Nearly a 6-month ordeal! The technicians may or may handle your repair if it's more than one area you've pointed out & needs to get worked on. They'll "forget" or get this..... cause more damage to your vehicle. Hoping you don't notice or they'll state the damage must have already been there. The fact that I took photos and videos prior to each repair is what saved me from being taking advantage of. I had two locations work on my car and hoping the second location would get things right. But yeah NOPE! Managers of the location were instructed to deal with me only and over see the repairs but of course that doesn't happen. You're left dealing with someone else and NEVER meeting this manager. All the back and fourth, PTO used, gas, voicemails, emails, texts messages, etc., I was only able to get compensated for a faction of my deductible. This is even me dealing with Corporate, Regional Mark or Shane(whomever is actually the Regional), and Steve Grimshaw(CEO). At the end Caliber's greeds lost more than just a customer. I will never refer them and I'll definitely spread the word of how shady they are. Save yourselves from the long headache!!! read more

Where do I start! My insurance company recommended this place to do body repairs. First issue was front desk scheduling. They mixed my days up that my insurance adjuster scheduled. I finally brought in my vehicle which was stated to be done in a week. My tech Anthony contacted me saying they were not done and needed more time to. Two days later I needed my car as my father had surgery and I needed to get to him. Well car wasn't fully completed but Anthony said take it back when I return. Well next day I noticed a BURN hole in the back on my headliner! Anthony said his manager gave me two options to give me back my deductible which was $1000 or fix the repair. I asked for them to fix the repair. Now to get the headliner it would take two weeks. Now two weeks gone and passed I tried to reach them to schedule an appointment phone system sucks! Finally walked into the facility and asked to schedule an appointment which the girl at the front desk knew who I was and went to talk to her manager. When she got back out she rolled her eyes and said Oh! Your headliner is $1000. I said Okay? Your group is fixing it! She said per my manager we will get this done Same Day bring it in by 8am. We proceeded to schedule the appointment. Come to the day I'm scheduled I WASN'T ON THE SCHEDULE!!! Twice Now! So, I became frustrated and she brought out someone to help me. The gentleman said okay we will have this done sorry about the issue call you around two pm. He calls to tell me they need another day because they didn't realize they had to remove the windshield! Hello! Even Anthony my previous tech knew it needed to be calibrated but he left and I see why! The shop got me a rental free of charge and now they said they need another day after I had to call them to get an update. Front desk says manager would call me back as to why they have to keep my car but ONCE AGAIN NO PHONE CALL!!! TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT! I will be writing corporate and getting names. This is absolutely ridiculous and I will be compensated! 05/20/21 UPDATE: I called this morning and the manager didn't even want to speak with me he passed the call to his service lead. They ordered the wrong color for my car and it would take two weeks to get a new one in. Then proceeded to say that Toyota actually has it because someone canceled a previous order . I still have yet to hear back about the work that needs to be completed on my vehicle that the area manger was going to have completed for me it's been over 7 months now so I think that I will never hear back about this situation they got paid and made me think about my old insurance company who I dropped because of the situation. Never ever take your car here. They kept my car for 2 1/2 months. When I finally was told I could pick it up I still had to wait for over an hour while they wrangled with the other guys insurance company to make sure final payment has been processed. Then when they finally brought my car around they had not put on the front license plate and there was compounding wax all over the hood and top. I had to wait an additional 45 minutes for the license plate to be installed and the compounding wax to be taken just off the hood not off the top of the car. The person who brought the car to me and the attendant behind the desk were very nice and told me if I had any other issues I could bring it back. I told them "honey at this point if it didn't have wheels I'd still get it out of here somehow." I called the next day to complain and all I got was busy signals all day. Overall my score is an F minus. read more
