Small box, white rice with salmon and octopus

My husband was craving poke while we were in Glendale so we stopped by Poke N Roll. I was disappointed by how they charge extra for some of the toppings that are typically common in poke. Everything seemed overpriced and the staff didn't seem happy to help us. My husband asked for wasabi, and they gave him a small container of the tiniest bit of wasabi in there. They seemed stingy and not willing to give more than what exactly fit in their scoop. They also don't mix the sauces in, but give them to you in containers which is unusual compared to other poke places we've been to. The poke tasted good and the fish was fresh, but it was a disappointing eat due to the price and lack of quality service.

    A pathetic amount of fish

I ordered from this establishment for to go off of grub hub. Look at the pathetic amount of fish they put in my order. I paid for an additional scoop and also paid extra for yellowtail which they skimped. They took advantage of the fact it's to go and skimped on the fish. I'm never ordering from them again.

Came to this poke spot in Glendale never been here b4 it was really good and really packed i was amazed on how big the box was so if ur really enjoy poke n want more portion come try this place out fresh and fast

tried this poke spot near the americana and pleasantly surprised at how fresh the fish was!and for a size large, we got a considerable portion. ive tried other poke spots in glendale and nothing really stood out (although also not bad) and i would say poke n roll ranks slightly above the others. the only gripe i had was that the sauce wasnt mixed into our fish like i was used to, i maybe could have asked for them too but i found it odd they didnt do it automatically. so i was just dipping my fish into the sauce on the side.. otherwise i would return! really friendly workers and seems the staff are huge fans of house and I really enjoyed the freshness of the salmon especially.

each sauce is one dollar! I hope you aren't the type to like to put everything on it lol

I decided to try out a new poke spot and I'm a little disappointed. I've tried a few pokey spots and I'm well aware that pokey is not cheap. However, I always feel like you get your moneys worth except for today. I paid $23 for this Poké bowl. The fish was very fresh and so were all the ingredients, but I felt like the staff could've been more friendly. The young lady that assisted me didn't give me any type of direction. It was my first time here. The fish options that they had were very simple. The toppings were also very simple. Being that it was my first time, I asked the girl to pick a sauce that was sweet and spicy because I wasn't familiar with the sauces. and she gave me a container didn't explain what it was and just said it's going to be extra. I tasted it. I think it was oyster sauce, but it definitely was not what I was looking for so I went back and asked for two additional sauces, which both were a dollar each extra. I won't be coming back. Although it was fresh and it tasted good. It did not meet my expectations for a poke bowl. My advice would be to thoroughly read the board menu before ordering so you don't miss out on any special toppings. I usually rely on the employees to kind of suggest the good stuff. and I usually like all the sauces mixed so it was unfortunate that I had to pay for each single one. They had plenty of parking and it was really nice, clean and fresh inside. Very nice place.

Susuru Ramen Bar is a real neighborhood spot for ramen, and worth the walk and the drive! The Chicken Karaage is the perfect blend of moist and crispiness, and didn't feel heavy or oily. Some places serve chicken karaage over-breaded or drenched in oil, but not Susuru! The Mayu Ramen is really where it's at though. This pork-broth base ramen with black garlic oil surprisingly uses egg noodles, so it's a richer, different taste that certainly stands out. At the same time, no singular taste overwhelms the rest of the dish, and everything from the seasoned soft boiled egg to the perfectly charred chiashu work together in one harmonious feast. This is one ramen bowl that is literally good to the last drop!

Saw the high reviews so had to check it out. Susuru Ramen Bar is located on the corner of Hollywood Blvd and N Kingsley Dr. The lot is small sharing spaces with other restaurants so your best bet is street parking, which can also be tricky especially later in the day. The restaurant is small, with the register counter as the first thing you see walking through the door. There's bar seating against the wall, and 2-3 tables for groups of maybe 4-6 people. The lady manning the front counter as well as taking orders and serving was fantastic. Very friendly and checked up on all tables through out the night. For ramen, my bf got the Tonkotsu ($1 extra for spicy), and I got the Mayu. I see why it has such high reviews, both were delicious. The roasted garlic oil was amazing and complimented the pork broth. The seasoned soft-boiled egg was our favorite part, not just lightly seasons either. It was sweet and savory with each bite, and the creaminess from the jammy yolk was fantastic. The charred cha siu slices had a slight sweetness too, and the fat through the slices gave it this wonderful melt in your mouth, mouth feel. The tonkostu spicy used the same broth just added the chili oil to it and gave it a good bite. The noodles had a nice chew to it. It was just the perfect bowl on a chilly May evening. Definitely worth checking out for a great bowl of ramen.

We made reservations for 9 but arrived 15 minutes early and luckily 2 people had just left so we were seated immediately. We were welcomed by Missy as she helped us order food for which was supposed to be for 2 people but the food was so good we ate for about like 4 people and don't regret a second of it. Before I continue I just want to put it out there that Missy had exceptional customer service skills and she was so funny and super attentive and so nice, I almost wanted to hug her before we left lol. We started with edamame and spicy tuna on crispy rice and immediately after that I knew we were about to eat some bomb sushi, and sure enough walked in happy and left ecstatic because we're coming back this week for round 2. Fish was INSANE quality, sashimi was literal butter, the rolls were out of this world. For someone who orders extra sauce for once I didn't have to use extra ponzu or spicy mayo because everything is just so flavorful. Thank you SANTŌ you can take all my money any day! This hand roll spot blew me away and I can't wait to return…read more Although KazuNori has been my go-to handroll spot for years and years, only one or two other places ever came close. Now Sogo took the top place for my favorite! Stopped by Friday for lunch and it was pretty calm so I was able to chat more with the friendly staff. I started off with some Naguryama "Crane Castle" sake in a carafe and it was delicious. One of the best sake I've ever had and this place has a fantastic array of sake available! For food I went with the baked crab crispy rice first and this was amazing. The only place I've found doing a "crab" crispy rice and it was spot on. The rice was so crispy without being oily or chewy. Then I went with the six roll set (subbing the spicy tuna with a toro scallion) and although each roll was absolutely wonderful, my top three would have to be the toro, albacore kari kari, and crab. Each roll has a great amount of warm rice that is so fluffy and flavored well without overpowering the fish. The fish isn't cold either so there isn't a drastic temperature change. My ONLY complaint is that one or two of the rolls had seaweed that instantly got soft and chewy so it was hard to bite through. I'm not sure if these pieces of seaweed were left open when they were about to be used? Did they get moisture? It didn't ruin my experience but I definitely noticed it. BUT I will say what I appreciated is the small strip of seaweed that is tucked on the bottom to keep all the filling in the handroll and not spill out as you bite! I added a salmon, unagi, and lobster hand rolls as well to really get a good sense of the menu. The salmon itself was good but I think the sauce they used (maybe a yuzu based?) was a bit too much and overpowered it. The lobster and unagie however were perfect! The unagi was warm, crispy, buttery while the lobster was rich and delicious. Absolutely great lunch and a place that I am happy to return to.

Ingredients are fresh with a refreshing focus on Yuzo. Portions are on the thin side, making dishes seem very like you're ordering a tasting menu. Hungry appetites should certainly over-order.
