Pulled into the drive-thru, ordered a burger combo with a large Diet Pepsi, only to be told they were out of that and all diet sodas. Fine. Pivot the order to the burger and a side at the cost of $15, then proceeded to wait in line for 18 (timed) minutes. If there had been a way to pull out of the drive-thru area before reaching the window, I would have. Unfortunately, I was trapped by the two vehicles in front of me and the four behind me. Upon (finally) reaching the window, paying for and receiving my order, I was handed my receipt and credit card without a "thank you", a "sorry for the delay", or anything. read more

Waited 15 minutes at the window for our food. We ordered a BLT sandwich, a number 1 combo, a Philly Steak sandwich, a medium rootbeer, and a twist cone. Instead of giving me my cone while we waited 15 minutes, I got it when they handed out our food!!!! UGH!!! I open my philly sandwich and there was huge chunks of red and bell peppers, wilted/ hot lettuce, wilted hot tomatoes, lots of onions, and barely any meat at all, covered with melted cheese! Mind you, this is one of the most expensive sandwiches on the menu, and the only one I ever get! I am so livid right now! I tried to call to inform them of the problem (also took photos), but guess what? THEY DO NOT HAVE A PHONE NUMBER!!! What a joke! I have honestly not had a burger this good in ages! I'm not even a burger person, but last week, California Burger blew my mind! I ordered a plain bacon cheeseburger with curly fries. Both were fantastic, but my BCB was incredible. It was the flavor of the burger combined with the bacon and cheese that worked well together. My sandwich was not greasy, like a lot of diners or fast food restaurants, and it tasted so good. My fiancé really enjoyed his mushroom swiss burger, too. Service was pretty fast & the restaurant was well-lit. I absolutely cannot wait to return to California Burger again, despite it being across town, to get another delicious meal! read more

The parking lot was empty. Only two people were working. The place was a disaster. Every table was filthy with crumbs and food on them. The trash cans were all overflowing. The bathroom was out of soap and paper towels. I actually stood while I ate. The lady at the front cash registers was nice, but I asked for no sauce and the burger came with extra sauce. Got takeout for dinner here. I thought that after a bit of travel it would decrease in quality but it still tasted very fresh and yummy! We got some curly fries, fried zucchini and veggie burgers. Everything was great! It was one of the better veggie burgers I've tried from a fast food place. Definitely leaves the other fast food places behind. The service was quick as it is a fast food place. I ordered on line to have it ready to go through drive thru and it was hot and ready and very organized in my bag as well. After a 10 minute wait it was our time! The order process was pain less and when I was directed to pull forward with my $17.93 payment I was a bit surprised! Almost $20.00 for two burgers, a Diet Coke and fries seemed a bit much for my blood! Communication with the order guy and the cashier seemed screwy! The cashier asked for $25.00 and I went ballistic! Awesome food . Never just warm, our food is HOT fresh cooked each and everytime. I just love their Spicy Chicken #18 I believe. No tomato, no lettuce, just the wonderful chicken n the spicy crust on it. Best ever. The fries are hot,hot,hot !! Be careful of your mouth.lol love the seasoning on them , Husband does too. Husband downsized from the Triple Burger (no tomato or lettuce) to the Double Cheeseburger. Still huge. He said he was miserably full from the Triple Burger n large fries. Food illnesses seem to be a common theme. On Saturday I took my wife and son to California burger to give it a try. The drive through was empty and only a few cars in the parking lot. We figured the "hype" was over. We went in and stood at the counter for about 5 minutes before a gentlemen appeared from the bathroom. My wife ordered a spicy chicken sandwich meal and I ordered the double cheeseburger meal. The food tasted okay and the fries were pretty good. After eating my wife went back to the counter and ordered a Cinnamon Toast Crunch milkshake. It too tasted very good. But then the bad happened. That evening my stomach began to growl and I knew something was up. For the past 3 days my wife and I have been having horrible stomach pains and diarrhea. It's is still going on to this day. Anything we eat comes right out of us. After speaking to a few family members we found that our sister in law has experienced the same thing after having a milkshake from here. So buyer beware. I got an avocado burger and onion rings. I started to feel ill about 6 hours later. Then I was running to the bathroom and was in terrible pain. It took 3 months before I was feeling well again. The large fry would probably feed 3-4 people. I've never seen anything served that large. Some past reviewers complained about price. I don't think a review should be based on price alone. Price was maybe a bit higher than any fast food joint; but, the quality and quantity of food far offset the price. I feel food was made per order so there may have been a short wait. Well worth the wait. We did the drive through and the personnel at the window was quite nice so I can't comment on the ambiance inside. There are two California Burger restaurants in Indianapolis and we will try them since we live closer to Indy. I really don't think you will be disappointed. read more
