Needed to get the band on my watch repaired - takes about 3 minutes. 2 months later and they can't find my watch. Do not go there.

I took it in for a good cleaning and battery replacement. Best 25 bucks I ever spent. It is like new. I did not buy any jewelry. I am very pleased with their customer service. Jamie listened to all of my ideas about designing my ring, answered all of our questions openly and honestly, gave her professional opinion when I wanted it, remained excited and supportive throughout the process, and worked behind the scenes to make me the perfect ring. And all of this, extremely efficiently! With others, I was told my ideas would not look good, pressured, lied to, and they were not even going to make any proofs of my ring! Getting a wax proof seemed to be standard at Champaign Jewelers, and had it not been perfect, Jamie would have had no problem sending feedback to make sure it was. She even researched where one of my rings came from so that same supplier could help match my custom ring's details! They also fixed the prior damage to my wedding ring! Every time we went into Champaign Jewelers, we felt welcomed, at ease, listened to, and appreciated. We had a wonderful experience, and will never even THINK about going anywhere else ever again! Had I come here initially, I would have had my gorgeous, complete set well before my wedding, and a lot of saved stress.

The staff seem well informed and are very helpful, too. I went there looking for an engraved locket for my mother and while they didn't have anything in stock that fit what I needed, they told me they could easily order it in and engrave the locket in store but the whole process would take two weeks tops from beginning to end. They called while I was there and confirmed their supplier had the item I wanted and would ship it to Christopher's right away. I actually live in Los Angeles but my in-laws live in Champaign, so I paid in full for the locket and engraving and agreed that my mother in law would collect the order when it was ready and send it to me. Fine. Except it took over 10 days longer than the completion date they gave me and I ended up having to bug them about it. When I finally got the locket, the last letter on the engraving looked like an M instead of an N but I didn't bother to call them. I was just disappointed with the experience overall, and hope it may have been different if I'd ordered a custom item instead.

The first meeting we had no idea what we wanted and some great questions got us on the right path, the designs Chris Jupp came up with were not quite what we wanted so we kept looking - a few months later after looking all over DC we came back with a better idea and he was able to blend what we liked from half a dozen different rings to create the prefect ring. So very pleased and we will be back over the years for more.

How this shop has made it this long with terrible hours, an odd owner, and a very, very messy shop…read moreI personally do not understand. With a store like this I can respect there is a certain amount of quirkiness, but quirky is not this shop. Upon entering I was greeted by a very friendly staff member who was very polite and showed me where I could set my take out box from a nearby restaurant. (Note to anyone who has a "leftover" sandwich in a box... leave it outside... trust me.) The owner then came from the back and proceeded to question the employee about shop business at full volume as if they were the only two people in the store. Their discourse became very uncomfortable and negative very quickly. When I asked to see a bowl of pink tourmaline which was behind the front counter the employee, to my surprise, had to ask the other woman if it was okay to show them to me. What? Seriously? You have items for sale on the shop floor and you have to decide to show them to a customer? At this point I should have just left, but me being me I didn't want to be as rude as the shopkeeper. She then proceeded to say she hadn't priced them yet and started to pull prices out of thin air. I selected two stones quickly just to end the very uncomfortable encounter. I was instructed to place them on a plate and hand them to her... and then the situation became even more bizarre. I turned to grab my food container and was scolded to leave it where it was. She made up some ignorant excuse that there wasn't anywhere to put it down by the register area. I am an adult with two functioning hands and can hold a box with one hand and use my credit card with the other. I can understand if the food had smelled, but it was a plain turkey sandwich... no perceptible odor that anyone could have possibly smelled over the overwhelming odor of incense in the shop. At this point I was just done. Purchased my two tourmaline specimens and left. Trust when I say you do not need to buy any incense... you will smell like the shop for the next three hours after your encounter. This was my third time in Beads N Botanicals and my last. INTROVERT ALERT: this shop will leave you feeling sad, confused, and drained. In my humble opinion this shop should be avoided most vehemently. -Clean and clear your shop. Seriously, it's not that big. The negative energy is like a cesspool. -Respect your customers unless you really don't want their money. -Talk shop business when you don't have customers or at least keep it professional. -Price all of your merchandise. -If you don't want food or drink brought in the shop stop being passive aggressive and... PUT UP A SIGN! You have little nit-noid signs everywhere else in the shop. The "no touchy" sign was exceptionally lovely.
