It's been a long week and I needed some comfort food. I was in the South Bay this weekend and…read moredecided to look for a place to get a good gyro. I dropped by on a Saturday afternoon, where a few other patrons were already dining. The seating has around 6 or so tables inside that can fit around 4 each, and they also have high chairs for children! I ordered a number 17, which is the gyro, and got a side of hummus and pita then found a table to sit at. I had just finished buckling my child into the high chair when my order was delivered to my table! They are super fast here! The super friendly waiter delivered my meal, and I dug in. The gyro was stuffed with meat! This is a huge deal, since a lot of places skimp and don't give enough. So extra points to Al Hamra for a job well done. The flavor of the meat was juicy and well seasoned, super delish! The hummus and pita was good, although I usually add a bit of spices to my hummus so this one was a little plainer than I'm used to. Either way, it was a nice addition to the meal. The grand finale were the desserts! I usually go for baklava, but decided to try the knafeh, a layered cheese dessert with syrup and pistachios. Get the knafeh! The warm cheese and syrup were so delicious and made for the perfect ending to a good meal! I will definitely be back, the food was super tasty, and the people working there were friendly and helpful. Thanks for the happiness, Al Hamra!

Our group of four adults and two kids came in starving. I had the chicken kabob wrap, which was a perfect burrito-sized meal, while my husband enjoyed a beef and chicken kabob plate that fully satisfied his appetite. Honestly, the highlight for me was the warm pita served with garlic mayo, so much better than the cold or room-temperature pitas you often get at otherMediterranean spots. We also shared dessert, the kulfi cheesecake, and left completely stuffed. Al Hamra is a cozy family-run restaurant with just a few tables, but the food makes it well worth it. I'll definitely rotate between this spot and Chicken Maison for future visits.

Oooh, this review is long overdue!…read more I absolutely LOVE Mashawi Grill. Every time I'm craving something fresh and flavorful, this is where I go. I'm vegan, so I always order the Mashawi Salad without chicken and substitute falafel, with no cheese. And let me tell you--it hits the spot EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. The garlic spread is hands down my favorite, and the spicy hummus is absolutely incredible. Everything is always fresh, packed with flavor, and consistently delicious. I've been coming here for over 5 years, and I honestly can't remember a single time I've been disappointed. It's one of those places that never lets me down and always satisfies the craving. Highly recommend!

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE! The food is good--the…read morespicy hummus is honestly amazing--but service matters, and this place consistently misses the mark. This was my second visit, and unfortunately I had the same rude experience. I tried to overlook it before because I liked the food, but tonight sealed it for me. I brought a friend because I had been hyping up the spicy hummus, and we were excited to go. We arrived around 7:16 PM, and right away the cashier was rude and told us our order had to be to-go because after 7:20 PM they don't allow dine-in. I mentioned it was only 7:18, and she responded with attitude, saying, "Oh, it just turned 7:20." I don't mind paying for good, quality food--even if it's not cheap--but I won't tolerate rude service. No matter how good the food is, the experience matters just as much. In my opinion, the staff could really use some customer service training. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back or recommending this place to others. Not worth it.

This place wreaks of "I want to pretend to be a chef/cook, to make money but have no idea on earth what it takes to do it". I HIGHLY recommend, the cook go to culinary school before opening a place to sell food. There was no one in the restaurant when we arrived. We ordered chicken wings (came out under cooked) they were littered with cilantro..why? Who does that? And the plate was splashed with buffalo mostly missing the wings. As if a baker would do with a dessert plate and some Carmel or chocolate drizzle. Weird. The mozzarella sticks were from Costco. And he laid them on one single piece of iceberg lettuce leaf. No marinara. Just cheese sticks and an old leaf. I recommend a few classes in plating your dishes. I also ordered water and an iced tea. He charged us $5. He then proceeded to walk outside to the liquor store nearby and purchased an off brand bottle of water and a lemon iced tea and gave it to us. Lol talk about unprofessional. Imagine ordering a burger from a new place and they take your money and walk across the street and bring you a Big Mac. Wild It took 37 mins to get our appetizers (wings and mozzarella sticks) At the one hour mark I had enough. I asked him to refund me my money as it was taking way too long for our food. And I noticed he was JUST starting the pizza we ordered sprinkling mixed cheddar cheese from Costco on it...WITH NO GLOVES. I've eaten pizza all over the world and have NEVER seen a pizza made with pre shredded Costco cheddar cheese. He then said "I already made your chicken kabob plate" and pointed to a plate that had about four inches of lettuce and a chicken kabob lying on top..sitting there getting cold. I asked how long before you bring me both, he said "about 10 mins". lol The best thing that happened about my experience is that I got a refund. But you can't refund my time. Honestly, I wasn't going to share my experience but when I seen that I wasn't the first that had this level of unprofessionalism, I changed my mind. I applaud anyone stepping up and trying to be successful in whatever endeavor they choose but when you are so ill equipped that it clearly is a hindrance to your progress, and you choose to ignore it instead of trying to make changes to make things better, that's a problem. There's a huge responsibility when cooking food and serving the public. You can make people very sick and or kill someone. I recommend this business be closed down. If you're reading this and are contemplating eating here, you've been warned. DO NOT EAT HERE!

It is a smallish window with covered patio seating. No indoor seating. Good for takeout or small groups. Plenty of parking. I've never really heard of Mexican Mediterranean fusion, but it kind of works. We ordered the family combo for lunch in hopes of feeding 5 dudes and 2 kids. Boy was there a lot of food and then some! Huge box of rice, another full of falafel, one for salad, one for sauces, and a random box of quesadillas. The meat was split between chicken and gyro, plus pita. Everything tasted great. The gyro was not classically shaved meat but more like cut burger patties but that wasn't exactly bad. There was plenty of food to take home for another meal or two. Will definitely be back, but next time will be more adventurous and try their fusion burritos or nachos
