The prices per board foot lumber here are really reasonable, and the selection is good as well. And if you want real Baltic Birch plywood, moldings, router bits and more, they have it. I highly recommend going to House of Lumber and checking out their inventory. And the folks there have always been really nice whenever I go there.

Today I drove here from Rancho Cucamonga in search of torque screws for a shed of mine. When my number came up, the tall guy with pimples and a goatee came over to me and just looked at me...no "hello" or "can I help you." I showed him the bolt I needed and even brought him a torque or star bit I preferred the bolts have the fitting for; I asked for six such bolt replacements. All while I was explaining what I needed, he was holding a conversation with someone else behind the counter. He returned from the back with one bolt a different length, a phillips head instead of a torque head, and no attention was given to my request that it be a flathead bolt. Generally, he treated me like crap. Maybe I am the wrong color or ethnicity for this place. He clearly showed me that he didn't give a damn about me as customer. I have several friends who frequent this place. I will be relating this experience to them; King Bolt might want to consider that those working at their counter represent them and the great quality of service they've been respected for over the years. One jerk really can negatively impact their hard-earned positive reputation.

Will definitely shop here and drive the extra miles just because it's such a friendly business. So when my brother told me that C&M had a good deal on a particular blank (that's the rod without any guides or reels attached yet, Mabel), I couldn't pass up the opportunity. So on a nice Saturday morning, I made the long drive out to San Dimas and... closed Saturdays due to COVID. Currently, they're operating on a three day mid-week 4 hour schedule. Not to be denied, I called on a Tuesday at 1:50ish, and Colleen said, "we close at 2." Thankfully, she offered to open up for me if I drove out again. Very cool. I arrived at 2:30 or so, and Colleen spent the time helping me put my project together: guides, reel seat, winding checks, EVA handles... appreciated the service. COVID's impact on their supply chain is notable, but it's affecting everyone, and you can't hold it against a small shop when their suppliers are hurting too. We're all in this together. In my haste to get out of the store, one of the handles didn't make it in the bag! However, my brother was in that area the next day and was able to pick it up... still right there on the counter. Wear your mask in the store, and note that this is a small storefront in a commercial/industrial park, so it's easy to miss.
