Don't trust the quote they give you. Gave me an original quote of around $3500, and I decided to open a claim with insurance since the price was so high. When I turned into insurance they lowered the price around $2200, to $1300. They lowered the quality of work they would be doing when I turned into insurance, which I said I want to ensure the job is done well since I would be keeping the car long term. For the rest of the viewers thank you again for taking the time to review my post and updates. ----------------------------- Please AVOID any work with Caliber Collision My car had a rear collision. I am not a car mechanic, that is the reason that I brought my car to Caliber counting on them to fully take care of my car. It took Caliber over 3 months to return my car supposedly fixed. Well within the 3 months the car was in and out of Caliber 4 times including re inspection by the car dealer. Finally thanks to my insurance the car was towed to another car shop for full inspection. The results were devastating, (1) Caliber overlooked and did not address all the damages due to the impact. (2) Caliber replaced, installed and repaired unprofessionally parts with lack of safety and broken parts without taking any responsibility (keep in mind I returned the car several times cause the driving was not the same as prior to the collision. (3) simple screws and bolts were missing or place loose. In the end Caliber admitted to all the faults and ask to re repair what they failed to do. My insurance took over full control and absolutely stood by me and refused for Caliber to touch my car. I can't thank enough my insurance adjuster for looking not only on paint but fully inspected and stand by the point that safety parts were overlook and could compromise the safety of me, any passengers in my car and other commuters. I took my car into Caliber Collision for some minor repair work. I was told if I arrived early in the morning they could handle the repair within an hour or two. They were true to their word. As I waited for the repairs to be completed I got to see how efficient and courteous the staff was to both customers on the phone and in person. They had a sincere desire to help those in need of their services. Because I was the first one in the shop that day I was able to witness their morning staff meeting. I was impressed with the thoroughness as they went over every job that was currently in the shop insuring that timely progress was being made to complete the work, tracking the needed parts, the schedule of the left to be completed and communication back to their customers. Unbelievably bad: Our insurance company insisted we go here instead of Crebassa. The car was in the north bay so it was supposed to go to San Rafael. After over a week of delays and poor communication, Caliber San Rafael decided they were too busy and sent it to their Pine street Walnut Creek branch. They took weeks to do the work, again with terrible communication. When we went to pick it up it was making a terrible noise. An engine mount was broken. It's hard to fathom how they didn't notice the noise and vibration. After another week of unreturned phone calls, they sent it to the dealer for repair. Apparently they can neither diagnose nor repair broken motor mounts. They just ignore them and hope for the best. We got it back and it still makes the noise. Today the wheel fell off. This is a 2016 Subaru Forester with 50,000 miles on it and they can't fix it. read more

Cook's Collision had operated this business at this location for many years until they were bought out recently. When I got backed into in my VW Super Beetle (Silly Silver Sally) on a parking lot in nearby Pleasant Hill I took her into this shop on Pine Street for an estimate. The person who had hit me was driving her boyfriend's card and asked me if she could handle it without reporting it to his insurance. I told her she could and the first place I took Sally for an estimate was to Caliber. When I told Alexa, the receptionist, that a young woman had backed into and did some damage to Sally's right rear quarter panel, she called on Jessica to give me an estimate. When Jessica decided to have Alexa help her try to rub it out they found that the Clear Coat had been penetrated just slightly in three places. When I compared already-existing damage on Sally of a similar nature I decided to do nothing more about it and thanked Jessica and Alexa for their attentiveness and consideration. I sent the young woman a note asking her to "pay it forward." Whilst there I was able to note how the staff treated several other customers and was very impressed by the service, the friendliness, and the humanity Jessica and Alexa displayed toward me. This was, especially in the people department, a major improvement over Cook's. My car has less than 30k miles on it, took it to Caliber after my daughter sideswiped a mailbox. I didn't have a terrible experience, a couple minor inconveniences along the way, but I usually don't stress out about the small stuff. Almost a 3-4 star experience. A few weeks after I got my car back, it rained and my windshield wipers were not working properly. I know Caliber had to remove the windshield to paint my car, so I called and let them know. They told me they did remove the windshield, but never touched the wipers, so it's not them. I was skeptical, but told them I would take it to the dealership to see what the problem is. The lady recommended that I do not tell the dealership I have been to a body shop, because it might void the warranty and I might have to pay for the wipers to be fixed. OK, no problem. I had to live with my newly crappy wipers for a few weeks until my appointment at the dealership. When I got there, my service advisor took a quick look at my wipers and asked if I had any work done at a body shop or anything lately. "No nothing," I said. "That's strange," he replies. A few hours later I pick up my car, and as he is giving me my keys, the service advisor asks me again if I had the windshield or wipers replaced lately. He said they both had loose bolts and one was bent, totally out of the ordinary for normal wear and tear. He asked if I was sure nobody had done work on this area of my car. Don't worry, Caliber, I stuck to the plan and lied to that nice man's face LOL. read more

Sadly our Porsche Cayenne Turbo took on a tire from a Semi on the passenger doors. The vehicle has 1400 miles on it so it was upsetting. I personally have a background in Collision work and paint so making a repair "invisible" is no easy task with me. Briana, the manager, took this challenge under her wing and did a fantastic job! This company needs to do some cleanup for the employees specially all the managers before they end this company under the ground I am serious.caliber shop round my car .The problems they damaged my car and they destroyed it then they denied everything they did but it's not for long !!! I did 3 different inspections for my car at auto body repairs shop and I have 3 different reports and in 5/16 the inspector comings to do inspections on my car and he's coming from state of California Bureau of automotive repair and I give them everything they asked me about. The quality of service here is remarkable. I brought my very damaged car to this location and Alexa and Jessica were professional, friendly, and efficient front the get-go. My repairs were being done through an insurance claim so the claims adjuster had already faxed in the pertinent information and I just had to sign the final paperwork. They told me it would be a 20-minute wait for a preliminary assessment of the damage to my vehicle and offered to call the local Hertz to pick me up so I could use that time to rent a car. Brilliant. By the time I returned, they were done with the quote, had me sign a few forms, and I was on my way. They sent me text updates on estimates/repairs throughout the process and didn't move forward with any changes without my approval. read more

I brought my car here a few years ago (at the time they were cook's collision - same staff though) when someone hit me and was only place AAA allows you to go to. Upon pick up the paint didn't even match the rest of the car (it's silver). They had to repaint it again and then finally got it correct. Now, I return again ~3yrs later due to damage in the front of my car. I pick it up after a week, drive it down the street and the hood doesn't even close. Take it back again. They say they fixed it following day, pick it up and half way home the car stops running in middle of road. I am able to coast down the street to a gas station. Called them upset they keep returning the car with more problems. I finally asked if they could take it to dealership and have it done correctly. Receive a call that caliber collisions technicians installed a part incorrectly so it fell off hence loss of power. Get car back from dealership. On top of that one of the headlamps wasn't put back in correctly and the hood wasn't even screwed on tightly. Luckily my fiance has been learning more about cars and was able to fix it. A couple weeks later (mind you I'm not driving much due to covid) I'm driving and again the car looses power. I call AAA and have it towed to the dealership. They inspect the car and find out this shop put the wrong part on it, it doesn't fit so it popped off. Caliber accepted the fault and had it repaired by the dealership. I should not have had to deal with all these problems. The original guy who was helping me was very kind and continued to accept the fault of the technicians but when I had to go back a couple weeks later he was no longer there. On top of that, since I had so many problems with their poor quality of work and was calling all the time, the receptionists claimed they didn't even remember me. the second guy who helped finally get it fixed at the dealership was nice as well and followed up after the repair to see if it was resolved. Would I ever go back here or recommend them? No. Even though it's AAA approved and they say the work is covered for lifetime, I'd rather save myself all the headaches this caused. I already complained to AAA about the poor quality and all the trouble I went through. Maybe this place is great for people who don't notice problems or are ok with sub par quality, but I am not and won't return. read more

This review is by husband Bruce. Ultimately, the team at Caliber did a great job of fixing/restoring my vintage Mercedes after a rear-end accident where I was hit at a stop light. The story is also about snatching (a huge) victory from what could have been the jaws of defeat. I'm glad that I've waited till now to post this review. Initially, and for a variety of reasons including the unfortunate passing of one of the Caliber techs, my car was not repaired properly. No blame, just circumstances. Plus a missed step (that I believe they have fixed) regarding final quality control before handing the keys back to the customer. Then I met the store's GM Richard (Richie) Wynne. He took complete ownership of my vehicle, and has gone above and beyond to get the car looking like it just rolled off the showroom floor. Which happened back in 1983! I cannot express how customer-focused Richie has been, and truly had the interest of fixing my car above all other interests. Great attitude, and great dedication. In addition, the front office staff led by Alexa could not have been friendlier. All in all, I ended up being super pleased with Caliber on Pine St., and am thrilled to have Richie as a new friend...regardless of how we came to meet. Highly recommended. read more

My plastic splash shield was dragging on the ground for the last two months. I came in to get a get quote on the replacement. Jessica looked at my replacement that I had already purchased online to make sure I had the right part. She also told me that I didn't need to replace the engine undercover which another body shop in Oakland had told me that I needed to. She introduced me to the tech who also inspected it.
