I LOVE this shop so much I want to live here! I went in for a succulent workshop and was politely greeted by the wonderfully helpful and friendly ladies at the shop. Molly taught the workshop and it was such a treat. She has such an ease and grace about her that makes everything fun and she is gorgeous (Molly Sim's twin). Can I be Molly when I grow up? The shop that she created is so full of beauty and inspiration and all packed into a little store. I wanted everything in there! In fact, I walked away with a beautiful clock that I saw at the register when I was paying for my succulents and had to have. I tried to have some willpower so I walked away just to come back bright and early the next morning to buy it. The shop is full of hand picked, unique home items that are reasonably priced. Think Roger's Garden but smaller and more curated and a little more hip than traditional. I highly suggest the succulent class which is such a fun group activity if you bring some friends and make an afternoon out of it. Molly provides wine, snacks and the whole team is so hospitable and welcoming. Can't wait to take another class. read more

So very sad. Found them on IG with their fancy posts. Drove 2 1/2 hours to encounter rude , arrogant staff. Miserable to be at work. Now let's talk about pricing?!! Love, love, Love this place. It is a hidden gem in a perfectly curated lush green setting. I can spend hours here. I love their one of a kind pieces. It shows that a lot of love and thought has gone into selecting the products, curating them and bringing them to the customers. All the little nooks and corners of this entire store, both indoor and outdoor are very elegant and gracefully decorated. It is like a design concept store where they take the products and plants beyond the shelf and show how they can be placed, hung or incorporated in your home/ office setting. You can purchase already made lovely designed plants in pots or you can pick your pots and your plants and accoutrements and they will put it together beautifully. I selected Molly Wood for my home landscaping when construction for my home was was just being completed. What a mistake! I explained what I wanted which was soft plant colors and design as my house was contemporary with sharp lines. When she was ready to plant, she told me that she selected plants that were very masculine for my house. What! My only request was the exact opposite! The worst part was her reaction. She was arrogant and inflexible but did switch out some of the plants albeit reluctantly. Eventually, she walked off the job and turned it over to an assistant to finish. I later heard that this overall experience and sequence happens frequently. On top of poor taste and her arrogance, Molly over-planted Everyone I know who has used her landscape design and planting for their house has had poor experiences. Finally, I have my yard how I like it due to working around the fiasco of working with Molly Wood. read more

First let me say I was never actually able to have work done by Molly Wood Garden Design as we tried calling several times about having a complete design done, left messages, spoke with her assistant Maggie (who informed me that my message was still on Molly's desk and that's where we stand!? then kind of huffed a little bit and said it is a really busy time so what do I want to do??? Yikes) Strange attitude for a business right? I mean, I am calling you to ask to pay you for your services and I get the impression I am putting you out? Not a good first impression which is a bummer because she is clearly talented! They just need help on the business side I think and maybe an attitude adjustment... It will only take a little while for clients to catch on and look elsewhere which is what we are doing... People are not looking to pay for that type of treatment. read more

I called Molly Wood in mid-June because I needed a few flower beds touched up before a party in late July. I had to wait three weeks for an appointment with a consultant. Then I paid $150 on the spot for her to look at my garden and prepare a quote. I went without a receipt b/c I seemed to like her and she listened to what I had envisioned. I had also heard good things about their work from a friend. But when the proposal came in over a week later, I was shocked. When I asked what they could do within my budget, I was quickly forgotten about. They were unable to adapt or modify the project, even when I was willing to leave out some of the garden beds. For the fee I paid, I was not provided with a plant list or a drawing. Upon my request, I did receive pictures of three plants I would get. But every time I called for more information, it took days for them to get back to me, and my event was now quickly approaching. I asked for my $150 back or store credit and left several messages for a manager to call me back... but that never happened. Here's the explanation as to what happens to the $150 if you don't use their services: you get hosed! Only call if you've got tens of thousands to spend. Then they will probably do a nice job and you'll get great treatment. They are not for those who have small projects under $2000. read more

Molly Wood Garden Design did a fabulous job designing and installing my front yard. Molly and her team listened to my needs and provided a design with photos of plants for my approval. I am a control freak, but I decided to get them full control and the project turned out great. Lots of complements. The crew was on time and very neat (a big plus) and in two and 1/2 days, I had a great looking beautiful garden. Her retail shop on Orange is so cute too. Love going there to see what latest "finds" she has discovered. read more

I shop at the Laguna Beach store and Taryn and Jackie are always so sweet and helpful. They both do a great job of putting together beautiful arrangements in the shops cool selection of planter/containers. When I can't find what I'm looking for they call the other store to check on their stock in Costa Mesa and contact me promptly when my items arrive. read more

Great products when someone pays attention and follows through to respond to customer inquiries. My husband and I have called several times to inquire about outdoor chaise as viewed on the website. We also wanted to know the product name of our outdoor table and chairs we have purchased from Molly Wood Design. They have no record. Frustrating to deal with this company over the phone. read more
