After getting rear ended, I went to Caliber Collision to have the bumper repaired. They did a good job with the repair Shortly after that we had a lot of rain and a good amount of water ended up in the spare tire area. Since the shop had removed the taillights to access the bumper, I suspected the leak was a result of seals not being properly reassembled, damaged, or missing. The shop's manager got involved to ensure the car was checked thoroughly both by removing parts and doing a water test. Because of their careful checking a different source for the problem was discovered and we have a plan to fix it. A+ for support after the main job was done. read more

Brought car in after our car was hit while parked on a street. 15 minutes after driving it off the lot, the right front bumper fell off. Our car was hit on the driver's side door so caliber said since the car was hit in another location than the right front bumper, it couldn't be related to something they had done or the impact of the accident. read more

I stopped by without an appointment to see if they could help me remove a significant amount of paint on the side door panel of a BMW. I was very worried it would need to be completely repainted. The office manager came out and looked at it and went into the garage to get some solvent. He took the time to rub the compound on the paint and it came off without damaging my paintjob. I asked him how much I owed him and he said it was free of charge. We also had other work done there in the past and they were super professional and did a great job. Highly recommended. read more

After getting in an auto accident from a fender bender, my insurance company recommended getting the car fixed here since it was one of their preferred in-network auto shops and would be able to handle all the insurance aspects without my involvement. They are appointment only and can become quite busy so make sure to call them as soon as you can to make an appointment. They were very nice and turnaround time was about 2 weeks. Everything was fixed nicely and you can't even tell any damage was done. If you rent a car, you can actually drop it off with them, which is a nice touch. Overall, I highly recommend them and know I can trust them if I ever run into another auto issue. read more

My expectations were high and I was sorely disappointed with the communication and service at this caliber collision location. My repairs were a result of being rear ended a year ago and caliber was a preferred provider for the insurance company of the woman who hit me. It started out great as they were able to schedule me quickly and a as soon as I dropped off my car I was sent texts telling me I would be getting regular updates on the repair progress. The expected communications never came and at 4:00 the day my car was supposed to be finished I called to find out when I could pick up my car only to be told it was not ready and wouldn't be ready for several days. The day I picked it up the person who was supposed to be communicating with me apologized for the lack of communication and I drove off with my car. I drove to the grocery store less than a mile away and in the different light I could see that the paint job was terrible. Literally dried drippy paint! I immediately called and brought it back. They said they would work on it and again more empty promises for better communication. Luckily for me I stopped expecting communication and just figured it would take a while. Then a few days later I got a text that my car was ready. I said I would pick it up in the afternoon, then just 15 before I was leaving to pick it up, they called to say it was still not done right and they would have to work on it some more. Keeping in mind every time I think I'm picking up my car, I have to fill my rental car with half a tank of gas, which is a review for another day but who needs to have to have to try to fill a tank that you don't know with half a tank of gas again and again and again? Anyhow, the car is finally ready and they offer to drop it off at my house. They do so and I go out of town. Several days later I drive my car and there is something dragging and making a racket under my car which has never happened before. I can tell it's loud because the people walking with their dog next to me stop and stare as I slowly drive away. I call the shop to talk to them about it because this is something new. Many miscommunications later and again my car sitting at their shop being ignored for days and they want to charge me three times what my mechanic can do it for after telling me that they would take care of it free of charge. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this shop for repairs unless you have lots of time on your hands and the patience of a saint! This was a huge inconvenience for me since the car being repaired was the one I share with my teenage son and he couldn't drive my rental car. What was promised to be a one week repair turned into a one month ordeal. Consider yourself warned! read more

I'm going to have to get myself either a new car or a Caliber frequent flyer card. Caliber has saved me and my car yet again. On my vacation up the coast, my car became peppered with pebbles from one of those semi trucks hauling sand and rocks. My poor car had a million little chips all over it, including the windshield. San Carlos helped me get into a rental so I could continue my trip north and pick up my baby on the way back down. She looks all shiny and new again thanks to Manny and his team. After a minor scrape, I went looking for a repair. We have a high deductible, it was a minor job and the guy who hit us lied to the insurance so I figured the repair was on us. I checked with a couple of local shops to pay it out of pocket. They were both friendly and gave me a quote. Both said I could bring it in the following week and it'd take 4 days. After talking with my agent, he said to submit the claim and it wouldn't effect our premium so I did. I stopped by Caliber Collision, (large corporate chain), after Farmers Insurance recommended them as an approved shop which would make the whole experience a lot easier. What a mistake. I walked in and the two people behind the counter gave me a look like, "what does he want?". Another employee turned around and looked at me with the same look. I told him I was a Farmers client and I was sent here for my repair. He asked me what I wanted. Ummmm, to look at the car and see what you'll do, when I can bring it in and how long it will take. "Oh, you'll have to make an appointment..." "I just want you to take a quick look at it..." "You'll have to make an appointment..." "Why, I just want a quick look at it..." "To give you better service" "Ummm, OK, when can I make an appointment?" THE FIRST APPOINTMENT WAS 2 WEEKS LATER! He looked at me like I didn't have a choice. I said I'd think about it. I did have a choice, and I'm never going to step foot inside Caliber Collision again! I recommend to use a locally owned shop where you'll be treated as a good customer like you deserve. read more

I had the last appointment of the day, close to Christmas, at the other Calibre collision on Industrial to remove a small dent. I went to the other location, but the receptionist told me that I had no appointment. I figured it was at the other Calibre Collision on Industrial, so went there. They also did not have me on the calendar (maybe my mistake?) but the manager swiftly assessed my sad situation, had one of his guys look at my car. I asked for a quote on the dent being removed and, as long as I was giving up the vehicle, to have some light scratches removed. I expected to get the quote, schedule a time to fix it in a week or so. The shop was closing, but they fit me in, removed the dent, bugged out the scratches.... in 5 minutes and for free! I begged the manager to accept my money, even if as a donation to the office Christmas fund. He refused, asking only for a nice review on Yelp. Well, here it is. These are pretty nice people. Our Mercedes E550AMG got hit in a parking lot by some idiot who didn't even leave a note. First, a quick shout-out to Progressive Ins. They were unbelievable. We filed our claim with them at 7AM and had a call from Caliber by 8:30AM to setup an appt. As for Caliber, we can't say enough about them. Our contact was Jon and he told us they would repair it to new condition. Not only did they completely come through on their promise, we can't even tell there was ever an accident. And, they finished the work early. They are true perfectionists. Jon was GREAT and called us daily to give a progress report. We have never had such excellent service from any type of car repair shop. Having heard we were celebrating our 42nd Anniversary, they even had a card waiting in the car wishing us a Happy Anniversary! We would give them 10 stars if we could! read more

My car was hit while parked in my driveway on Christmas, the guy had farmers insurance, they recommended Caliber . I called made an appointment to have them check it out. They took some pictures and told me they so-called me with an appointment. The next time I drove the car I noticed a hissing sound coming from the vent. I called over to Caliber to tell my service advisor Bryan. He wasn't available so I spoke with a nice lady. She said she would make a note but yo remind Bryan of the issue when I bring my car in. I received a call to bring my car in for repairs. Upon arrival I made Bryan aware of the noise and he said he would check it out. About a week later they called to say my car was fixed . I went to pick it up and was told by Bryan that the noise I was hearing was normal. Mind you a loud hissing noise that I NEVER HEARD before my car was hit it definitely not normal. I took the car and left made an appointment at the dealership and they said the damage was definitely due to the hit to my front in and even after have a certified dealer mechanic confirm with photos they refused to accept my claim and I was forced to pay for the repairs myself!!! Stay away from CALIBER COLLISION! Rude, and ridiculous!!! I've actually made arrangements to have them and Farmers investigated. Completely incapable people over there!! read more

Upon recommendation from a dealer, I filed a claim for my damaged (fogged up and cracked) headlights for my Lexus sedan. I brought my car into Caliber. Immediately, I was greeted by a super friendly receptionist who offered me popcorn, water, soda etc etc. Within minutes, service advisor Junior Calonge took a look at my headlights and said, "Cancel your claim! This is just wear and tear". He then proceded to head to the back of the garage, came back with compound and a small hand drill with a sponge attachment. He proceeded to polish my headlamps and logo. The immediate results were astonishing. The headlamps started to restore t'ss shine and clarity. Mr. Calonge took the time to explain what I should purchase to do a more thorough job and even gave me tips (use 1000 grit sandpaper and water) to make it look even more like new. It's so nice to see service like this and I wasn't charged a penny. I am totally going to recommend this place to others. What great service WITHOUT charge! Amazing! read more

I scraped my car on the back door and back panel on a rusty ladder. Took it into Caliber and a wonderful lady, Maha, checked it out, photographed it and then told me she thought the problem could be solved by buffing and polishing. I had them do this and you wouldn't even know there had been a severe scratch. Maha was so kind to me and actually sent me on my way without charge. I honestly don't think I have ever written a Yelp review before but after my experience with Caliber Collision, I felt the need to. My husband and I FINALLY replaced my car from an '08 Toyota Yaris to a '18 Mazda CX-5. With two kids and all their activities, it's the perfect car. Well, not two months after I got it, someone hit my car by trying to cram a Suburban into a compact spot next to my car. Needless to say, there was some damage and I was really bummed out. Took my car to Caliber in San Carlos for the estimate and John eased every single one of my concerns. I've had HORRIBLE experiences with mechanics and such so it left a bad taste in my mouth, but he was so friendly and helpful, didn't try to hide anything, didn't try to screw me over. He made me trust him and, let's face it, when you leave something as expensive as a car with someone else, you want to trust them. Today I got my car back and it is PERFECT. I am not much of a Yelper, but when I have a fantastic experience, I like to write a review. My car sustained body damage to the driver's side front bumper and door this last April. I was really bummed out because my car was brand new and it's my dream car (and, let's face it--no one ever likes to have major repairs done to their car). I asked around for a good body shop and was referred to Caliber Collision. I am so glad I trusted them with my car! Not only did they do a fabulous job on the body work, but they were so communicative each step of the way. The estimate process was accurate and efficient, and everyone I worked with was incredibly nice and informative. Because my car is a 2018 Dodge Challenger, it's not easy to locate the parts, so they definitely had their work cut out for them. Not a day went by that I didn't get a phone call from them with updates on the body work and insurance claim process, which put my mind at ease. It was returned to me looking like new--they even made sure it was washed and detailed before it was returned to me. I am so happy I chose Caliber Collision! Caliber Collision went above and beyond, and turned a stressful experience (a car accident) into an incredibly easy one. After a fender bender, my car needed body work and my insurance company referred me to Caliber. When I arrived, paperwork was ready for me to complete sign, and someone from Caliber came right out with me to take a look at my car and take photos. Calliber called a rental car company for me and arranged for a pick-up, and kept in touch via text message every day to update me on my car's progress. I want to mention John in particular, who called me several times as my near neared completion to update me on parts they were waiting for, and give me a few different choices about how to proceed. He knew that I was paying for a rental car while this work was being done, and he really wanted to get me back in my car as quickly as possible - which meant that he drove down to San Jose just to pick-up a temporary part in order to get me back in my car before a back-ordered part arrived. Dealing with a car accident - and the aftermath - can be so stressful, and I'm so grateful to Caliber Collision for making my car repair the easiest, most straightforward part of the process.
