A friend once suggested we meet here for lunch because he thought I was overly healthy and only ate salads. He couldn't have been more wrong, but I think I ordered one anyway just so he wouldn't feel bad. I came back with my wife while we were strolling down Main because she actually wanted a salad. Of course, she loved the aesthetic. It's exactly what a bougie Westside spot serving $15+ salads should look and feel like. I'm a breakfast burrito guy, so I was skeptical of theirs, but they nailed it. The two sauces were great too. The chill back patio is also dog-friendly. Neighborhood spot on Main Street in Santa Monica. Ordered the Chicken Poblano Plate and the Peruvian AJi Chicken in a wrap. Both were very fresh and all around a good meal. There is street parking available and both indoor and outdoor seating with a few umbrellas. When Alexa suggested a quick lunch on a recent Monday and gave me a few suggestions, I took one look at the Alfalfa listing on Yelp and was sold by the the menu, photos, reviews and more... and my experience there did not disappoint! We shared two salads: the Sinatra and the Greek with chicken and also had a couple of tortillas on the side. (We both enjoy making little wraps this way and I highly recommend it!) Both salads were delicious... we especially loved the spicy honey mustard dressing that came with the Sinatra salad. Service at the counter was super friendly and helpful. The chicken was well marinated and the salad was filling. The cilantro avocado dressing was very tasty. The coffee was satisfying. I didn't order the brownie, but I really wanted to! Was going to order from here until we noticed that the description lists ingredients that you are then CHARGED for because those things (ie Kalamata olives and feta cheese in the Greek salad) are NOT actually INCLUDED. Used to LOVE this place and would go often. Got mild enough (though still a problem) stomach issues from multiple dishes too many times. Then, on my final visit, ended up with bad food poisoning and that was the last straw for me. Food that should be hot is often not quite; food also is either ready immediately or takes forever even when there aren't any other customers waiting. I can't know what's happening in the kitchen, but the overall experience was generally that it was inconsistent and not being well-run. FOH and customer service are friendly. Food safety training standards need serious re-review. read more

This place has been on my list for a while because I love healthy and I love salads so this place seemed right up my alley. Really cute from the outside, some seating outside and they have a back patio as well. Pretty simple inside, you order with them and they bring out your food. It's not Chipotle style where you see them scoop the ingredients in front of you. We built our own bowl and added peruvian chicken thigh (extra cost) and avocado (extra). They have really tasty dressings... we got lime cilantro but the lemon herb is also delicious. Also for all those that are dairy-free, they have a dairy-free caesar dressing which very really excited me to see as caesar salads are one of the things I miss sometimes since cutting out dairy. The salad was ready and came out really fast. I thought it was really good! Everything tasted fresh. Not sure it had a ton of protein included, I had to keep digging in order to find pieces, but overall I was happy with it and would definitely come back if I was craving a healthy salad in the area. This review is mostly a reminder to myself to never come here again. I've given this place so many chances.. ordered a chicken Caesar wrap last night and got food poisoning. They are using old ingredients, absolutely DISGUSTING. Also, filter reviews by 'lowest rated' and you will see all the reports of food poisoning, wish I saw that sooner. Alfalfa should be SHUT DOWN by the health department. Stop giving these places your business, they don't care about quality, you're just funding their expansion. My wife and I went to alfalfa for breakfast. They have some of the best breakfast burritos in the area! The service is top notch the gentleman helping us was super nice! The coffee is also great! I have been meaning to try Alfalfa ever since I learned about their Larchmont location when the run club I go to had an event there. When I saw they had a location just down the street from the new workout studio I've been going to I was like, I should give it a shot! You go in and order off a tablet and I got the Peruvian chicken wrap and the cold brew. There is a patio out back if you're dining in which has a decent amount of seating but can fill up quickly. When I first got there on a Sunday around 12:30pm or so it was completely packed. Thankfully I was able to snag a table. The Peruvian wrap tasted really healthy with a nice crunch and the avocado lime dressing is chef's kiss. BUT! The highlight for me is the coffee. Their cold brew is so flavorful! I really loved it tbh. The wrap is like honestly whatever -- tastes great but I wouldn't write home about it. But the coffee!!! Unexpectedly great lol. They use Intelligentsia coffee apparently which I've never known what the hype is about whenever I see it BUT NOW I DO! Whatever they're using here I'm about to cop it to make it a home lol. read more

My lunchtime adventure at Alfalfa is nothing short of awesome, and I've got a new BFF in town - the Buffalo Goddess salad. The salad is an alfalfa leaf mix with wild rice, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, sweet potato, sunflower seeds, and creamy goat cheese. The buffalo cauliflower has just the right kick of spice and the sweet potato is like a cozy caramelized hug in every bite. Its that perfect spring/summer salad you need to give you enough energy the rest of your work day and to power through after lunchtime. I add chicken to this salad for some more protein and it keeps me full and satisfied until dinner time. I stopped by this place with my wife as she had tried it before and I wanted to give it a try. I ordered this poblano Canyon chicken plate.. OMG. This is probably one of the best chicken dishes I've ever had. The chicken is roasted but it's also has a nice crunch almost like it's fried. The corn, the salad and the beans all tie it together into a delicious meal. They also give you this really yummy green sauce that just takes it to another level. We ordered this turmeric lemonade that was super refreshing and we sat in the back area where we can have a nice conversation and away from all the riffraff on Main Street.
