We come to this location all the time, usually before or after a movie at the nearby Cinemark, and we've always had great experiences... until last night. We went to see the Mario movie because it was $6 Tuesday, and the movie ended a little after 9, so we rushed over knowing Hopdoddy closes at 10. When we walked in, they were already mopping floors with chairs up on tables on one side, but there were still a few people eating in the bar area, so we figured we were okay. We ordered a Thunderbird bowl (dressing on the side), the burger of the month, the Smothered Texan (free, because we're Legendary status) a doble fina margarita with a tajín rim, and a Sam Adams draft. I checked the time when we finished ordering--9:34 on the dot--because it already felt like the kitchen was trying to shut things down early. We sit down, chatting, all good... until we realize our drinks haven't come. We're seated in the bar area, so we can literally see the bartender chatting with a couple, NOT making drinks. Then our food arrives. Still no drinks. I ordered a chicken patty, which typically takes longer to cook, so there's really no reason for food to beat the drinks out. I check the time again and it's 9:45. I'm about to get up, but I see the bartender finally pouring the draft, so I wait it out. Then I realize my bowl came with no dressing at all, so I get up to ask for it. On my way back, I pass the drink pickup area and see my husband's beer just sitting there... next to my empty margarita glass. Meanwhile, the bartender is back to chatting instead of finishing the drink. I had planned to just grab the drinks myself to save the server a trip, but instead I'm standing there trying to get the bartender's attention--or at least hoping he'd mix the margarita while he talked. He eventually noticed me and started making it, but by then my food was sitting at the table getting cold, so I went back to sit down. I didn't even get a chance to take a picture of the Smothered Texan because by the time I got back my husband was almost done with it. The drinks finally arrived at 9:50. And to add insult to injury... the tajín rim was barely there. Honestly, I waited tables all through college and I get that it's annoying when people come in close to closing (especially on a Tues) but the experience shouldn't feel like you're inconveniencing the staff for being there. Between the missing dressing, the drinks sitting untouched, and the bartender prioritizing conversation over service, the whole night just felt off. Disappointing, especially since this has always been one of our go-to spots. read more

We have ordered from Burger Lounge several times. The burgers are good but they are so freakin expensive, it's just crazy. Today we placed an order through DoorDash and the employee gave our driver the wrong bag which was clearly marked for an Uber Eats delivery driver. When my husband called Burger Lounge to fix their mistake, he was told in so many words that it was not their problem and WE had to fix THEIR mistake by reordering through DoorDash and getting a refund for the wrong order. We waited an hour for the delivery and we were hungry. We were not going to waiting another freakin hour or more to reorder. When "large" isn't large. We've often enjoyed Burger Lounge, but this recent order was a disappointment. What was labeled as a "large" onion rings was a far cry from what's shown--and definitely not the generous portions we've received in the past. Compare the attached pictures: what they advertise as a large is nowhere near what we actually received. Ordering through Uber Eats meant the platform couldn't help, leaving us with no resolution or refund. Ultimately, this feels like either false advertising or a significant drop in quality control. I used to come here every week with my child. It was always a good experience whether ordering ahead and picking up or sitting down to eat there. They knew who I was when I walked in. After scheduling changes we couldn't visit as much but made an effort to go today. However it was a totally different experience, despite ordering ahead food was not ready for quite some time. A table to sit down while we waited was full bun scraps from food. The staff were all nice but I could tell it was a completely different crew, younger and less efficient etc. We all learn so I can live with that. When I finally got my order part of it was waiting to the side while uber orders etc were prioritized as they came in regularly with phones out ready. The onion ring order had maybe 4 rings in it while the other food was good overall. I give them 3 stars as for what my experience was today. I'll try it again another time then update to see if the experience changes. Also when ordering online there's a new account system so had to jump through a few hurdles to get it. Stopped with that Lady as we had a late night Craving for a hamburger. That Lady remembered seeing this burger house on the way to Gelson's market, so we decided to give it a try. Well first off, they use grass fed beef and secondly offer beer and real milkshakes. Well the burgers are fantastic. Good food, good service and a variety of burgers for every palate. Burger Lounge is a small chain, somewhat new in Los Angeles. This one is located in Marina Del Rey. Parking is free in the underground lot or on the street. It is on a corner of a block long strip mall and is cute. The place outside is lovely. You can at times dine outdoors, but there is plenty of seating inside in comfortable booths or at their counter. It is super cute inside and really clean. The service is great. This is why they have 4 stars from me, they really deserved 3, but I think they just need to pay more attention to what they are cooking. The staff is very nice and helpful. You order your food at the counter and they bring it to you when it is ready. It comes looking nice and organized. Where they fail is in their burger department. They are dry, too well done, and just sort of bland. Now, they have great ingredients I know they could cook up a great burger. The French fries were just so boring. The onion rings were quite good and they have wonderful milk shacks. They also have cool craft sodas on tap and I think they have beer. Their pan fried cod sandwich is good, but needs a little something, it is just bland. I know they can work on this because they have all the stuff you would want. Their pricing is very high for what you get. I would not mind if the food was so great, again I think it could be. It just needs a touch of something to make it super yummy. I ordered $100 worth of food from this place through the Yelp app. The order was never confirmed via email or phone. I checked my app multiple times and then at some point it said it was delivered 12 minutes ago. I went down to my hotel lobby and it was there. The staff was super friendly. I got the BBQ Bacon Wrangler burger, which apparently is only available for a limited time. It was delicious. The fries were really good too. The interior was clean and bright, and the staff was busy working the entire time I was there even though it wasn't very busy yet. I took my wife and daughter out to lunch here. It was our first time visiting. My wife and daughter ordered the Burger Lounge burger to their specification. I ordered the grilled codfish sandwich. The presentation for all of the sandwiches was excellent. My wife and daughter loved their burger. It was love at first bite. On the other hand, I did not enjoy the cod sandwich. It was flavorless, in my opinion. My daughter and I rated the cod sandwich a four out of 10. However, my daughter enjoyed the fries, and She gave them a seven out of 10. We all love the onion rings. They were scrumptiously delightful. They were seasoned and fried to perfection. We all rated them a 10 out of 10 and said they are the best onion rings we have ever tasted. The Service was good, and the atmosphere was great. We will return even if it's only for the onion rings because they are worth it. *Burger Lounge One of the Best in Town* Been a big fan of Burger Lounge since the first location on the Westside debuted years ago in Beverly Hills. It's always been a homerun and sometimes even a grandslam. On this particular visit, I observed National Cheeseburger Day. I started receiving emails the previous week about it & their one day only, $5 Burger Special. I love a great burger and as an ex-vegan, I don't eat much meat & cheese or gluten. But when I do, I know what I want & how I want it...and started planing my Sunday Burgerfest a week in advance :) The one thing I really like about BL is they allow me to customize my own burger and have it my way -- unlike those other so-called places that don't allow any omissions or substitutions...and have silly burger rules. The moment I stepped foot inside BL I was warmly greeted by Kevin who was upbeat...full of charisma...and a wide smile as big as a cheeseburger. Placed my simple order consisting of 2 plain standard grass-fed lounge burgers, while engaged in a nice conversation with Kevin, then told my takeout will be ready in 10 minutes. BL has excellent French fries & onion rings but decided not to overindulge and keep it a little more clean & simple. BL also offers plant-based burgers that I've never tried because I prefer the real thing. I've also enjoyed some of their salads through the years -- especially the Quinoa Salad which is now only seasonal. And they used to have THE BEST Seared Albacore Tuna Sandwich which was replaced for Fried Cod...and wish they can bring back the Albacore. My wife inquired about their Lavender-Mint Lemonade and wanted to know if it's too sweet. And what did customer-driven Kevin do? Offered & provided her a free sample. Unfortunately, she thought it was a bit too sweet & sugary. Made a quick trip to Gelson's that's located underground in the same shopping plaza to quickly grab an item, while wifey headed nearby to Ulta Beauty. When I got back to BL I noticed a cool sign on the sidewalk that I took a pic of to post on Yelp. Kevin saw me from the inside and came outside to hand-deliver my bag of burgers. I was so impressed with his kind gesture, we struck up another interesting conversation about the importance of great customer service and how it's these little things in life that all add up at the end of the day. As for the burgers...they were very good and charred perfectly on the outside. But it was a little bit overcooked and not as juicy as my previous experiences. The burger still satisfied my craving -- deserving of a 4 star rating. BL has solid & firm yet pillowy buns that holds up well and look divine like an old-school pair of Calvin Klein's. But Kevin's award winning personality pushed my 4 star burgers over the edge with a high-five. Dined in on 7/30/23 at the Marina Del Rey location. The service was good, friendly staff at the counter. The place was nice and clean. The ambiance is updated and chill. Nice restaurant with plenty of seating for those who want to eat in. The bathrooms are also kept clean which is awesome. The burgers were delicious. They were fresh and tasty. The only con would be that they are on a smaller size than usual burgers. We ordered the Husky, 2 S.O.B, BL western which is a new item. We also ordered the 1/2&1/2 which is 1/2 fries and 1/2 onion rings. The onion rings were tiny and nothing like the photos on Yelp. But we enjoyed the crispness of it. The fries were also good. Prices are reasonable comparable to other burger places. Overall, we had a good experience and enjoyed all our food. We will definitely be back! Every Burger Lounge I've been to has been great, until I've visited this one. The cashier had absolutely no friendliness to him, not even a smile. The only person who seemed to have real customer service was the other staff member that dropped the food off. The caramelized, charred crust on the surface of the patty oozes flavor. It can be slightly less cooked but maybe this is at request. However, the reason I gave -1 to a 3 stars is because of the fries. For a place that has very good burgers, the fries are flavorless. Not even a matter of adding more salt but the fries almost taste like it was frozen and all the natural potato taste is gone. Is it a matter of using better quality of potatoes? Idk...but the fries should be avoided if this is normal. It was my first time visiting. I would definitely go back for the burger but a oid the fries unless it changes. Milkshake was good, maybe above average but nothing special. I walked but parking seems plenty in the plaza's garage. Might be validated.
