Everything was great while insurance was covering the costs. I received reasonably timely updates. But when it came time to inquire about their much touted "warranty", they get pretty shady. My regular certified Subaru dealership told me the "new" radiator that was installed not even 11 months ago by Caliber needed repair. When I reached out to Caliber, the "gentleman" who answer the phone started his stonewalling... attempting to confuse me with corporate name changes and putting me on hold. He took down my information and I never got a call back. Their warranty policy is amazing until you actually need it. Luckily, I can afford to not bother with the Caliber henchman any further... Wow. Just wow. Had a minor fender bender and my insurance company referred me to Caliber Collision in San Carlos. My first experience with a body repair shop. Low expectations. Mind blown. Estimate process was very efficient, very detailed written estimate, parts were ordered and I was called the following week when the parts arrived. Was told it would take a week (replacing front bumper, repainting, etc)...I rented a car for a week. Got a call on day 2 that my car was ready!! What?!? Talk about under promise/over deliver!! My car looked brand new! They even got the wrinkle of my front license plate...my car was so happy! Lovely front desk assistant, very clean & pleasant office/waiting area (nice TV with nature documentaries playing, fridge of sodas/waters, etc). Bryan was my technician, he was top notch. I had fantastic service from Jesus and team at Caliber this week. I unfortunately backed my Mercedes SL450 into a truck breaking the tail light and damaging the body above and below it. I brought it in Monday to Caliber to get an estimate. Jesus was so prompt and fast with the quote that I asked how soon they could do the work. He asked if I wanted it done immediately. I did and he said he was pretty sure they could get it done by Friday. As I was ordering my Uber to get to work, he offered to have someone take me to work - awesome. On Thursday he called to say it was likely to take until next week to complete. Much to my surprise, he called today to say it would be ready by 3pm. When I said I hadn't planned for that, and therefore couldn't come get it, he asked if I wanted it dropped at my home in Belmont. Awesome again. He drove it himself to my house. The work was superb AND my car was washed spotless inside and out! Very pleased. read more

Made an appointment for an estimate and showed up the following day. The estimator Elizabeth came out looked at my truck and within an hour sent me an estimate for the repairs. Made an appointment for the following week and dropped my truck off for repairs. The repairs took only a day and half and came out perfect. Elizabeth sent texts updating me on the progress of the repairs which was great. Over all it was a very positive experience thanks to Elizabeth and the entire staff. Between the positive reviews and the fact that this place was a few hundred bucks cheaper than Cologne, I chose Caliber. Using Caliber Collision was a serious MISTAKE, which will never be repeated. My truck sat on their lot for five days WITHOUT THEM TOUCHING IT! Great place to park your vehicle if you don't need it. Probably would never have done anything if I hadn't called to ask for an update. Sometimes it's not worth saving a few hundred bucks, and sometimes you can't trust Yelp reviews :( STEER CLEAR OF CALIBER!!! Excellent service was provided when I damaged my Prius's entire right side by sliding along a cement wall recently. Each staff member were cordial and professional throughout the process of repairing the car and helping me to get to a car rental place. I received updates throughout the 10 days it took to repair my car. When I picked it up I was amazed at the results. Even though I was having only the damage side repaired much of the other side of the car had dings and scratches (including the bumper) from working/parking in San Francisco. They had thoughtfully buffed out as much as possible and restored the entire car to almost it's original state. In short, excellent service, excellent results. I had a excellent experience with San Jose location a while back on the repairs to rear end of my car at that time they were efficient and very nice work but today I went to San Mateo location asking for a quick quote on the front bumper the grill and license plate bracket on a 2015 Dodge Challenger with very minor damage needing repaired and private pay not insurance for the repairs and when I first got there I asked a employee if they would do a very quick estimate he said yes no problem points to a spot in front of they're office the receptionist says also sure no problem then come back and says sorry we can't do it after all someone went home I cannot believe this two people actually had me go through waiting to get an estimate and suddenly told afterwards sorry no we can't wow you're location definitely needs to take some serious customer service lessons from your San Jose location like night and day very rude and unprofessional first impressions are lasting impressions and the first person seen is a extremely young trying to act professional rude receptionist if you weren't sure it could be done you could of said let me go see if someone is free to evaluate and give estimates but instead she says yes we can get estimate leaves comes back and says sorry someone just went home ..... so ..... I know there can't be Just one person there doing estimates this was a very bad first impression for this location go a little further south to San Jose location they're great and you might want to consider a more professional more class receptionist while your at it as well she is bad for business read more

Waste of time coming down here. Went on Friday July 17th 2020 they gave me a quote on how much it would be to fix my door since a driver backed up into it and left a small dent and some paint chipped off plus possibly the hinges being messed up. They quoted me that same day so I spent time talking to triple a to work on a plan since i was going to go 50/50 with them. Then comes July 20th I call them up asking to make an appointment to drop it off. They scheduled me in to drop it off in the afternoon once I get there the guy that spoke to me comes out and claims the door will be a different color since the paint is faded and I told them I'm fine with that. Once he gets closer to the door he hits me with saying "we can't fix it since it's old and it will be hard to find the parts that need to be fixed". Why waste 3-4 days of mine where I could've been at another shop getting the work done already than wasting my time here. All the time I spent calling up triple a to work on a solution just for these idi0ts to claim they can't help me out even though they quoted me and even set up an appointment to come down and drop of my truck. Waste of time. Wouldn't recommend this shop to no one. My guess is they're body workers only specialize in body work for bumpers. F this place. read more

These guys did a great job fixing my brand new car (only 3 weeks off the lot). They were able to avoid having to get new parts by working out a very minor dent. I loved that they sent text updates and that they had the work done in 5 days as promised. Everyone was very friendly and professional. During the original estimate the mechanic walked me through everything that needed to be done so I understood the process and the work that was involved. I'm only dinging them a star because they forgot a few parts, which I realized after picking it up. But these were minor cosmetic parts so it was no big deal really. We've had an excellent experience with repair work at Caliber Collision both in Florida and especially at here at 794 Industrial Rd. San Carlos in San Carlos spanning the past 3 years. They have stood solidly behind their guaranteed work and the service has been very friendly. It began when we'd lent our Volvo to a nephew in Florida and he was involved in a chain reaction collision. Both the front and rear bumpers were damaged and were repaired and repainted by Caliber Collision in Orlando. We got the car back to California last year (2019) and after a while we noticed that the paint was flaking off the front bumper. We called the Florida Caliber shop and they told us to take it to the Caliber collision shop in San Carlos. We did and they were very friendly, helpful and great about redoing the front bumper with a complete new paint job at no charge. Done deal and satisfied customer. Skip to the present. Just recently, the paint started flaking off the rear bumper in a few spots, so we called Caliber Collision again. We spoke with John who checked with the manager and they said to bring it in and they'd absolutely take care of it. Same very friendly service and another great experience. When they say "satisfaction guaranteed", they really seem to mean it. They've stood behind their guaranteed work for a few years and every interaction has been friendly and excellent. Wish I could give them a 5 star review but I can't. Staff was extremely nice but workmanship on my Porsche was not so good. When I picked up my car the wheel well was not aligned and was uneven. I was told to bring it back tomorrow as the staff had already gone home. Also I noticed my back up light was indicating it wasn't working it was working when I brought the car in. I was told they would order a new bulb and they would call me when it arrived. I dropped off my car again and the alignment was fixed In my fender. I was told I needed a whole new backup light and I was to pay for it. I contacted my insurance company and was instructed to take my Porsche to a dealer to see if it was a warranty issue as the car was new. Porsche dealer called today and I was told Caliber did not plug in the unit when they took off the bumper for my repair. I was lucky that my insurance covered this as it was another hour of Porsche's time to investigate their mistake! This whole process took 3 extra days from when I picked up my car from Caliber and another 2 weeks to get in to see the dealer to finally get my car repaired. read more

Terrible service! Shaddy Business. Do not take your vehicle here, they will intentional break parts on your vehicle so you have to come back. They charged me off the charts for items they weren't even broken. I intend to sue this company for their shaddy work. read more

If I could give them a - 5 that would reflect the experience we had there. My daughter was rear-ended and our insurance company suggested we take our car here. We brought our car down on a Thursday and chatted with a nice fellow named Chad. He told me on Friday that he thought they could repair the car within a couple of weeks. By Monday morning Chad was gone and a new guy, Luis, was now in charge of customer service. (Chad said he had a complete knowledge transfer to Louis on the car.) Spoke briefly to Luis but he had no idea what car I was talking about and he said he'd check and call me back. No call back. Monday / Tuesday passed. I left a message but they had fired the person at the front desk from the week before and a new person was also answering the phone. By Wednesday, after calling again, I finally got an email saying they would not repair the car. Turns out our insurance company thought they had to total the car (based on "assumptions" that there would be more expensive work to do that they were not willing to discover.) I was not happy I had wasted so much time trying to get these folks to communicate. I went down to collect our things from the trunk (that we were not able to open since the car had been rear-ended) and Louis would not come out or talk with me. Instead he sent a guy to stand over me with arms crossed like a security guard as I gathered our possessions. All in all, a terrible experience - very poor management - I would go to some of the other highly-rated places just down the road from Caliber instead. read more
