They did not let me know I was getting "gel" nail polish for my pedicure and charged me $60 for just a basic pedicure, no nail art, nothing complicated, just straight color. Then they charged me $55 for basic acrliyc nails, no French tips, just straight color. this place genuinely sucks. I've been here a couple of times to either get my toes done or get an full set of acrylic nails with a paint job. The acrylic is either too bumpy and big and not filed correctly. Asked for sharp square and get square that's rounded at the edges... different lengths and used dirty materials that was used on a pervious customer on me. Terrible. My paint already chipped 11/17 and I got them done Saturday 11/15 a shame. And have the nerve to be damn near 60 dollars if you pay with card. read more

This business is a poor representation of a nail salon. The women in there is rude, has poor communication skills, and speaks rather yells at children. Their work is less then adequate. I would NEVER recommend this place.. they will penny pinch you for each piece of rhinestone.. charging $150 dollars for something you can receive at half the cost at a reputable establishment. This was my go to place for years. A lot of new faces are in there. First Lady did my nails horribly and only took off a few dollars ( it was someone's mother that works there..). Second person tried to correct it he really wanted to give me a new full set and charge me for a fill, but he was watched like a hawk, she got her 10,000 steps in that day she checked on me so many times. The third was much better but, I wonder is their solution old or something because I have never experienced my nails popping off like press ons. Reasonable pricing and job well done! I got to my appointment late! However I was so thankful they still made arrangements so that I could get my dip set and a polish change for my toes all within an hours length! They do a good job with shaping nails and keeping the natural look going! Not to mention they have A GREAT COLOR SELECTION! Unfortunately one of my nails got infected after jamming it so from here on out I've made the decision to stay away from dip manis. My main reason being that like most salons following this Trend every person dips their finger into the same dip powder they're not separating the powder for each client. I'm a huge fan of the dip manis so it'll be bittersweet to let them go! So my next mani will be with regular gell/shellac---which they also have a great selection of colors! Today, 8/15/22, was my first time ever visiting this nail shop. I chose it based on the reviews and star rating. I called before going, wherein they said they had no wait for pedis, but I had to wait about 30 minutes before being seated, and then another 20 minutes before the guy started working on my feet. So, I got a gel pedicure. The pedi itself was just standard. I've had really good gel pedis and this just was ok. The whole experience was underwhelming - not relaxing, as I had wished. My issue, though, is that he used the callus remover on the side of my foot and cut my foot. It may appear to be a small cut but it hurts pretty bad. The cost for the pedi was $54 and I gave him a $6 tip, PRIOR to me seeing the damage to my foot. When I called the shop to speak to the manager, I requested a partial refund. She kept making excuses and basically refused to give me a refund. Hence, why I'm leaving this review. Needless to say, I will never return here again. read more

i'm very disappointed and upset with my first visit to this salon. i came in to get a full set with gel polish and Nini did gel powder without asking and used the wrong color and wouldn't let me change it or give me my money back. i even brought in my own polish and she seen it wasn't the color i wanted but continued to say it was the right color. when i asked if i could change it to the color i wanted, she was going to charge me another $20. i already spent $75 on a set i wasn't even satisfied with. and then proceeded to argue with me and make a scene when i was speaking to her in a reasonable manner. absolutely horrible service and RUDE! isn't it customers first before anything? never will i ever recommend this place to anyone! 0/10 read more

This place has horrible service. My nail polished was wrinkled while he did my gel nails. He told me it was ok. But it looked like my polish was sliding off my nails while It was drying. He wasn't gonna fix them. He didnt know how to do the nail designs. He was uber slow. After i was done it looked like a 5 year old did my nails. Another time i went, the lady rushed my pedicure and my full set. My toe nail were all different shapes and sizes. She clipped nails on one foot but left the other foot all different messed. The Polish was on my cuticles and all gel nail chipped in a week. The same wrinkling happened to my full set like when the guy did it. But i paid over a 100 dollars. Im sick of going there!!!!! I called to make an appointment for the first time for my mother. The technician was professional and pleasant to work with. He treats my mom very good and gentle. HORRIBLE SERVICE! They are using expired acrylic so your nails break for no reason. When I went back to get it fixed, Nini, was rude and made me wait 2 hours as she argued with other customers about the same issues. When I finally got In her chair, which she was NOT sanitizing between clients, she told me I need to learn how to use my nails. She also told me that this repair would be free but next time wouldn't. Johnny is a great technician! Does a good job and pleasant to talk to. I first went to him last year with my husband just before our wedding for double mani / pedis. That was back when Johnny and his brother were at Aria Nails in Brooklyn before closing down and moving to Maple Heights. Last year was fun but it was clear that that location just didn't get a lot of business so I understand why they decided to move to the Maple Heights location. We went here yesterday morning (Friday) and it got crowded quickly but my husband and I were lucky as we were the third customers in so we were put in a chair right away. Anyway, the pricing is the best around...$40 for a mani/pedi is a steal! The work is pretty good and the technicians are pleasant. The place could use a little dusting and it would be great if they offered eyebrow waxing service. They are located next to a restaurant so with the door open, expect some flies getting in. Also, like I said earlier this place gets crowded and although they have several technicians available it may be your best bet to get their early (before the shop even opens) or just go on a day where there's less busy like the beginning of the work week. Maple Heights is a quite a drive from Lakewood but for the great pricing and Johnny, I would make the trip every once in a while. For a typical and inexpensive nail salon, this is among the best. I went to this place about two weeks ago from today. What a change in the business.( This was one of my go to spot for many of years along with walmart until it closed. Walmart, was not that great to be honest.) Anyway, I had stop coming some years ago because when i got artificial nails, (with acrylic) they will start to peel about a day or two later. (this actually was happening to other customers as well. in fact, there were some young ladies in there who complained about that the product before i did and low and behold, my nails did the same. :( I no longer were fake nails. Only my real ones because they grow to fast and the acrylic was eating my nails up to bad.(making them extremely unhealthy) So now, i only do a regular mani and pedi. I came to try this place again off of giving them another try, am glad i did. Bo Bo was my technician. (there was a young man she was talking to, didn't catch his name but, he did an awesome job on the lady next to me) She did such an excellent job, I am willing to go back and feel very happy now as this place is close to home. I will be making appointments only with her unless she is not there, i will give the other young man a try. Throughout my visit, everyone was nice and courtesy. (maybe new management?) I plan to call and make an appointment tomorrow and plan to visit at least twice a month, I think I have return back to my old home again for my nail care, needs. Thanks California nails! (oh and btw, they dont rush and finish your nails because others are there, they take their time and, it's worth the wait. you will also LEARN what a real manicure and pedicure is. You will be amazed at how many steps are skipped to get done and do other customers. if anything changes, i will update! add on. they also dont make you pay before the services is finished...hahaha. I went in for a basic manicure. I wanted my cuticles trimmed and my nails shaped. I didn't want a color, just clear polish. The nail tech did the minimum, no scrub, oil, massage, lotion or anything and charged me almost $20. It was not worth it and even though it's in my neighborhood, I won't be back. read more

After two bad & rude experiences with salons today, I think I found my new home. Went in for a repair, they were shorthanded but I got in quickly after not too long. Lady did a technique I never saw before that was gentle & fast to remove fungus & did a great job, exactly as I asked & wanted, didn't argue w/me on what I wanted in terms of length & all and did a great job. Also explained why I was getting fungus & told me they were a family business & all did the same technique. The salon was cozy too. I will be going back. Thank you! read more
