A couple years ago, I went to Islands, which was right next door to this CPK, and I ended my Islands review by saying I was more likely to go to CPK than back to Islands on my next visit to The Pike Outlets. Welp, time to flip the script. Now I'm more likely to go back to Islands than back to this CPK lol This CPK (as well as Islands) is located on the east end of The Pike Outlets, just across from the Long Beach Convention Center. This month, CPK is doing a promo where if you spend at least $10 on a visit, you get rewarded with a freebie on your next visit. What the emails didn't mention is that the freebie would come with strings attached: a purchase of at least $20. Actually, the ensuing email I got said $25, but my reward said $20. Either way, I was a little unhappy about this misleading promo because I thought I could have gotten the freebie without having to purchase anything else. After my first visit earlier this month, I was granted the reward for a free appetizer/dessert with $20+ purchase, which was set to expire in August. Even though the Lakewood CPK is way closer to me, I wanted to try this CPK to see how it would compare. I had just visited a nearby business at Pike Outlets, and I hopped onto the CPK app to place my order. A day or two before, I went on the app to decide what to get as my free starter and what to purchase for $20. For the starter, I was honed in on the Avocado Club Egg Rolls, their most expensive starter. For the $20 purchase, I went with a Chicken Club Sandwich, but needed to add at least $2.26 more to make $20. There was a side salad upgrade with upcharges of $1.75 and $2.25, but neither would have been enough. Instead, I went with a side of broccolini, which was $3. If I had ordered ASAP, the app estimated an 18-minute wait, but I was willing to wait even longer so I could explore The Pike Outlets before my 2 hours of free parking (with retail validation) would expire. Unfortunately, I wasted about 10 precious minutes trying to place my order. That's because this CPK didn't actually have the Avocado Club Egg Rolls on their menu?! Inconceivable! And because of that, the app kept glitching on me and giving inaccurate totals. I got flustered and struggled to find a way to start a brand new order from scratch. I also had to choose a new starter: Dynamite Shrimp. I finally placed my order about 25 minutes before my desired pickup time. I arrived about 15 minutes later since I elected to pay inside the restaurant. Without a host at the front desk, it took me a while to find the takeout counter in the rear of the restaurant by the kitchen. Natasha was the employee manning that station, and she needed to check on my order not once, but twice to see when it would be ready. I had about $18 left on my gift card and paid the majority of my balance with it, but she told me I owed $18?! When I asked her to check the balance again, she realized her error. After completing my payment, she checked the kitchen again and returned on my scheduled pickup time to let me know it should be ready in 5 minutes. I patiently waited on a bar seat next to the takeout counter. 5 minutes went by, and still no sign of my order. With each revolution of the minute hand, I was starting to get a little nervous that they forgot about my order or they would have to remake it, which would have caused me to have to pay for parking. Finally, 10 minutes after my scheduled pickup time, I received my takeout bag, but needed to race back to the parking structure, find my car, and get out before I'd get charged for parking. I had Dynamite Shrimp before at the San Antonio location, which has since closed for good. This Dynamite Shrimp tasted no different; in other words, the Dynamite Shrimp here met my expectations on how bold the shrimp was, but also how dry the veggies were. The broccolini was bland, though I can't say I was expecting there to be any flavor. At least it helped me achieve my recommended daily intake of greens lol. For the sandwich, I requested for the mayo to be on the side, but for some reason, they read "on the side" as "omit" as I didn't see mayo in my sandwich at all! I had to use some of the dressings from my side BBQ Chicken Salad so it wouldn't have been so dry. Even that didn't help; the edges of the chicken were burnt that I couldn't help but wonder if that was the reason for the extra 10 minute wait. The BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad wasn't too bad, but not as good when I saved it for the next day. It also didn't help I had used up a good portion of the dressings for the sandwich. Lastly, the bread was quite disappointing! This was seriously the softest bread I had from CPK; the others usually had more of a crunch and hard crust, but this was so soft I think they took the bread out of the oven too early. Considering how mostly vacant the interior was when I came to pick up my order, I'm surprised at how underwhelmed the food was. I'll still return to CPK, but not to this location. read more

We live across the street and today was our first time going into your location. We just moved to the area and we were extremely excited to just walk across. We show up and it is not very busy. We ordered via phone call which is ran by Ai. It told us to pick up curbside at 8:09pm and at 8:20pm we were still waiting curbside so I had to call and speak with a person. We got our order and were happy with it. Hubby's Hawaiian pizza was okay-no comparison to Baby Bros pizza on pine, but my bbq chicken salad w/extra bbq was delicious. And the Dr. Pepper is perfect!!! Most people now-a-days can't even get the syrup ratio in the fountain machine right. The service was unfortunately very slow. We are in town for a conference and it took 45 minutes to get food even though we arrived before the lunch rush. The server was kind and the soup was yummy, but the 4 pizzas we ordered were cold and relatively hard by the time they arrived. One item wasn't delivered until we had all finished eating already. Maybe they weren't staff enough for a weekday lunch hour? The food trucks were with long lines and we did not want to eat at the convention center cafe or settle for the $10 hot dog by the street vender, so I picked CPK which is about 3 min walk from the convention center for a nice sit down lunch. I had fond memories of its pasta and pizza and was looking forward to the treats again. It was busy with large crowds from the anime show; it's surreal and fun to see and dine with people in cosplay costumes on a non-Halloween day. We were seated in about 20 min. My friend ordered the salmon which he commented being slightly overcooked. I was adventurous for ordering the cheese-less vegan avocado pizza, it's very healthy but the veggie topping cooled the hot pizza and made it less appetizing, it's a no for the next time. I am such a huge CPK fan, as is my entire office! We order there a couple of times a month and absolutely love it! I often order the Thai chicken pizza, or the Thai crunch salad. My assistant loved the tequila chicken fettuccine and the tomato soup and Cesar salad are also very commonly enjoyed. I'm also a HUGE fan of the butter cake! It's pretty easy to park and have the curbside pickup at the location. The service is usually friendly and the restaurant is clean with a chill vibe ambiance. The only downside is that there is usually something missing or incorrect in our takeout orders and then my employees are upset with me, when it was supposed to be a fun, reward lunch. With the amount and frequency that we order I just hoped that they'd take the time to get our orders correct. But we will still be going back and love this place! read more

While exploring the area around the Hyatt during lunchtime, we decided to stop by CPK in Long Beach for a Saturday meal around 1 p.m. There were plenty of food trucks nearby, but we were craving a comfortable place to sit down and enjoy a relaxed lunch. Choosing to dine in turned out to be the right call--we were seated immediately, which made for a great start to the experience. We ordered a variety of items to share: Habanero Carnitas Pizza Surprisingly good--the crust was crisp, the carnitas were tender, and the subtle heat from the habanero added a nice, balanced kick without overpowering the flavors. Avocado Club Egg Rolls Crunchy exterior with creamy avocado filling. Flavorful overall, though the chicken inside was a bit dry for my taste. Salmon Piccata The highlight of the meal. The salmon was incredibly tender and flaky, cooked just right, and the pasta was beautifully prepared with a bright, citrusy sauce. Steakhouse Salad Refreshing and flavorful, with a nice balance of crisp greens, protein, and dressing. Light but satisfying. Sedona Tortilla Soup Warm, comforting, and well-seasoned with good texture and flavor. Dakota Pea Soup Another solid option--hearty, smooth, and flavorful. Overall, the food quality and taste were consistently good. The service really stood out. Our server was warm, attentive, and genuinely considerate throughout the meal. I was there to pickup a to go order I placed thru the app. I walked in and no one was at the reception desk and I saw the to go orders sign in the back so I headed over there. I was the only customer waiting and there was a guy with AirPods in his ears cutting food but didn't look up at me or say someone will be with me momentary. No greeting at all. Lunch today 11/29/25 at CPK. Walked over after a visit to Aquarium of the Pacific. We saved $12 for parking by leaving our car at the Aquarium parking structure. We ordered the children food first with Tim. About 30 minutes later Layla came and apologized stating some issues, one being a new hire. She took our order. And our 2 pizzas, HABANERO CARNITAS PIZZA and California vegetarian pizza came just after 1pm. The pizzas were ok nothing fabulous. Ok, I like CPK. We probably eat here 6-8 times per year. But today I had the Steak Salad. There was only about 2 ounces of charred, overcooked steak on it. For $22.95. I asked for more steak, and they brought about 2 more ounces of charred, overcooked steak. For an additional charge. Compared to the photo in the menu, there's less than half the steak on the actual salad. I feel like it's false advertising. And there was WAY too much salad dressing. My kid's pizza was very good. And for race days in Long Beach this CPK is the secret weapon - beer at 1/2 the price of race event beer, clean bathrooms (with running water!), air conditioning. Wait time was 30 mins. Ordered a hawaiian pizza, salad with chilli and adult beverages. Received them all within 15 mins. All was fresh, no complaints. Server was ok, could of been better. Overall, this location is acceptable. You have to walk from the parking structure to this restaurant which is a couple of blocks away. In Long Beach for the MTC-2025 Membrane Conference. Walked across the street to California Pizza Kitchen for a bite. We ordered the Works Pizza, Carne Asada Pizza, bolognese and a salad. As for the service....it was absolutely outstanding! Donnie could not have done a better job...he made our night. Just took wonderful care of us...it's without a doubt the best and most attentive server I have seen in a very long time. The restaurant is nice size and comfortable...restrooms are clean. Grand Prix weekend, CPK on Pine has always been our go to. This year the hostess first off said "patio full" @11:30 (we saw open tables) she said no alcohol being served??? Two minutes later we were seated on the patio after being schooled that we had to spend at least $75 per hour. Ok we can do that. But it took 20minutes to be acknowledged and 20 more before our order was taken and it seemed like forever to get water and our drinks. The food was just ok and not the fun place to watch the race as it had always been the last 20 years. Going back today to find our new "go to place". CPK must not like AGPLB. This was my first time coming to California pizza and I experienced a horrible service! When I arrived I waited about 3 min to get attended because two workers were talking. The waiter named Pricilla from my table was very rude rushing me into order my things? telling me the price of an extra ranch making me feel like I don't have enough money to pay. I don't appreciate when I'm getting rushed in a restraunt where I'm dining in. Tables we're very sticky and the environment felt very humid. This was my first and last time visiting this location I will never come eat here again. It has been some time that I had been to CPK. I was surprised they had a 30-40 minute wait time to be seated on a Holiday. While we waited we went shopping. They actually called us much sooner than the estimated wait time that was provided. It was a nice day out, but it felt too stuff or warm inside for my personal taste. Our sever was great, but service was a bit slow. I think he was taking care of too many tables at once. I overheard him speaking Spanish to another party. I thought that was wonderful. I like how he brought out our pizza before he brought out our bread. The food was great. We all enjoyed our meal. The Bolognese was fantastic. My salad was warm instead of cold. I went towards the inside of where the service counter is and lucky enough my food had just come out. I'm such a huge fan of this chain and there's a bit of nostalgia for me as well. I wanted pizza but wanted to be somewhere nice, so California Pizza Kitchen was that place. This location has a parking structure nearby, so you don't have to look for parking on the street. Which can also validate for at least 2 hrs of your stay. Peace of mind, when you dine here. Upon arrival at California Pizza Kitchen, I noticed a few people were waiting outside. I then proceeded to go inside, expecting at least an hour wait. The lady that works the front desks did not greet or give you a welcome feeling at all. Anyway, I told her how many and asked for an estimated waiting time, and she stated approx 30 minutes, not bad. 30 minutes passed, and sure enough, our name was called. She seated us inside and gave us the menu and walk away. Our server, Edgar, was very, very kind and had a great smile throughout the evening. Edgar made sure we were doing fine and everything was good. With a little hiccup then and there, Edgar acknowledged it and took care of it instantly. Came here on a Wednesday night and it wasn't busy around all so it was nice and quiet and we were seated quickly. I got the strawberry lime margarita and the wild mushroom pizza. The margarita was a good mix of alcohol and sweetness, wish it was a bigger glass, but can't complain. The pizza was really good and a pretty good size. I took leftovers home.
