This was my quickest appointment yet, starting from receptionist to the very fine technicians who checked, and tested my eyesight,to taking photos of my retinas. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable, any questions I had were answered. Dr Dadgostar checked my retinal pictures, and,then the retina connections. My 99 year old mother was referred by an Opthamology doctor at Facey for an occlusion. The first appointment they said to allow 2 hours and it was exactly 2 hours. Everyone was very professional and efficient. Not overly sweet and friendly but very courteous. Toki was my favorite mostly because of his name. My ONLY gripe is the business is not elderly friendly. While they do have multiple ADA parking in front, they're usually full. The office is on the 2nd floor and the ONLY bathroom is on the 1st floor. They really need more ADA bathrooms on the 2nd floor. read more

I have been here a few times now. This place was recommended to me after cataract surgery so we can keep an eye on some things. Everyone in the office is so kind and caring. I see Dr Dadgostar and he is so calm and nice. Everyone is the office is very nice and helpful - even to trying to get some precious records released from another place so I don't have to do it. Coming here makes me nervous and everyone is calm which helps in turn make me more calm The outer waiting room is small and it can get tight if people are waiting for patients to drive them home. The best! I was diagnosed with a detached retina and was immediately sent to see Dr. Dadgostar. I was shocked and frightened to learn that I even had this problem and worried that I'd likely go blind in that eye. Immediately upon arriving at The Retina Partners office I began to find some calming because of the caring staff and excellent care by Dr. Dadgostar. Last summer I was diagnosed with a retinal problem and was referred to The Retina Partners by the ophthalmologist at Facey. When I called to make the appointment I asked what doctor I would be seeing, because the ophthalmologist hadn't given me a name. I was told they couldn't tell me the name of the doctor, that all of their doctors were "the same", and was told to go online to look them up myself. I decided to see another ophthalmologist, this one in Beverly Hills, for a second opinion. When I told him of my experience trying to make an appointment, he spent time looking at the doctors in the practice, and recommended Dr. Engstrom. I scheduled an appointment back in November with Dr. Engstrom, but at 4pm the day before my appointment I received a call saying that my appointment had been cancelled because Dr. Engstrom was no longer taking new patients. When I asked Julie, the receptionist, why they were letting me know at the last minute, I was told that the decision was made recently. This didn't seem right to me, so I asked to speak with someone who could explain why I was notified only hours before my appointment. She transferred me to the practice manager, Laurie, who was extremely rude, and I mean EXTREMELY rude. I don't know if the doctors in this practice know how their employees speak to patients, but if they condone this behavior, then shame on them. So, Dr. Engstrom, you might be a great doctor, but you are not doing yourself any favors by having someone like Laurie in your employ. When patients have a problem with their eyesight, and are at potential risk of losing that eyesight, perhaps you could hire employees who are more empathetic than Laurie. I'm not sure what's wrong with the doctors here in the SCV, but I'll continue to make the trip into Beverly Hills to receive QUALITY healthcare. read more

Dr. Moysidis saved the vision in my left eye, I genuinely believe. Went to him on an emergency referral for a detached retina, and he immediately diagnosed the problem with high-technology cameras and scans, and then provided three options for care. He was patient to discuss those options with me and we both agreed one specific path (cryofreeze of a leak and insertion of a gas bubble behind my eye to push the detached retina back into place) was the best call. He expertly performed those two outpatient procedures efficiently and with minimal discomfort (total time 10-15 minutes), and then gave me good instructions and prescriptions for follow-up care. I then saw him four more times for prioritized checkups over the next week (including a laser procedure to more firmly reattach the retina), and then about four more times over the next two months. He was always very kind and patient, clear and helpful, and totally knowledgeable about everything. I went from my left eye seeing black in 3/4 of my eye and maybe a day away from going permanently blind in that eye, to no obvious difference in the quality of my vision from before the detachment. Stay away! This place has the worst patient service ever! They overbook patients ( the waiting room looks like a can of sardines) and then make you wait up to TWO hours. THEN, when patients start questioning why they have to wait so long or why they overbook, Julie, who is at the front desk, cops an attitude and is VERY condescending with anyone dares to ask such questions. She was UBER rude and should not be working with people since she has NO people skills. As I waited in the waiting area, EVERY single patient there was talking/complaining about how rude Julie is. Why does a place like this employee people like that? Steer clear of this place unless you want to have un unpleasant experience or are willing to not ask any questions. read more

Dr. Engstrom far exceeded my expectations! I didn't want to like him. Why you might ask? 'Cause I was grumpy I had to go to this appointment in the first place feeling it was a waste of time but deep in my gut thought best to check out a possible issue with my sight. So I thought well if there's the least little thing about him that rubs me the wrong way I'll probably just walk out. That was not the case! My first time taking my mother to The Retina Partners. The receptionist was very unprofessional and rude. My mother had the appointment which was confirmed by her insurance and The Retina Partners, but Julie cancelled the appointment due to a clerical error on her card and didn't let her see the doctor. Upon my protest, she challenged me to call her boss. I brought my 78 year old mother, who is loosing her eyesight home and was working on fixing the error with Anthem Blue Cross when her supervisor called me and without listening to my side of the story fully backed her up and declared the punishment valid and rightful. read more
