Nice enough guys but total stoner communication skills. This should be labeled California Head shop not California turntable. I dropped in to ask if they repaired Rca cords and Edgar said no problem it'll be $35. I went and got it and dropped it back by but another guy was there and told me to write a note as to what was wrong. I left my deck on the counter with my note and I left. I immediately felt unsure as I didn't get a work slip or a time it would be finished. The guy working didn't even seem like he knew they worked on turntables. I went back the next day (tue) and walked in to my deck and note in the same place not touched. Two new dudes were there unsure about what was happening with it.. They yelled to the back room and then told me it'll be done by Friday. I asked them to call me when it was done. No call so I went in Friday night. Guess what? My damn deck hadn't moved and my note was in the same spot. Lame!!! I had a gig Sunday so I took my untouched turntable and walked on!! Guys give up on the repairs! You're frustrating and time wasting!! Thanks for nothin! Update: 8/28/18 Edgar kindly messaged me and apologized for my bad experience and offered to repair my deck in 30min if I made an appointment and If I still needed it fixed. I appreciate his time explaining why it wasn't fixed fri when I was told it would be. The guy is busy and is a one man repair hand. I Understand the situation better now. I had a Technics 1200MK2 that needed to have the RCA Jack replaced. I was lucky to find this place, as they specialize in turntables. I called and left a voicemail message and within 10 minutes, I received a text message from Edgar, setting me up with an appointment for the next day. Carlos took my turntable and treated me well. I was expecting to get my turntable back within a week, which i was totally fine with, but Carlos calls me and tells me that Edgar has already started the work and may have it done within two hours after I dropped it off. I picked it up after dropping it off 4 hours earlier. Edgar tested it in front of me and it sounded great. The work was quick, inexpensive, expertly done and guaranteed. Now I've coming here for I think 2 yrs already and Edgar the store manager has always delivered. He does great service. The last job I got done was cleaning out my 1210 grand master techniques. He did a great job, he polished the gold pins inside the tone arms plus he prevented the engine from getting damage by cleaning out the motor which is recommended ever five years. I have got repairs on my techniques for installing brand new RCA cables to both techniques turntables. He gave me a two year warranty which can last a life time. Both the tone arms where broken on my technic 1200 turntables. I took them in to Edgar at California Turntable and he fixed them no problem! I was also interested in some custom work, he was able to make it happen for me. Powder coated them black including the tone arm and weights. Even hooked me up with all black start n stop buttons, on off button as well. He also hooked up custom light underneath the plate and all around! Came out great! I had California Turntable service a pair of Technics M3Ds I bought used on Craigslist. They also swapped out the RCAs for newer better gold tip ones, and did an internal grounding on both. Lastly they replaced all of the LED lighting from stock to Blue. Everything came out perfect. These guys are responsive, professional, knowledgeable, $reasonable$, and they do customer service right. What can i say bout this joint that my 5 star rating hasnt said already? I found out about this place through amazon, i was buying a used traktor A6 for a good deal and called directly. I was flying out of the country in two days and it was thanksgiving week....which means i might not get my traktor in time before i left. Bottom line: edgar helped me out and made sure i got it before my flight! Even when i had issues registering my ish in asia, all i did was email edgar my problem and he personally straightened out the issue with traktor and made my life a lil bit easier. I had a Technics turntable needing repair. I was a little sketched out after reading Adam's review, but decided to give them a shot. Long story short, I am very happy with their service, would definitely recommend to a friend and I would come back to Cali Turntable without hesitation. For a detailed explanation of my experience, keep reading. I took in my table on a Wednesday afternoon, the owner (Edgar) wasnt there. Sure enough, just like Adam described, the person checking in my turntable (who was a cool dude, friendly and welcoming, forgot his name), didn't do much of anything but put my table on the counter and told me to come back Friday. Didn't take any information from me, didn't write down the issue, didn't give me a receipt, etc. A couple days later, I call to see if my table is ready for pick up. Edgar says it will be ready by the end of the day, and asks me if I received a receipt when I turned in my table, I tell him no. He says thats weird because all customers should receive a receipt when dropping off. He proceeds to take my info down and pairs it with my table's serial number. I pick up my table, bring it home only to find out the issue isn't resolved. I call Edgar and he says it tested fine at the shop but tells me to bring it back to take another look. I take it back and he sat with me for a good half hour trying to figure out the issue (my table was dropping a channel when moving the tone arm, I was having trouble recreating the problem at the shop and he was having trouble diagnosing it--- wasn't a straightforward issue). He does a few minor tweaks, explains a few things that could be going wrong and a few things to try at home if the problem persists. Says what I really need is a new tone arm but the ones for my model are very expensive. Says he will look out for a good used one and let me know if he comes across one. Overall, I felt Edgar was extremely knowledgable and provided excellent customer service. If you need repair services for your turntable, this is a good place. read more

I gave them my turntables for a tune up and overall repair. They had no receipt or tagging of my tables when I drop them off and I left with an uneasy feeling. Well my feeling was right! After 6 months of trying to contact them and getting the run around of when they would he ready. The times I would talk to them they told me they did only partial of what I needed. So after such a long dragged out process I STILL have not received my decks! Now they have been reported as closed! I don't know how i can get them back! read more

California Turntable is LEGIT!! I went there to see if they could fix my NI Maschine MK1. They wound up replacing my USB port, and did a really good job of that. Unfortunately, that did not fix my Maschine entirely as I had to send it into NI. Apparently Native Instruments needed to replace another part inside the Maschine to get it working. Native Instruments wound up charging me $150. California Turntable(who was much less) told me that because they could not totally fix the problem after I tried re-installing the software, that I didn't owe them anything because they didn't solve the problem. That was really cool of them not to charge me, and hook me up with a free solid ass USB revamp, which was much higher quality than the original one. The guys over at California Turntable are honest business people, and I really appreciated that they gave it their best shot and didn't BS me after it didn't work. California Turntable also carries a lot of sick graffiti supplies, a massive collection of slip mats, and they can get you just about anything DJ related which you are looking for. They also can customize your turntables or NI Maschine and make that shit look like it's Gold plated or however you want it to look!! This place gets a fucking rad stamp of approval!! read more

This place absolutely sucks! My experience there was this. I brought 2 turntables in for maintenance and to have them self grounded. They told me it would only take 3 days. After 2 weeks I finally got my tables back after calling them over and over. They kept telling me to keep waiting and acted like I was rude for calling. Every time they have attitude! After 2 weeks I was like wtf? Then they're acting like oh yeah we're finishing it today. Every time you call usually no one answers. Very frustrating! You will rarely get a live person and only if there is someone there who gets annoyed by the phone ringing continuously will they answer. After 1 month of taking my tables there they started going haywire, so I had to go back. Google says they open at 1pm I was there at 2:30 and the door was locked. I checked google again and now I guess it was linked to the the guys cell phone instead of the business line. I could tell by the answering machine. After calling a few times he answers all pissed like WHAAT?!?! then says we only do appointment bro, like I was the asshole for expecting someone to be there. Excuse me for expecting you to be open at the time you advertise that you are. You guys should just shut down your company because you take no pride in your work and DJs like me are relying on you to help us with our equipment and if you aren't there for us it's messed up to make us think that you are and stress us out more so, on top of dealing with needing repairs that you were supposed to already fix!
