I had Califa remove a 60ft tall 20ft wide avocado tree and tree stump yesterday. Everything went well and I am pleased. I was home and watched from inside my house. They were organized and used ropes and other safety equipment. Their workmen came on time and in 5 hours the area was clean and flat. I messaged Califa Tree Care through Yelp along with several others. Califa reached out within a couple hours, made an appointment for the next day, showed up about 10 minutes early. Carlos walked the property took photos of everything that needed done, gave me a rough price and then emailed with a written quote that included photos. He was the ONLY one that was that professional and was also the least expensive. I was a little concerned because they only had one review and I had a really bad experience a couple years ago with another company. He explained that there were other reviews on a different page from another location/office. I called a couple weeks later and asked him to come back as I wanted to go everything and add a couple more trees. He promptly came back and we scheduled the work for the following week. Carlos replied very quickly to my tree removal quote request and came to check the trees the next day. He was prompt, very good in communicating and sure has deep knowledge about his work. During consultation, he provided me all the information about the trees and removal process. My trees are deceased but I still did check with my city about possibly getting a permit. Fortunately, city approved no permit needed, so I saved some $$ there. Carlos however, offered if needed that he can file the permit for me with a fee of course but he was kind and honest as well to just provide me the form if I prefer to do it myself, he said that it should be easy. He also scheduled 811 for PG&E to flag and marked the area to make sure that they would not damage any gas lines on my property. No shortcuts, Carlos made sure we are following city rules! Pricing is very competitive, the project includes 3 redwood tree removal and 2 fruit bearing trees pruning and trimming. The trimmings were just additional to the initial estimate and gave me a discount. Overall experience with Carlos and his team is absolutely excellent!
