This was our first time eating at IL Granaios's Phoenixville location (having been to the Glen Mills location may times). We went to celebrate my wife's birthday and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Like the Glen Mills location, food was simply amazing and portion sizes were extremely generous. After helping my stepson move into his new apartment in Phoenixville, we walked up Bridge Street looking for a place to eat. Luckily, one of us spotted Il Granaio. This cool restaurant is located in the basement of a hotel. The decor down here was beautiful. We started with glasses of wine and appetizers. The Homemade Meatballs were very good, but the Bruschetta was amazing, probably the best I've had. For entrees, I went with the Sweet Sausage Ragout and my wife had the Chicken & Shrimp Coronado. We both loved them! The homemade pasta with sausage was a great dish. We got here early on a Saturday evening so we didn't have a wait. By the time we left, the place was packed. Definitely recommend making a reservation. This will be a frequent stop when we come down to visit! read more

Food and portion sizes are amazing. Service can be hit or miss when super busy on weekends. We went with a group for my daughter's birthday and were seated in a noisy area when I had reserved the back room for a larger party. Manager apologized for the oversight but made no accommodation to remedy the mistake. All in all a good night... but our table by the door was hot. I've been other times and have had better experiences. Will go back for sure. read more

Lived in Bay Ridge for a while where every other restaurant was an Italian restaurant. This place definitely holds up. The presentation of the food and the taste were all good quality. Came here for my girlfriend's birthday. It was quite busy when we went so we had to wait quite a while to get our checks when we finished eating. The parking lot gets full pretty quick since it's on bridge street. I recommend walking here if you can. Not the best at rating Italian food honestly. I think it all tastes great to me. Had dinner at Il Granaio on Good Friday, and it was delicious! It starts with the fresh Italian bread served with spiced olive oil with an infusion of hummus. This is absolutely fantastic! We had the fried calamari and the appetizer, polenta dish, which was absolutely out of this world! Everyone at our table had different entrées, and everyone left very happy. The wine list is not extensive, but what they have on the list is quality. if you do happen to order a salad, I highly recommend their Caesar, as it is served in a Parmesan crisp bowl! In addition, it is plenty to split between two people. Our team of servers were delightful and very helpful, and the atmosphere was lively. Definitely a great place, and one that is well worth trying when in Phoenixville. read more

The food was fine however, if this most recent experience were my first - I'd never go back. The staff was taking plates we were actively eating from, reaching across the table and in front of people's eating space while they actively ate, and attempting to fill sprite with water multiple times. There's attentive service and there's invasive service. This was aggressively invasive and ruined the entire experience. Having people loudly removing small plates or bread holders while actively in your meal makes you feel rushed and you'll lose appetite quickly to just fulfill their requirement to get you out of the space and churn the table as quickly as possible. That's a shame considering but two similar experiences means it's a trend. Maybe we'll try again in a few years. read more

Overall food was decent, good portions, and the servers were very kind, but not the best dining experience I've ever had. We had a reservation and ended up being seated over a half hour after our reservation time. We then did not get our entrees for an hour and 15 minutes after being seated. Even though servers were great and food was good, we were just so exhausted and ready to go home by the time the entrees came. The bread was fantastic. For an app, we got the calamari, which was good but we weren't really into the fried lemon slices that make up almost half of the plate. My husband got the chicken parm for his entree and the sauce was frankly not great. But chicken was good and portion was big. I got the paccheri della casa which was good. I also got a fantastic espresso martini. We got tiramisu to go, unfortunately it was a very small portion size and it tasted entirely of alcohol. Overall there was good and not so good, wouldn't be against going again but would definitely want to go during off hours. read more

This place was well located and had good ambiance and good service. The food on the other hand, was a little lackluster. I got the calamari, which was not the best and a little overly breaded. For my entree, I got the Gnocchi mushroom pasta dish. This dish honestly disappointed since I heard it was one of the top things on the menu. The biggest problem I had with the dish was the Gnocchi itself. The best way I can describe it was watered down?? It definitely did not taste homemade or anything like a proper Gnocchi. For dessert I recommend the tiramisu it was actually pretty good. Overall, I'd rate this place a 6.5/10. read more

Best restaurant in Phoenixville! We've had dinner here a number of times and each visit is consistently amazing. Food would be a solid 5 stars- the basa fish dish was phenomenal and the polenta app was the best version of polenta I've ever had. Hubs said his veal was also the most tender he's had. They also make a solid old fashioned. It's really cute inside but the dining room is incredibly loud and drinks took a long time to be filled from the bar. So 4 stars there. I'd give a 4.5 overall if I could. Definitely adding this place into our rotation. read more
