Tried Little Coyote for the first time after stopping by the brewery next door. Kept it simple and went with a pepperoni slice to start. I don't think it's entirely worth the four times price as, say, Domino's... Maybe I just don't love pizza like that. I think Little Coyote is good, but not worth the price point. The BYO pizza costs more than their signature pizzas, but they do load up on the toppings. The individual slices are the better alternative if you're in a rush or just want something for yourself. A mosaic-style, gold-chained dog mural catches the eye as you drive past Little Coyote's narrow storefront. Outside, a trim street-ery is bounded by large potted succulents. The interior feels both minimalist and effortlessly cool. The left wall is painted with a black-and white mural wave pattern, while the right wall is lined with shelves of beverages and pizza boxes. A line of off-white wooden booths stretches to the cashier counter in the far back. Warmly lit globe lights hang from the high ceilings, while soft rock never interrupts the communal chatter. My partner and I arrived for weekday dinner and placed our order immediately. We opted for a Pepperoni Grandma Square and The White Pie with added sausage. It comes with provolone, soppressata, garbanzo, artichoke, red onion, pepperoncinis with iceberg salad. There was definitely more toppings than salad, but that's how I like my salad sometimes. I absolutely loved their rendition of an antipasto salad - it was tart and creamy with plenty of good textures. Since we already had salad, we naturally went with the meat lovers pie ($26) This did not disappoint. It comes topped with pepperoni, Italian sausage, bacon, mozzarella and red sauce. I love a good meat lovers pizza, but I don't like when it's too, too meaty. 3 is the perfect amount of meat love. I also like that the crust at Little Coyote is crispy but has a little chew. I will definitely order again. I went once previously with friends and sat outside. I was more focused on our time with friends than the food. This time we ordered for delivery... We ordered a margarita pizza. Crust was one of the best around. It had a good amount of sauce. I'm from Chicago and we put more sauce on pizzas than most people so I like that. That said, I don't think a margarita pizza should even have sauce. Should be sliced tomatoes. There was plenty of basil (which was a little too burnt and should have been added later in the cooking process), a little short on the fresh mozz, but overall it was an enjoyable pie. Everything else was fantastic including the phone service when I had a question about the website menu. We ordered 2 Grandma's squares as well. They were slightly undercooked, but my wife really liked that since the bread was so soft. It is also less oily than typical focaccia bread which was actually nice.
