I did a return on a predator 9500 since it stopped working and Carol the store manager that day was amazing, I had to come back and continue the return in Sunday since the call center was closed on Saturday. I was a little nervous about leaving without a generator since I left the returned one, but once I came back on Sunday she instantly remembered me and was very helpful. I'm not a handyman. That's why I don't like going to big hardware stores like The Home Depot, because I wouldn't know where everything is and therefore, I would end up spending lot of time searching for things. I would much prefer Harbor Freight for its small size. Yesterday I needed to buy a hex key set to unclog my garbage disposal. I went to HF, found what I wanted, grabbed some padlocks, and walked out in under 15 minutes. I didn't have to ask the staff where to find the hex key sets. My set costs only $7.99, and I've already used it twice. Once to unclog my garbage disposal, and another time to tighten my fridge door handle. The store is nice and clean, well organized, and has a friendly staff. The woman greeted me when I walked in. The man who rang me up was pleasant without being overly friendly. I rarely need to buy hardware tools, but when I do need them, I would rather come here and avoid the big stores. read more

This past weekend I came here to pick up a couple One-Step Folding Stool in grey or white color. I normally don't shop at Harbor Freight Tools (HFT) so I didn't know where tools and stuff are located. I was running late on time and didn't want to waste any more time walking through the aisles, hence, I asked the staff for assistance. The lady was nice to direct me to the correct aisle. I only saw the stool in black color. I went back to the lady and asked if she can locate the stores that have the grey or white stools. She was kind to do a look up for me. Thanks for the extra attention and care! HFT in Commerce had 5 grey ones in stock. HFT in Culver City and Pasadena both had 1 white one, but no grey ones. You know what that means... I'm heading to Commerce LOL. Before doing so, I called HFT Commerce and spoke with a staff member to reserve 2 grey stools for me. They were willing to do so. That is what customer service is all about. Thank you! HFT has so many tools and stuff. Too bad I'm not much of a handy woman (but I can be if I need to be or I just pay the professionals to get the task done LOL), otherwise, this place would be fun to hang out at on a Sunday afternoon LOL. I just want to take a quick moment to share my positive experience with Robert at the Monrovia Harbor Freight store. I purchased a tool cart, foolishly thinking it would fit in my car and Robert was helpful by providing a few options that I can take. We both agreed that breaking down the box and itemizing each piece to load in my car would be more efficient and would render better luck instead of me l returning for an additional trip. He helped me unpack, load, and even offered to take the box and recycle it instead of me having to do it myself. During the time we were loading, he was professional, courteous, and friendly. He made my experience positive and this is the type of service I love to experience when purchasing. He did not accept my gratuity/tip but I'd like to make sure his efforts are recognized. Came here to buy some handy tools for the house and boy did they have a wide assortment to choose from. They have multiple brands at different price points to choose from for any need. Pittsburgh and Quinn were great deals imo compared to Home Depot and Lowe's branded items. Also HFT also carry Icon products which is their automotive brand that is also very good all around with awesome warranties. The employees are also very friendly and helpful. If you're ever in the area in need of tools, definitely skip depot and give HFT a try. read more

I recently came with my fiancé to look for some hardware here since good old Home Depot was jam packed. Unfortunately, they don't have a section for me where I could get lost like they do at Home Depot (and by that I mean the plant section), but if you need tools and some bare necessity hardware, this is the place for you. Their prices are also much more reasonable than Home Depot (plus if you get their catalog, there's usually a bonus coupon that you can use). We ended up walking out with some tarp, nails, caster wheels, and whatever else my fiancé came for. read more

Constant home improvement projects and dealing with rentals brought me here. HF sells mainly tools and equipment for construction, but also have other household smaller gadgets. It's very different from Home Depot as it's much smaller, don't have a gardening section, no paint department nor appliances. But they do carry things that HD don't: Generators of various HP, engine hoists or 6'ton car jacks just to name a few. The store is well lit and fairly clean. For basic items, prices are much better than Home Depot or other hardware stores. Often it's because they carry certain brands, not the well known ones found elsewhere. Can't speak for the quality of these brands but things seem to be well built. They always have newspaper inserts or ads almost weekly, and tons of coupons. I managed to find a few smaller household tools at a great price, even without a coupon. I'm not a contractor or a professional builder by trade, so I'm not an expert on tools. But Harbor Freight is a store I'll very likely return to when I need equipment for future projects. read more

I've always been a fan of Harbor Freight. They sell all sorts of things that support my myriad hobbies. Think of it like a toy store for tinkerers, without the high price tag. So when I need rope for building lobster and crab hoops, or small metal files to remove the barbs from fishing hooks, or a big ol' tarp for camping, or a ten-pack of cheap two-step epoxy to repair Christmas decorations, or a mag-mount trailer light set to tow a beater car from Hemet to Oxnard, or abrasive wheels to angle cut rebar or casters to make a table into a rolling table or ...to replace cheap screwdrivers that were swiped by my kids and used to dig in the back yard. The new store is a welcome addition to the area-- previously, my only options were Pasadena (which is great, but has a bad parking lot) and the store way down on Arrow Hwy which seems a little farther every subsequent trip. Unlike other stores that take your phone number and send you worthless coupons for things you don't buy, Harbor Freight Will send a regular catalog full of all sorts of cool boats, and other items that they sell. You can come here for construction twine, or you can come here to buy a generator... And just about everything in between. read more

We went to Harbor Freight and they had ads sitting out that said Black Friday Sale Now in big green letters. We purchased an item and they charged the full price. We didn't catch it right away. We called the store and they refused to honor the price of the ad they had sitting out. Not only is this bad business but it's also false advertising. Great deals but shitty Product knowledge by Employees. Was sold wrong battery for a power tool. Waste of time on my project having to return item. Next visit, I paid w/ $100.00 bill they didn't have change for. I found smaller bills to pay for my purchase. This place isn't like Pasadena's store. It's smaller and didn't have tools that I was looking for. They had tarps though. Not the top shelf in the size I needed. I had to get the cheap blue tarp in my size. What I liked about Dena is that the cashier's are always helpful to save you money. They have the fliers on the counter and know the coupon's to help you out. Duarte not so much. They asked if I had coupons and checked me out. Would I come back? Went there around 12:30pm on 7-28-20. Store is clean and they have most items in stock. I asked the guys for help to find a retrieving magnet so I can take my boys magnet fishing. They showed me the isle it should have been on but they were out of stock. They tried to find alternative items but I needed the 150lb to 250lb magnets. One guy called the Covina store and they had them in stock. So I paid for my items and headed off to Covina. Lady at the check out was nice and I noticed she cleaned the counter just before I placed my items down. I like going here and I hope they keep up the positive attitude and good service. Came in on my lunch break today, looking for a tool case for the back of my truck the Apache 4800 very kool great price picked up some other items along the way they have the outdoor Edison lights on special for 19.95 great deal also picked up a battery charger while I was there, not so good as I was being cashed out the cashier informed me that this item has a restocking fee, that sent up some red flags right away, and of course I ignored them got back to my shop and opened the box and I instantly regretted that purchase the quality was not there at all luckily the manager Joe helped out with a full refund of my money read more

I went in and bought a pressure washer for my dad as a gift. My dad wanted a different one so I drive back the next day to return it and I was charged a $16 restocking fee. I didn't say anything because it does no good however I do want to share this with others. The pressure washer was 20 feet away from the cashier when I bought it; it was in a box on the floor and Harbor Freight is going to charge $16 for restocking when I could have placed it back. This is one reason Amazon is such a huge business and will continue to succeed. No shipping charges, great prices and free returns - it can't get any better than that.
