California Roll and Black Jack Roll
    Aimee P.

I've been here several times, and keep coming back for their kung pao chicken and lo mein noodles. We always order sushi rolls too and have yet to be disappointed. Very nicely rolled and have always been fresh. Each plate is on average $16-18 ish dollars and so we will usually order a few and share. Today it was just 2 of us. Today we ordered the mixed version of kung pao chicken ( I can't remember what it's called) but it includes chicken, beef and shrimp and it was delicious. They slice the chicken and beef nice and thin so it's very tender. We also ordered the Black Jack Roll, house Roll and a California roll. I'm getting hungry all over again. The staff has always been nice enough, always young people trying to cover all their tables and never rude. Today the guy made an extra effort to come check on our table and it's appreciated but I'm not one to fault the restaurant if they don't. I've never been a server but I believe them to be under appreciated and so far not had a negative experience here. Anyway, if you're looking for good Chinese and Sushi, definitely come check them out. Ooh and they have garlic edamame which is always a plus.

So many people I know go to eat here. I finally went for the first time. The hot and sour soup was so so good! I would go back just for that. I also ordered a couple of sushi rolls. Very good food and service. Recommend.

Ordered just 1 dish - Lo mein - on this app at 7:37 PM. It said it would be ready between 8:12-8:22 PM. The status never updated!

The Gai Wings were flavorful, moist on the inside, and perfectly crispy on the outside. The Lemongrass Soup was bright and slightly herbal with a refreshing hint of lemon. The Pad See-U had that wonderful savory, slightly sweet soy sauce flavor, and the Sautéed Eggplant was soft and silky with a savory, garlicky flavor and just a touch of sweetness. We enjoyed it all with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, which made an already great meal even better. Wonderful food, warm atmosphere, and impressive service. The…read morefact that they were participating in Dine LA was a trigger, to make another visit there for lunch. I tried to invoke the dinner menu, but they were not willing. Not a problem, the lunch menu was equally enticing. A 2-course offering for $25. I started with the Thai Prawn Ceviche. This course was wonderfully balanced, not too acidic, also a nice touch of sweetness and plump flavorful prawns. For the main, my selection was the Beef Truffle Wok-Seared Noodles. I was delighted that they were round noodles and they arrived at my table stirred in a dark sauce with sliced beef pieces on top. A small porcelain decanter was also supplied, containing the truffle oil. I poured it over my noodles. The beef was tender, moist and could be cut with the usual provided table knife. The whole dish was a winner, from start to finish. Service here, as expected, was well executed. Need to be aware of the parking though. There is a public garage around the corner that is advertised for this establishment and a few others. Problem is, that Star Leaf validates only for 1-hour, while their neighbors do so, for 2-hours. I addressed this issue with the manager at my last visit and this time too. The answer I got was not convincing to suggest that they care, or will do something about it, anytime soon. Oh well.

Of course, I went in because I already know the quality of their food. I always find their noodles fresh and chewy, and the dishes are rich in texture and flavor. But this time, since I was by myself, I didn't order a noodle dish because I was just by myself. So, I ordered the beef roll, which is also to die for! Just really enjoy their food overall. If you've never tried Noodle Street before, definitely check out their menu and give their noodles a try. This particular location was clean, the staff was nice, and the wait wasn't long when I arrived. I would definitely come back again! I'd like to add one more detail. While I was waiting for my food, one of the staff members, possibly the manager, Justin, came over and asked if I'd like to have a small bowl of broth on the side. I said yes and was impressed by that offer. Why? This young man understood that I had ordered only the beef roll, which is a dry dish. Having a little warm broth on the side made it much easier and more enjoyable to eat. I had water, though, but I personally never drink water before or after my meal, so the broth was definitely a perfect complement to the beef roll.
