I have eaten from this location for years now and never reviewed it. Catering from them is amazing if you are considering them to cater an event. But recently I have been enjoying their wraps and they are fantastic as well. The flavor of their chicken is incomparable whether you get a wrap or the actual chicken pieces. They line the take out boxes with pita and the drippings of the chicken get absorbed by the pita. Their rice pilaf is also an essential to have with your food. Their salads are also very good. Especially they Chinese cabbage salad. Their prices are just right for the quality of food you are receiving. read more

Exactly around the time another person below in reviews posts about cold inadequately prepared chicken. I'm just now posting about poor chicken from 4/5. I am now infected with salmonella poisoning from the chicken salad. I ordered via DoorDash. The chicken was weird cold wet temperature I ate some of it then my dog wanted some bc I ordered extra double meat. I let him have some too ignoring my intuition that one it smelled weird /looked slimey wet and two it felt very cold. I called the venice store today to report as now my whole family is sick and I'm taking my dog to vet second time. Never ordering from here again. read more

Come here regularly for years, always leave with the same feeling - amazing good, but terrible, terrible service. No employee is ever happy to greet you, always miserable to take your order, hates explaining anything and any questions asked is a waste of their time. We had a rather large order from CCC for my son's birthday and they didn't disappoint. Everything was delicious and a huge hit! Since it was a kids party we also had tons of pizza however, when the party was over, the pizza was still there but CCC was absolutely devoured. Parents and kids couldn't get enough. Love the salad here as they give a generous portion and include all the veggies. The reason for the low rating is that I got here 25 mins before closing time and the staff is sweeping, picking up dirty mats, and fixing the food in the same area. I understand the desire to be able to leave ASAP after closing however no way this can be sanitary. CCC do better! read more

We had problem with our order recently where they gave the wrong dressing and we called and spoke to the manager Kathy who made things right for us by giving us a make up salad. We order from CCC a couple times a month because we love their salads so much, but I think it's time we part ways with them. It used to be so easy, pleasant and consistent whenever we'd order for take out. But now every single order is wrong, incomplete or otherwise screwed up. And going in is really unpleasant since they're always slammed and it never seems like they have enough people working so the ones that are there are stressed, curt and clearly stretched too thin to uphold their usual quality standards. Tonight's salads were half their usual size, items were missing and they put half an avocado in there - not cut up, literally just half an avocado plopped in there. Their service and quality is consistently yummy and all their locations are clean and welcoming, esp with the recent remodeling and rebranding. I like this location in particular because parking is accessible - they have a lot to the left and there's plenty of meters as well! My personal faves are the combo wrap and the Chinese chicken salad. For less than $15, you can order a meal, a side, and a drink! Tip: call in your order or download the app! This would have been a one star review if I hadn't pushed to get past the HORRIBLE assistant manager Valerie to speak to the manager Melissa. I feel so bad that Melissa is only supported by someone who makes her job harder by trying to place blame rather than resolve simple issues. I called after placing a delivery order and receiving the wrong order (even the order I did receive wasn't correct based on the receipt and was missing 2 items!). My driver showed up and I could see it was not my order. I showed her my app and she explained she only picked up one order and this was what she had been handed. She was more than happy to go back and ask the restaurant for the correct order. I decided I would call ahead and let them know she was on her way. When I called I got Valerie who identified herself a the manager. I explained the situation and she took my name. After being on hold for a bit so she could "check the system" she returned to the phone to tell me my order had already been picked up and it was a driver issue. (Most likely she looked in the system and never even checked the orders to see mine was probably still sitting there). I also tried again to explain the driver only received ONE order and it wasn't even complete based on the receipt. Valerie was so rude I couldn't even finish talking before she put me on hold. She came back and again started being the driver so I asked for the manager and for her name at which point she again put me on hold without a word. She came back on the phone again and said "i just spoke with the manager...". I reiterated I asked for her name and to speak to the manager. She stated "I am the manager". "Didnt you just say that you were just speaking to the manager?" "yes, she's on the phone. I'm an assistant manager". "I will hold". When Melissa the manager picked up the call went exactly as it should have originally. The order was remade immediately and rest for the poor driver to pick up on a second trip. I will tip the driver again as CCC isn't reimbursing her for the extra gas or the potential missed deliver she could have had when she was fixing their mistake. I know staffing can be difficult but Valerie is in the wrong position. If you decide to visit this location and she is there I would suggest you go elsewhere. She will probably get your food wrong and blame you. Not sure how CCC promoted her or allows her to represent their business. She is a miserable person. read more

I was parked on Lincoln by Baby Blues to order there and a young girl named Naylah walked all the way down to ask my name for an order. I didn't have one at the time but her kind energy compelled me to buy something to try . I've never been here so she broke down the whole menu for me and recommended me her favorites and my golly it was the best meal I've had in awhile I didn't even get the food from Baby Blues! You've done a great job with the food and with her. I've never written a yelp review before but Naylah's customer service was above and beyond anything I've ever experienced. Not only did she represent this company's reputation well she also shows she cares . We had a brief conversation about my own life and she gave me some advice that I will never forget. It's been about five years since I've gotten take-out from California Chicken Cafe. I ordered a California Chicken Salad for dinner. The server, Barbara, was very friendly and accommodating. I brought home the salad and it was huge and delicious, though a couple of ingredients were missing. When I notified the store, they immediately worked with me to help resolve the issue. Can we not separate every single component of the salad? It's like the people who made that decision have serious OCD. My salad looks like a neatly packed sock drawer. Carrots go here, tomatoes go there, all on a bed of lettuce. Yeah, I know, you can have them mix it for you. But imagine using Postmates to place a pick up order, coming home, and having to get a big bowl to mix it yourself. We've been coming here for 5 years. But we now have a child with a peanut allergy and when we asked if anything had peanuts in it they said impatiently that they didn't know. We asked them if anyone knew the ingredients that they put in their food and they said outside of what's written on the menu they didn't know and kept referring to a pamphlet that had a corporate phone number and email. Did they want us to give corporate a call while we were at the counter ordering our food? And it seems really irresponsible for them (the order takers and the cooks) not to understand what ingredients are in their food. Not only is the staff uninformed, but specifically Maricella? (can't read her whole name because have her name tag is covered by her overalls) and the manager Karina was rude and kept rolling their eyes. Salads are good at this place, my favorite is the chicken chinese salad, the dressing is delicious and it comes with nice chunks of chicken, chinese noodles, mandarins and almonds. The wraps are also good. Parking can be hard at some locations but waiting times are good, usually no lines. read more

I usually hit up CCC post-gym to stock up on some much needed protein. I am a big fan of the original wrap (no avocado) and when I want a treat, the broccoli pasta salad, otherwise I stick to the fruit salad. Reasonably priced, large location with plenty of seating and the help is always friendly and quick with your order. Parking can be an issue, I usually head around the corner to the residental neighborhood when there is no parking directly on Venice. My only complaint about CCC's wraps is it takes forever to unwrap the paper from around them sometimes! Drives me nuts every time. read more

I usually don't like paying $10 for a salad. I think paying that much for lettuce and some dressing and scant amount of toppings is a rip-off. However, i have never regretted paying that much for a salad from California Chicken Cafe. They definitely give you your money's worth! I have never been able to finish the whole salad in one sitting. I usually make at least two meals of one order of salad. They are extremely generous with their toppings and the amount of chicken they give you on your salad. Their dressings are great. I usually get ranch dressing, but when I want to eat healthier, I use their green avocado salsa as a dressing and it works just fine! This place is great! It's a sit-down place, but also a take-out place. I especially like the Venice location because they're open on Sundays, unlike the other locations. I also really like their wraps and soups. They're incredibly healthy. You just feel really good about yourself after you eat the veggie soup. It comes with pita bread too, and I usually go for the wheat pita bread and that makes me feel even better. As for their chicken, I'm a bit picky because i really dislike dry chicken, and the chicken here is a bit dry compared to what you can find elsewhere (like El Pollo Loco). It's also not as savory. But their chicken portions are VERY generous. You can get a half chicken for a very reasonable price. But I'd still say that their salads and soups are better than their chicken. Service has always been great when I've come here. When you order to-go, you wait at a table and they bring you your food. My servers have always been very polite. This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. read more

After going to this establishment for several years, I can no longer recommend this place to my friends and colleagues. I tend to order to go and, as a result, I have constantly tolerated missing sides and incomplete orders. It has only gotten worse and worse over the course of the last year. The straw that broke the camel's back was when my order came without the chicken, the main course of the meal! Even worse, it happened on the night I had to be home in time for the Breaking Bad season finale! To add insult to injury, the manager seemed to not recognize the severity of the latest mistake compared to the others.
