If you need an honest, knowledgeable, and fairly priced auto repair shop near Gold River or Rancho Cordova, I'd definitely recommend them. They've worked on my 2017 Ford Transit Connect, 2014 Mercedes GL63, and 2014 BMW X5. They replaced a driver-side CV axle, did oil changes, replaced brake pads and rotors, diagnosed and fixed an A/C and heater blower issue, repaired a trunk/liftgate problem, and also replaced a valve cover and gasket and battery. What stood out to me most was how knowledgeable, honest, and fair Samson and his team were throughout the process. The staff are friendly, the front desk is welcoming, and the customer service has been great. It's hard to find a shop that does quality work at reasonable prices, but 916 Auto Repair has done that for me. Definitely recommended.

I contacted 916 Auto after doing a 2 and half week research (which included Yelp and Google…read moreReviews) to have my 2004 Mazda 3 AC Condenser (Factory OEM) replaced. My AC Drier was cracked and inoperable since last year. In this region of the Sacramento Valley and Placer County, 916 Auto quote beat 5 shops I contacted in the region and 1 shop even told me it's not worth it and I should get a new car. Bet if my car was a 69 Camaro, they'd do it. Why? Cause its a Classic Camaro. No matter the condition. Some shops don't want to work on Imports. But oh well. Their loss, not mine. I contacted 916 Auto and spoke to Samson to schedule an appointment and he said to come by that very same day. And so I drove from Roseville to Gold River that morning. Samson is honest & to the point. When he pulled my car in, he noticed a coolant leak. Now I didn't notice any leaks in my driveway, as it would seem the Coolant is evaporating or dissipating, but he notice it was getting on my Alternator, by the stains. It turns out, my OEM water pump (factory part since 2003 for this model year in 2004) finally gave out at 262K miles. Who'd ever think a Mazda/Ford part would last this long. This was an unexpected thought as I only had budgeted for the quote. So I called my CFO (Wife) and let her know of the issue. She said get it fixed and she'll adjust other expenses as she knows I need AC for the upcoming summer temps. So I authorized Samson to proceed with the entire job. Now I can't couldn't do any price comparison, but he did give me a discount which still fit in my overall budget. I spent my whole day in their lobby. They have updated their lobby to make it feel more comfortable and less Auto Shop feel. I notice the many people who drop by to have their car service are all happy and are returning customers. From a Dealership oil drain plug that was torqued too tight, to oil changes, brakes, and even a customer who was a bit upset where the Dealership sent the wrong part twice. The Dealership. I spoke to many of them and they all had the same answer when I ask. "What made you come here?" They replied, "Their price can't be beat!". In summary, my AC is now working as it should. Now I only used my AC for 2 whole days It gets cold and it has been awhile since I have felt cold in my aging car of 22 years. With my new water pump installed as well, my car is running smoother overall. Smoother shifts, heater gets warm fast. Almost, now almost like it was in 2004. So, Did I find a new shop for my Project Commuter Car? Yes I sure did. They have gotten a new customer. Up next is my Transmission Gasket & plug. One thing at a time! Have fun out there & do your research!

He told me how much the diagnostic cost would be and the charge would go towards the repair. His communication is great. I received a text reminder for my appointment and once he found out the problem, I received an email with the breakdown and photos of everything he checked out. He called me and he took the time to point out the repair and other issues that are arising. The charges were satisfactory plus he gave me a 10% military discount. I took it to a mechanic (No Name) here in CH and they billed me $210.00 and couldn't locate the issue, so I brought it home. Well, this past Saturday my car wouldn't start, so I was told by a very good friend that I take it to TN3 Automotive, which I did (Had my car towed) on Tuesday. I'd previously contacted the owner, Tom, informing him my car was being towed to his shop, and so he took basic information regarding what types of issues I'd been experiencing, which I provided. I met Tom the following day, and he was genial, kind, listened intently, and just a solid individual through & through. He exudes honesty & integrity, and assured me he'd locate the issue, and he did just that. The thoroughness of his Teams assessment of my vehicle, every part captured by clear photos that included a specific narrative of my car parts issue, and whether it was deemed an emergency fix, or just watch & keep an eye on it was noted, & reassuring. Not once did he advise that I needed this or that done to my vehicle, but clearly enunciated in line of priority things I should take care of. Ended up being a PGMFI Main Start Relay why my car wouldn't start. Out the door for $340.00. Car is running excellent!! I have very high expectations of service providers, and he exemplifies the highest of integrity & standards!! Tom is your guy, I challenge you to use he & his team's expertise, you will not be disappointed.

However, I brought my car in Wednesday to have them check the A/C (only due to Speedee not having an A/C mechanic). It was not always blowing cold when I switched the re-circulate button. They fixed it and added freon, but forgot to inform me that the coolant resevoir holder may be leaking/seeping, as it has coolant stuck to the outside (owner of Speedee pointed this out to me weeks ago). I could've gotten that fixed! Even though they quoted me over $650! So, I get my car (they had locked it up indoors even though it wasn't 5:30 yet) and it is filthy w/grease stains on my front sets and driver door! They obviously didn't use seat covers, paper for the floor boards or even shoe covers or gloves. Dang! Even Speedee uses seat covers and floor mat covers. I'll be looking for a new mechanic spot now. A family owned business that takes better care of their clients cars. I've NEVER received my vehicle back lke that before. Unacceptable!!!

Decent Work, But Communication and Pricing Left a Bad Taste…read more I'll give them this much: the brake repair on my 2001 Ford Ranger was solid. They did good work getting me stopping again, and their assessment of the other deferred repairs the truck needs was thorough and informative. But two major issues bring this down. The Communication Problem Chris from the service desk kept saying he'd call or email me with updates -- and then... nothing. Left me hanging more than once. I shouldn't have to chase down answers about my own vehicle. That's basic customer service. The Pricing This is where I have real concerns. I had my regular mechanic look at the same itemized report. AAA Citrus Heights Auto Repair Center charged 66% more than my trusted guy for the same work. Here's the thing -- my truck wasn't drivable. The brakes failing made it unsafe. When a customer is in that position, they don't have much leverage to shop around. That puts us in a vulnerable spot, and the pricing feels predatory as a result. The One Bright Spot They did honor my Veterans discount -- 10% off a roughly $1,500 bill. I appreciate that, and the staff who applied it were professional. Bottom Line The actual repair work was good. The assessment was thorough. But the communication failures and what feels like opportunistic pricing mean I won't be going back -- and I can't in good conscience recommend them without caveats.
