Last night was our initial experience with dining from Panini Kabob Grill; we ordered at/from their downtown Long Beach location on Broadway. They offer flavorful and substantial menu items; however, as advised by friends, the preparation process can be relatively slow, with our two panini sandwiches and appetizer taking approximately thirty minutes to be ready for our pickup. Nonetheless, the quality of the food justified the wait. We ordered the House Specialty Hummus Trio, of which we have leftovers. All three varieties met our expectations, with the edamame hummus particularly standing out to me. Regarding the panini sandwiches (shared between two people) we had the Salmon Brie Panini and the Tofu Pesto Panini. The Salmon Brie Panini was enjoyable, though slightly fishy tasting. The Tofu Pesto Panini distinguished itself through its exceptional flavor, texture, and creativity. Two stars related to for pickup service only. I placed an online order for pickup, and deliberately selected a time before the lunch rush. It was one item. I arrived about 3-4 mins after the selected pickup time. The gentleman at the takeout counter had his back turned to the line - there were two people in front of me. It took him a few minutes to acknowledge since as he was packing orders: definitely understood, but it is common practice to at least acknowledge people and not have your back turned to them the entire time. I waited for my already-paid-for online order for approximately 25 minutes, which I consider very extreme since my order was for falafel and hummus. Not to mention, people who called in orders and had not yet paid were provided their orders with no wait time (other than the line to pay for their food). Came here for lunch and we were seated right away. It did take a while for the food to come out though. We only had a one hour lunch break and I think it took around 30 minutes before our meals arrived, so we ended up feeling pretty rushed trying to finish everything. The portions are also really big, so I definitely wish we had more time to enjoy it. I got the tuna panini with the avocado salad. The tuna was really yummy and flavorful. I was expecting the cheese in the panini to be more melted, but it was still a little cold. The avocado was fresh and the lemon dressing was so good and really brought everything together. read more

This is a beautiful location within the LBX center--but not in the busiest hub, so it was a little more relaxing. It's nicely decorated, and the weather was perfect for us to enjoy dinner on the outside patio. We enjoyed the food, though it's Persian oriented, so different from the more Greek-type Mediterranean food we're used to. The lamb kebabs had a sweeter spice, and the pilaf was definitely different, with both sweet and savory flavors. My husband's salmon pasta was very good, with large, tender chunks of salmon. My husband picked me up at Long Beach Airport after one of my trips so we stopped here for dinner. He ordered the Flat Iron Steak Kabob and I got the Jumbo Shrimp Kabob. They both were $20.99 but we upgraded to Strawberry Date salad for a $1.99 additional charge. Was it worth it, no it was not. I think I found maybe one piece of date in mine and barely any strawberry. My husband faired slightly better. The shrimp were ok, pretty dry. Service was not great. It was actually pretty quiet on a Saturday afternoon. Location wise it's good as it's downtown near the library and corporate offices but weekend, it's quiet. It's been years since I was last inside one of the restaurant. Menu still looked the same give or take a few items that looked new to me. Waitress was great and sweet. She was also the one that greeted us. Started off with some beers which was priced well. I remember potion were quite big so we just shared the hummus trio and two kabobs combination. Trio of hummus, spicy red bell peppers, edamame and garlic and olive oil. They were excellent, each one had their own flavors and plenty on the plate. A good amount of the pita as well as a side salad accompanied the dish. Highly recommend this. And the beef combination with two kabobs. Worth the price adding a second kabobs. That was served with rice and a salad. Theres options with rice and salad but I went Greek salad and white rice. First off, it's massive so good for sharing or plenty of leftovers. The meat was cooked well and very flavorful. Not dry at all but very juicy. Rice and the salad was a perfect paring to everything. It also came with grilled veggies, onion tomatoes and bell peppers. It was a while since I had this plate and the first bite, it was worth it. Food was excellent. Service was good. Street parking available. I met a friend here for lunch last week and I arrived first. It's downtown LB, so parking can be tricky. I parked a couple of blocks away and the walk was perfect. I walked inside and it seems like you order at the counter. But I noticed an outside area and opted for that. There were nice heaters and a server takes your order. Miguel was an absolute charmer! He explained some of the dishes to me and managed to make us laugh with his sweet "flirting". He charmed the two of us. We could both be his abuelas! My meal was top tier. Had takeout from Panini Kabob Grill with some friends and it definitely hit the spot. I love me some authentic middle eastern food and this spot is serving up the classics. When the food arrived it was packaged well and the dishes were organized. It was easy to figure out whose was whose. The portion sizes are extremely generous. You can definitely split each dish if you wanted to. We had a lot of leftovers. I like that the to go portions are organized well with meat to one side and veggies on the other. The containers were spill/leak proof so that this is a great spot for takeaway. I had the chicken kabob plate which came with rice and grilled veggies. The chicken was super tasty and juicy. I love the charred flavor that they get on the chicken and veggies. The rice was the only bite I didn't 100% love, tastes a little dry and overcooked. Otherwise those as a cohesive dish it was definitely a 4/5 and tasty overall. The sides of hummus and cucumber yogurt sauce were both very very good. I'm happy I went with the chicken as I didn't love the beef kabobs as much. Their breads here are fanatic. The pita was very soft and fresh. I also loved their grilled regular bread. Tasted so good to dip in their sauces and dips. Absolutely loved it. This is a very tasty spot in Long Beach if you're craving middle eastern food. Came here for a mid afternoon lunch with a customer. I had never been to any of the various Panini Kabob Grills around prior, but love Mediterranean food so happy to try it. We had the spot almost to ourselves when we walked in, it was very late afternoon, but soon after a number of people came in to dine in and take out. Their motto is "Healthier Mediterranean Food" which I am all about. I must say they lived up to that motto. The food was delicious and tasted clean and really fresh. The meat is free of antibiotics and hormone free. Only using the top ingredients. I got the charbroiled ABF chicken shish kabob, with grilled vegetables, brown rice and greek salad. The menu says "this is a must", they are not wrong or overhyping this dish when the say that. I really loved it! The chicken was grilled perfectly with amazing flavor and tenderness. The vegetables and the brown rice was equally delicious and full of flavor. The Greek salad was fresh and crisp, dressing was subtle but paired perfectly. I am giving them super high marks across the board, from the food, service, presentation ambiance of the restaurant, etc. everything was really great, thank you. This spot was on point. I'm a difficult customer. I didn't know what I wanted. Yammel was so awesome. She answered my dozen of questions and put together a dinner for my husband and I that was healthy, filling, and delicious. I did take out. I ordered the family style dinner but I got beef kebab and steak instead of chicken for a bit of a charge. We also ordered the appetizer platter and tiramisu for desert. The sides of salad and pita, and everything that came with these meals will give us about three nights of Dinner. Ordering DoorDash or Uber Eats is becoming ridiculous. You pay $15-$20 in fees. So that's why I came in to order take out. So about 80 bucks we'll eat 3 nights. We would easily drop that on one dinner if we went out. Prices are just insane lately.
