About six months ago, I rolled into Gabriel's shop for some advice on my 2014 Honda Pilot. After 11 years, the door arm rests in the front were tearing along with the center console. We discussed a plan and a cost but I just didn't get it done in 2024. Fast forward and the tears had gotten worse, the drivers seat back had popped open (Broken Clips) and the frame around the driver's side seat cracked open like an egg. At this point, it was time and Gabriel asked me to bring the car in on Tuesday. When I left it, a price was agreed on and he promised to have it done on Wednesday. To our delight, I received a phone call about 7 hours after dropping it off. The car was READY, so we drove over to pick her up. I was floored at how well the interior looked. Those problem areas were addressed and it looked brand new. Gabriel mentioned that they reinforced those areas and the material quality used was a step above. on October 24, 2022 I brought my Bentley Continental GT to have the drivers seat repaired and dyed! I wrote a good review on that date, however the seat repair cracked after several months. Additionally my vehicle was damaged while at California Customs getting the seat repaired. First, there was sprayed paint on the wood burl console and leather dash, when I pointed this out to the owner, he wiped it with chemicals without asking me. The interior wood burl was previously treated with a ceramic coating which was removed when wiped and scratches appeared the wood burl after wiping it. Second, when California Customs removed the seat, in order to repair the seat, it was dropped onto the scuff plate, resulting in 3 minor but noticeable dents, which I had professionally removed at a cost of $200.00. The California Customs employee who dropped the seat on the scuff plate knew the damage he caused, yet failed to inform me when I picked the vehicle up. Subsequently, I had a seat repair company repair and re-dye the seat cracks caused by inferior work of California Customs at a cost of $400.00. Although, California Customs begrudgingly told me they would repair their inferior work, they never returned several text messages attempting to arrange a date for the repair work, therefore I had another company perform the repair work. I texted because the voice mail was full. I also felt that if I brought my vehicle back to California Customs, additional damage to my vehicle was a possibility. Lastly, the quality of the work performed by California Customs was inferior at best, at the attitude of the owner was unacceptable, when I informed him of the cracks which appeared on the repaired seat. I welcome California Customs to refund the $600.00, I paid them to repair my seat back on October 24, 2022! read more

I am restoring a '67 Volkswagen bug and had great difficulty installing the upholstery kit purchased. Gabriel and Gabriel, Jr., took the project over and made the final product look perfect. I went in to simply have them duplicate re-upholstery of two armrest pads from my red leather office chair. I handed it to him and said, "how much to do it this like it is, but not leather, use vinyl?". He said $80.00. So I dropped them off to get done. Picked them up, and to me, the work was a joke. They didn't even cut/match the seams, looked like a poorly gift wrapped box. Missing was the stitching all around the perimeter/ the sides of the arm rests. I said "where's the stitching?". His response? "Oh, if you wanted stitching it would of cost a lot more". Are you kidding me?? You tell me this when I come back to pick it up? I paid $80 for $2 bucks worth of common vinyl. I'm posting photos of the sub-standard "craftsmanship". I am also posting photos of the arm rests as I presented them to their shop. I would NOT go back to this shop. They do not have my vote. So, look at the "before" with the nice red stitching, then the "after". You judge for yourself the "quality" of the work. These are my opinions. I'm not dissuading anybody from doing business with them, I'm only sharing my own personal experience. I'm sure they do great work, but just not for me. read more

I shopped three different upholstery shops in the general area of this one to get my motorcycle seat recovered. I had a specific idea of what I wanted (a combination of leather and vinyl and custom piping) and didn't want to settle for less. Not only did California Customs give me the lowest price (and I didn't tell them what the other shops quoted, I didn't even tell them I was shopping around), but they told me they'd have it done in three days and then called me after two days to say it was finished!
