After finishing both, we immediately went back and ordered two more. Don't judge me :) The first bite is everything, you hear and feel the snap of the casing, and the flavor that follows is absolutely magical. It does take a few minutes to cook, so don't show up hangry. Grab your hot dog and take a walk to the end of the pier. Sit on the steps, look out at the horizon, and enjoy what might be the best hot dog in California.

The parking is either street parking or the adjacent lot for $6. There is seating on the grass nearby or at The Victorian restaurant next door. Drinks are sold at a makeshift bar or at The Victorian. It's a nice event where you can try food from several trucks without having to deal with massive crowds and traffic. While I enjoyed it, my suggestion would be that the folks who operate the Santa Monica food truck lot hire some live entertainment. I love this place!…read more Being new to the area, this has been me n hubby's weekly stop for a number of reasons! 1. compared to first fridays, and being on a tuesday, this lot is real chlll and allows you to walk around freely as you shop the trucks menus 2. every week brings different trucks, so there is always someone new to try! 3. parking is not bad at all.......... some weeks, you may have to walk a block or 2; other weeks, you get lucky and find a spot in the lot right next to the venue! but, over all its do able 4. Three tacos, chips, a couple sides of salsa. All the meat was cold. Not fridge cold, but noticeably below room temperature. I'm sitting five feet from the kitchen in a place that opened 30 minutes ago. How is that even possible? The non-beef tacos were seasoned well, both of them, that part was fine. The beef was where it fell apart. Every single bite had pieces I literally couldn't chew through, and I kept pulling chunks out of my mouth. After my second bite I just stopped going back for more. For over $4 a taco, that quality is atrocious. Very fast if you need something quick to eat. First and last time for me.
