Called AAA today for towing service and they sent a driver from California Roadside. This was the worse nightmare ever. The driver who showed up was obnoxious and very rude. He was impatient and did not want to do the work he is supposed to do. He asked my daughter who is recovering from a kidney transplant to push the car so he could tow it. I'm sorry but the driver is supposed to be able to do the work not ask a young woman with a transplant to love a 3000 lbs car because he does not want to do it or wait for assistance from someone who could help. He was sent to us by AAA, who was notified and was reporting him and to ensure he does not work for them again. This is just so ridiculous and pathetic. Definitely will ensure never to use this company whether on my own or via AAA. read more

California Roadside Towing DROPPED MY CAR off the flatbed... Now they are REFUSING TO FIX my car. I submitted my estimate that I received from an Auto Body shop and they said they don't want to fix my car, for that price (around $3,000) but offered me $1000. They said the price is too high... I told them Tesla told me to take it to a Tesla Certified Auto Body shop, and that is what I did, the closest to my house... I told them I will take it to another shop, but that's all I can do because I've already taken the car to Tesla and a Tesla Certified body shop and they told me the price is too high and they would only offer me $1,000. 1K will not fix my car. That's an insult. I'm not an auto body guy, but when they dropped my car off the flatbed, both my side fenders broke, my undercarriage parts are broken, my front bumper does NOT align with my fenders and headlamps anymore... I'm sure there's internal pieces broken because it is LOOSE AND I CAN HEAR IT... As of now, my car is still damaged. It seems like they DON'T WANT TO USE INSURANCE and THEY ARE LOW BALLING ME... I don't understand it, but THEY ARE NOT RIGHT how they are handling this... $1000, is NOT GOING TO FIX MY CAR. AAA sent this tow company to me. After about an hour of waiting, the tow truck driver shows up. Tells me to open my hood and starts working on my cars. Pouring water in the engine, I told him not to touch my engine because I was going to have my Mechanic take a look at it, and that i only needed a tow. Then tells me its okay to drive. I tell him I do not feel comfortable driving my car home, and told him that I want a tow. He insists that it will make it to my house, and refused to give me a ride. So me thinking thinking it was okay to trust a tow company that AAA sent me, I started driving. On the 57 freeway northbound right as the 91 joins, my car overheats and turns off. So I had cruise off of the freeway. Now my car is smoking and leaking a bunch of fluid. So I call AAA back. And they tell me I have to wait until 5am to get picked up. So another tow company gives me a tow and informed that the California Roadside Service should have just gave me the tow, like I asked, and not pour water into my engine. So I contact AAA and informed them of all of this. California roadside service told me that they were going to ask their tow truck driver what happened. Of course he lies and claims there was a male helping me. And they refused to fix my car. read more

I feel as if I was violated and physically abused by AAA. I asked AAA to replace my dead battery TWICE and they just wouldn't! First tech said the battery was fine. Second tech cancelled. Tow truck arrived almost 4hours later. I wasted 5hrs of my life. I missed the concert!! The kicker is that all of this could have been avoided if the first tech just replaces the f-ing battery. They said eta was 8:26pm. - 8:28pm they cancelled my request saying even if they replaces the battery, the Jeep dealer would have to program the battery ????!!!!! They said they could only send a tow truck -8:30pm. I get a text that a tow truck will arrive by 12:01 I have been dealing with this for 3hours. Called triple a since we locked ourselves out of the car, estimated time of arrival was 9:01pm and the person helping us arrived at 8:45pm sooner than expected which was great. They were genuinely helpful and kept trying to get the door open (since it was an older model Lexus, it was a bit harder to do so). Was not able to find the keys for about 15 mins still after door unlocked and they were concerned and even helped us find the keys, stayed until we eventually found the keys. Yesterday during rush hour traffic, I got a flat tire on the 22. A nail went straight through the bottom of my tire and out the sidewall. I called AAA (well worth the cost) and they sent Jose from California Roadside Service. It was a completely unnerving and scary experience that left me in tears, to be honest. Yes, I've learned how to put on a spare. But when you're on a narrow shoulder and cars are flying by and there's no exit near bc you're right in the middle of where two freeways are merging, it is a different story. Luckily there was a small clearing about a hundred yards up where I could get further off the freeway. Regardless, it would have taken me hours to do it. Jose arrived and immediately added levity to the stressful situation with his humor. He worked quickly and efficiently. When he was done, he offered advice to me on how to merge back on the freeway safely with an added warning of how often accidents happen in this location. He clearly explained how to properly drive with my spare so it doesn't overheat and pop. I can't tell you how much I appreciated the kindness, compassion, and humor from Jose while he fixed up my car. California Roadside Service saved my day! I had been having issues with my car and was unable to fully fix the issue, but still needed to get from A to B. Well, yesterday morning, I couldn't even make it 10 miles before I needed to pull over and shut my car off. I scheduled my tow through AAA app and my tow arrived so quickly! He beat the ETA by an hour which made my day as I was stuck in a random neighborhood. My driver handled getting my vehicle in a good position and hooking it up to the truck very quickly then got my car and I home. Due to the quick rescue, I was able to get the parts needed to fix my car same day and I'm back on the road today! Amazing customer service and quick rescue! For AAA it's an additional $12/ mile after your allotted mileage which I felt was very fair for the additional 3 miles I needed to get home. My husband stood there and watched the guy replace the battery, all within less than 5 minutes. Afterward we saw the invoice via email, and a $40 charge for "difficult installation" had been added/charged. My husband called and got the runaround as well. He then called AAA and was told there was nothing they could do. He called the place back again after that and they didn't answer this time. Be very aware of this company's scam. Regardless if you have a difficult installation or not, they're gonna charge you for it. Never again for us. I don't care if it was only a $10 charge, I don't like being scammed. Sadly, I have to give one underserved star to post a review. Today 12/21 around 10:05 am a towing truck with two BIG guys arrived to my sister's address to have my car towed to the dealer. Service requested through AAA, the BIG guy names Paul asked me what the problem was and I mentioned the battery, he jumped started the car and told me he didn't have to take it to the dealer since it started. Really? I requested specifically that, my car doesn't have gas, I can't go to a gas station and turn it off because it won't start, again. I can't not let my car run because AGAIN I HAVE DON'T GAS. Called AAA for my truck to be towed home from a transmission shop after having some work done. The problem was that the battery (which was new) would not hold a charge, so it couldn't be driven home. AAA sent out California Roadside West. When the driver arrived, he immediately began taking pictures of my truck and got on the phone with his dispatcher. Once he finished his phone call, he to me that his supervisor told him not to tow my truck!! He stated that the company no longer tows vehicles with lowered suspensions for liability sake. Now mind you I had previously had my truck towed via various companies through AAA 9 times, and every driver worth his salt knew exactly what to do!!! After some back and forth with the diver and his supervisor, they refused to tow my truck because of its lowered suspension, and just left me hanging with no other alternatives for help!! And the part that really pisses me of is that they have pictures posted on their Yelp page of lowered vehicles on the backs of their tow trucks!!! THAT'S FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!! This sparked a whole other ordeal with AAA, whom I wasn't to happy with either. Eventually my truck was towed home by another company, who wasn't afraid of liability issues, knew what they were doing, and treated my truck like it was their own. AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED, CALIFORNIA ROADSIDE WEST SUCKS BIG TIME!! They can't tow any of my cars from now on, lowered suspension or not!!
