The bar where the fish and other options were just disgusting and filthy. Rice was cold and is not what I've had from many other places. The portions of the fish were so little like the worker was skimping it. I was mainly eating rice. The rice was fill to the top almost. The avocados were already black. I really would not say it's fresh save your money and time and go to some other poke spot. read more

We ordered same as usual, but they messed up 2 of our bowls, wrong bases, missing/incorrect sauce, missing toppings, additional toppings we didnt want and none of our notes were honored/incorporated. Wanted to try something new in this area and was craving a poke bowl. There was a deal on my food delivery app, so I got some additional items too. The crunchy shrimp was pretty tasty, with a good number of pieces. The Cali and salmon roll were okay as well. The salmon and spicy tuna poke bowl had good portions of fish, however it was pretty saucy as other reviews have mentioned. Also, something was off about the bowl as there was a slightt crunch with every bite. That's when I realized the rice was undercooked... so I left the rest of the rice unfinished. I noticed after a few bites there was something missing and that's when I realized there wasn't an option to include a free scoop of imitation crab meat in the poke bowl which is one of my favorite parts! This place had poke bowls, a crunchy selection, and sushi rolls for sale. I opted for the sushi rolls, although the build your own poke bowl sounded enticing. My husband and I ordered 2 bowls from here, our first time since it was late and our local "all about poke" was closing. We got regular size and small. Let me start off by saying, they fill up the bowl with 85% rice. I'm not exaggerating. The rice was prepared al dente. It didn't taste like sushi rice. The grains also appeared longer. My small bowl contained 4 chunks of salmon and a small scoop of spicy tuna. My husband's had 4 pieces of tuna 4 pieces of salmon. Their wasabi, ginger and soy sauce are also the cheapest quality available at restaurant depot. Poke is a Hawaiian dish with roots of Japanese cuisine- perhaps the owner is not familiar with the culture to know that protein in these cultures is appreciated more versus the rice. read more

She wasn't busy thank goodness so I took my time with my order and personalized my bowl to my preferences. Many choices to choose from. I'm not crazy about octopus. Kept it simple. Love shrimp. Skipped the rice and went for the salad instead. Definitely wanted all the toppings and seasonings. Many sauces to choose from so I tried several till I found the spiciness that I enjoy. I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the small build your own bowl. I got the salmon and shrimp with all of the toppings except the jalapeño and avocado. I got the ginger shoyu and half brown rice/half salad. Whooooo! That was a delicious lunch. I had leftovers from that day. The fish tasted fresh, and I loved the generous amount of toppings they provided. The service was great and efficient. I only waited about 5 minutes. Subpar food & service The fish did not taste fresh, the rice was not cooked well, and they ran out of two integral toppings (ie. Green onions and seaweed). The workers also forgot to add the crab meat I asked for :( They are a skimpy with the portions of fish and toppings, and you're not allowed to ask for more scoops of one topping bc you can choose an unlimited amount of different toppings... The sauces were okay, just decent, but could've been better coated the fish and toppings - most of the liquids just ran to the bottom of the bowl. The server was rude & almost seemed angry when my friends and I were ordering. As for Covid precautions, they wear masks & also gloves I believe. All in all, $13 for a small poke bowl with 2 scoops of protein is filling, but not crave worthy. I probably will not be coming back to this establishment read more

A mixed bag. It's hard to pinpoint where they go wrong, but the final product is just so-so. It might be the sauces. They put way too much sauce on it. I think others have said as much. Same with the dry toppings. They sprinkle way too much. The result is a bowl that is both drenched in sauce and overly crunchy from the dry toppings. It overpowers the rest of the poke bowl. This generosity ruins the taste. Even when I asked for a smaller amount of rice, I couldn't tell the difference. As for the good, the staff are very friendly, and they offer lots of options and good portions. Also, they open later than a lot of other places if you need a late evening poke bowl. I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to poke, but still this place just gets a "meh" from me. One other thought: I like to get pineapple as one of my poke toppings, but too many places have pineapple that's too hard or almost crunchy. This place is no exception. They do offer mandarin oranges though, which is nice. read more

Stopped by while on my way to my mamma house. Customer service was great. The lady who attended us was very friendly & helpful when asking her recommendations. They have your basic proteins but one unique one which is their squid salad. Tasty & flavorful but on the chewy side. They also have a variety of toppings, different from other places. If you don't want poke they also sell appetizers here (but who doesn't love poke?) . I got myself the crab cakes with spicy Mayo on the side. Comes as 2 on a bed of salad. Definitely delicious. The poke I got was tasty but pretty big to be honest. I like to eat & I usually get a large but I didn't expect it to be as packed with food. Definitely made me feel like a big boy when walking out. The only downside to this place is the lack of spicy mayo as a dressing. It was a option for the crab cakes but not listed for your poke bowl. I used to go here a while ago but I stopped since I found poketomik . But this place is closer to my work so I decided to get a quick lunch . The place kind of smelled funny. The fish was not as fresh in my opinion. I could taste this aftertaste/smell that you get when the fish is not as fresh . The overall experience was just ok . Hence why, 3 stars . You can either get one of their house specialty bowls or create your own. I opted to create my own regular sized bowl with 3 scoops of fish. The size of the fish itself seemed small, so I got a double scoop of the salmon and 1 scoop of albacore. I normally get tuna, but their tuna at the time didn't really seem as fresh as the others. For toppings, you can choose as many as you want; however, they only give you 1 scoop of each topping you choose. Avocado is not part of the free toppings, as they charge an extra $1. I got the spicy mayo for the sauce and they mix that with all of the toppings and the fish. I liked that they have a lot of options for the sauces. Lastly, they put the mixture on top of your choice of base- white or brown rice, or mixed greens. The price seemed pretty reasonable for the amount of food you get. It was $12.05 (with tax) for a regular bowl. Customer service was also great, as the guy who made my bowl was friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. Like you probably already know, poke shops were like frozen yogurt spots / hot chicken spots, blew up super fast and they were everywhere. That being said, the best poke I've personally had was in Fullerton. I know there are a lot of other good spots in the OC. For some reason, poke in Glendale sounded just as bad as poke in the Valley. I was in the city to do get some tax stuff done since the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration loves to keep people on hold for hours - then when I show up in person, there's no one in line and the workers are not on the phones... Anyways, after asking why they didn't pick up my calls and getting an awkward answer that they didnt hear any ringing, I Yelped nearby restaurants and saw this place. Generally high praise and good reviews so I decided I'll try it out against my gut feeling.. * I really wanted to like this spot... but my taste buds and stomach did not agree with me at all. They have the usual selection of fish and toppings plus an unusual item or two like scallop. I got the my bowl with tuna, yellowtail and scallops. Whatever toppings and sauce I got were good and flavorful (toppings and the sauces were the best part) the rice was acceptable at best. But, the protein... the fish/scallops here were just not good. I made my bowl the usual way I get it and it looked fire. Past that, every bite I took just made it less palatable. Fish/scallops weren't spoiled but they were definitely about to get there soon. The fish chunks were like chewing into Jello that's been refrigerated. It was not soft at all like it should be. Scallops were even more disappointing - I should've known better than to get tiny quarter size scallops that look like they were from the frozen food section at WalMart. I was even more disappointed AND I'm leaving a 1 star, because they clearly advertise that they get fresh fish EVERY DAY on their site. This was part of the reason why I even came here. I asked the guy working if the fish comes in everyday, and he was just in idgaf mode and said "..yeah like 2 days ago". Again, I should've just known better and walked out... Thinking that maybe MY taste buds/stomach was off that day, I refrigerated the rest quickly to try the next day. Nope, it was even worse. Fish that has harder texture than old boba... too much stuff going on at once, the ratios were off as well. I didn't yak or get food poisoning, but after eating some bites my stomach just felt off immediately- I've never had that kind of feeling that quickly before. I'd avoid this place if I were you. Any place that isn't truthful about the freshness of their FISH when their business depends on FISH is not a place you want to eat at. read more
