However, the three experiences I've had at Cali Tort have been so average, or below average, I just can't keep it in the dark. I'm a big fan of the fast casual joints. I like Caltort, but I don't like this location as much as the Royersford one. I feel like the burritos are always a bit less quality (poorly wrapped, falling apart) and the guac is sometimes a bit weird tasting. It's still decent, but not as good as the other local location. Will never visit this location again. Long story short, they refused to comp a meal that their poorly-trained and/or ADHD-suffering staff screwed up for the umpteenth time, a comp I was PROMISED when I spoke to the manager on the phone. It had gotten to the point where I was asking them before I left "did you remember the ___ ?" The guys on the line actually laughed at me because they knew I was the guy who kept "complaining." Don't offer customers choices of toppings if you can't/won't accommodate them! It's actually better to say "no substitutions." We tried this place out tonight. OMG! First of all, my son opened our nachos and two flies walked out of the container. Talk about getting grossed out! I ordered the chicken fajitas. There was no option to order corn tortillas instead of flour tortillas so I just ate the chicken, peppers and onions as I'm gluten free. The beans were tasteless black beans. The rice was dry and flavorless. The cheese on the nachos reminded me of the stuff that comes in a can that you squirt on cheese fries. Disgusting. Honestly the rice and beans tasted like they came out of a bag. They were not fresh. California Tortilla trash bins should have hazardous material signs on them to keep poor unsuspecting dumpster divers away. I should have read the clues. For instance, desserts were chocolate chunk cookies or brownies. No flan, no tres leches, no sopapillas, etc. One of the tacos was Korean BBQ. Who puts BBQ sauce on tacos? What is spicey sunset sauce? Folks, do yourself a favor and go to El Burrito on Bridge Street or Los Mariachis on Gay Street. Both are wonderful family owned places. P.S. I'm a huge fan of Mexican cuisine. There are a few great spots in Phoenixville where you can find this. After visiting Rebel Hill a few times and seeing California Tortilla, I figured I would give it a shot. I ordered through Door Dash. The food arrived quickly and was still warm. I ordered 3-fish tacos and a small order of chips & guac. The fish tacos were heavily oversalted. They were so salty that I am now downing a large bottle of water. The guac was good. The chips were okay but had a strange taste to them. I'm actually really sad about this. I've never had "bad" Mexican food ... until now. I hate to say it, but I feel Taco Bell is on par, if not a slight step up from this. I'm not saying this is the norm, but with this being my first experience I'm not planning to order again. El Burrito on Bridge is the best in the area - I recommend them in a heartbeat over California Tortilla. Over the weekend my husband tested positive for salmonella poisoning after eating a chicken burrito from this establishment. We decided to have family lunch here, since it just opened off 724 in front of a new apartment complex. There are a few shops in the complex, a brewery, pet store, fitness place, and a fish store. My husband prefers CaliforniaTortilla over it's competitors, so he was glad it was so close by. They have outdoor seating on nicer days and the seating inside is small, but cozy. We ordered our food with the manager we believe, she was a young thin lady. She was very kind and made it a very pleasant experience. Our food was ready within 5 minutes of ordering. My husband ordered a burrito, I ordered a bowl, and my daughters had cheese tortilla kid meals. I was not happy with my bowl, it just did not taste good. I went back to the woman I ordered from and she was so accommodating. She said I could pick something else off the menu in exchange. I wasn't sure what to get and she suggested I just build my own bowl to ensure I would like it. It was a great idea, because I was very happy with my meal. My girls enjoyed their food, my older daughter did say her chips were not salty enough, but my husband said it was just very lightly salted. Overall, we were very happy and will come back. Went to the one in Phoenixville. Their burritos cost about $8-9 bucks but as far as other standard Tex Mex chains, it is overpriced for what you're getting. I got the chicken and pork burritos. The rice, sour cream, meat were not spread evenly into the burrito. Not sure if cheese was part of the burrito, because I didn't see much queso in the burrito even when they said there would be. The chicken was really tough and salty and the pork was tender but bland. The chicken burrito was overall seasoned pretty welll. The pork burrito did not have much texture inside, no crunch factor, just a lot of mush with bland rice and meat. There wasn't any fresh salsa to go inside the burrito. I did get the pre-made burritos w already selected items, so it didn't have everything that i would expect in a normal burrito. if I were to get it made fresh per my requests, it could be be better. Regardless, I can get a much delicious, filling burrito at Chipotle for a buck cheaper. Probably won't be going back.. read more

Recently ordered lunch for a office meeting. There are so many options but we ended up with 4 California sunset bowls! The chicken is juicy and in huge chunks. Spinach is fresh, salsa is flavorful, and the mixed vegetables all were cooked properly. I enjoyed the spiciness of the sunset sauce. I wish there was a little more avocado though. read more

One for dinner the cubano bowl which was so fresh tasting and flavorful so damn good with a order of chips and queso. I sent them a private message and photo right away via facebook messenger but no response after 2 days. I probably should have called but I don't know of any business with a presence on facebook that doesn't monitor their messages. I tried the chicken nachos tonight and got a container of soggy mush. I did try the pick up option and picked up right at the time I specified, so I'm not sure why it was so soggy. It smelled so good and I wanted to like it, but the nachos were completely soft and blended in with the queso. I ended up adding a few of my own chips and having a couple of bites and then tossing the rest of it. I'm hoping my next experience is better because I've heard such good things. read more
