Don't ever, ever, ever use this company. Our school chartered this bus to take our marching band to UNLV from Fontana. They refused to stay at the venue, leaving us at the event from 12:30- 8:45 without access to the bus. We had students who have serious medical conditions and we booked a charter bus so they had access to a bathroom rather than porta potties. We needed a place to keep medicine cold. Your driver Jack refused. He told me personally, "I don't want to stay there. What am I supposed to do there all day?" He also said, "What am I supposed to do for dinner if I'm there?" I offered to go buy him dinner. In fact I paid for him to have dinner at the buffet on Friday! I ended up spending another $300 to get your drivers another hotel room even though they were NOT over their time limits. We had girls who had to change their clothes out in public. Jack said, "they can change inside the porta potties." The kids' belongings were our in the parking lot all day. We paid for a charter bus but didn't have access to it. The driver told our hotel if they couldn't find him a room for the afternoon, he was going to leave our group in Nevada and drive back to California, leaving over 100 kids and their chaperones stranded out of state. Our hotel manager was shocked and reported this to me. We tried our best to find compromises, including just having one bus at the venue, but he refused. I spoke with your dispatcher Robin and was also treated rudely. I requested twice that the supervisor call me, but she never did. Never, ever, ever use this company. Clean buses and friendly drivers! A few months back, I used the bus services to move around from the college campus to the homes. Christian, who was my bus driver, was very friendly, polite, outgoing, and attentive. He even asked the overall passengers if the bus was too cold and if it needed the heater on! I know that night, there were previous trips on this particular bus coming from the homes, to the college campus, and then back again. So when I got on the bus, it was nice to not see trash or litter on the ground or on the seats. The bus was clean, and I could tell that it was kept up. Because I wanted to write a review, I asked Christian what bus company he was with. I know that my time spent on this bus was a short one, however, it was enough time for me to want to write a review. Thank you for the great service! read more

After checking the Better Business Bureau on 3 bus companies I had as contact, I decided on this company because there were no bad marks but I was a bit leery because I noticed they had recently changed their name from Shalimar and that's usually a red flag. But i also checked under their old name and didn't see any issues. On the day of the trip, they sent a bus that didn't have air conditioning! They offered 3 "options" that were not viable options at all. It was over 115 degrees in Vegas where the bus was headed and 95 degrees on the bu!. For our trouble, they only took off $200. When I called to speak to the manager Erin, she NEVER once took my phone call. Instead, she had her bossy, rude employees speak to me. This was not good customer service. We will NEVER use this bus company again nor would I recommend them. read more

I am surprised they have a high safety rating. This past weekend, was not good. I was seated behind the driver Jack and he was watching the old videos of Elvis I think with headphones. I am pretty sure that is not legal WHILE DRIVING. but i don't know for sure not cool at all. After the weekend we went through, this driver jack should be fired. Grumpy, stubborn, and just mean. Never again will we book a ride with California Bus Service. Maybe that is why the name changed from Shalimar. I remember them way back when and they did not treat people like this. To my surprise, our organization booked this company again. I guess our previous experience was not horrible enough to warrant a different company. But, I will say this. It was better. Way better. This tells me, the problem is not the organization so much as the driver, Jack. Yeah, Erin, if you really want to be better organization, you'll need to do better than Jack. He's not good for your business. The two ladies who took us around were nice. They were helpful and worked well with the director, thus no issue with any parent. I wish I remembered her because she was funny too. Hire more of those kind of people. These front-line associates make a huge difference in the perception of your organization. HORRIBLE SERVICE! 1/2 hr delay due to a stuck cargo door. Broken cd player. No running water/sanitizer in restroom (we were told #2 not allowed). Bus driver inexperienced. 2 indicator lights went off which stalled the bus and driver had no idea what the lights were. Door kneeler malfunctioned which created an elderly guest fall. Broken emergency window. Driver tailgated on way home & laughed @ scared passenger. When brought to owner's attention, they didn't care. read more

Perhaps I should have yelped this company and looked for "real" reviews instead of the testimonials on their website. Had I yelped this company I would have questioned why they have absolutely NO REVIEWS. Maybe I would have asked the question "why not?" I made initial contact with this company back in June of this year (2013) I had booked a trip for late August and I felt that over 2 months of planning, gathering deposits for seating (as this was a fundraiser for my son) would be a sufficient amount of time for everyone involved. Boy, was I EVER wrong. I've been given the run around from this company left and right, from people being away from their desk (for 20 days??) to being emailed a contract I never received. It is apparent from the contact I did have with representatives that they did in fact have my email address, and phone number. I have since cancelled my trip, and have advised everyone of my negative experience. Should I try and plan a new trip, I will DEFINITELY be using another tour company. Run as fast as you can! Obviously, they want "big" accounts, sorry I'm not a "big" account, I'm just ONE individual who was going to make this an ongoing means of fundraising. Never again! read more
