I stumbled upon this shop today after dining at Plums Cafe and I was beyond impressed. The interior design is impeccable and there are so many interesting finds. My wife truly wanted to bring her mom here, so we spontaneously ended up going there on mom's day (so glad my wife thought of it.) So I drove three wonderful ladies (ma in law, daughter, and wife) here to mill around the store. They enjoyed taking everything in and of course picked a few things out. They have very cool quality items and the ladies were treated well. When you spend money, walk out with a grin, and look forward to coming back, you must know it was a good experience. We enjoy supporting local businesses who are bringing in items people want. It was good to meet people who are happy with their shop. There are still so many fun experiences that are well worth getting out of the house especially with people you enjoy... just so much more real than merely online ordering. I had a family member undergoing medical treatment at Little Company of Mary Hospital in San Pedro. Called the hospital and asked if they had a nearby floors they could recommend and immediately they responded with Fleur de Lys. I called and spoke with the owner. She could not have been nicer and more confident that some already freshly prepared arrangements would be perfect for same-day delivery. Normally I like to see an arrangement style before I send it but I trusted her judgment. Absolutely, 150% on target, it was beautiful, everybody loved it, delivered quickly and reasonable cost. This is a high-priced tourist shop. There are some interesting pieces here, from soaps to paperweights to dining ware. We were waiting for the restaurant next door to open up, so we decided to walk in and window shop. There's nothing there that I would buy. However, my wife found some nice Christmas tree ornaments, odd little things shaped like Chinese takeout boxes that she would be hard pressed to find elsewhere. read more

I love this store. Unique quality items at a great value!!! Very nice and helpful staff with great knowledge of the product. I never knew the difference between a quality candle the cheap one until they explained it to me and tried it out (lasted WAY longer and was 100 times more fragrant). I've never shopped here before and now I know why! My friend is always so generous with her birthday gifts and this was exactly my taste, but I just don't need another serving bowl. When I looked up the location of the store, I was thrilled to see they carry a brand of bags I was wanting. Although more pricey, I'd gladly pay the difference. Upon entering the store, I handed the unused gift with tags attached to a sales associate and they asked for the purchasers name. I explained it was a gift and whispered her name as I wouldn't want her feelings hurt and this town is small! The associate must have been new as she asked for help from another that immediately said this gift wasn't bought by my friend and that I'd have to take it back. Incidentally, they never asked for the spelling of her name or a phone number, just said somebody else must have bought it. Huh?! So, she was insinuating my friend regifted which isn't her style at all, but even if she did, they are unused, tagged items purchased at the store. I've owned a retail store prior and the lack of customer service during this interaction really left me speechless. I'll gladly purchase the more expensive item elsewhere and I'll risk her feelings being a little hurt, as I can't wait to tell my friend the story so she won't shop here again. read more

I didn't want to go empty handed so I went to this store thinking I would find something else. It was nothing but a bunch of junk so I got what I thought was the best. I didn't want to go empty handed. After thinking about it. I was embarrassed to take what I purchased. I found out that the gift I originally purchased elsewhere was being delivered the next day. I went back to the store to return what I got. I was less than 12 hours later and I was told I would only get store credit! I had the gift still Wrapped my receipt and they would Not budge. Seeing kitchenwares in the windows of Fleur De Lys, I knew this would be a stop we'd need to make right after our scrumptious brunch We totally lucked into their semiannual sale & found a multitude of wonderful, fun, & whimsical items to decorate the home, kitchen, & body In addition to cookbooks, dishes, measuring cups / ladles & the like, they have fun, frilly aprons & were I a cook, wouldn't have been able to pass these up We found a cool honey-scented lotion as well as an eau de toilette & a cool picture frame. We also discovered a new-to-us artsy piece called Spiritiles...... which we learned are copper & fused glass & the designs have fun, witty, & inspirational sayings on them. We got 1 w/ a coffee cup since we have a coffee theme in the kitchen & there was another Xmas tree w/ a quote from Marilyn Monroe about everyone deserving the chance to sparkle ( or something like that ) Totally cool & collectible & these babies have a limited production so if you see one you like, better grab it! Picture frames were all larger in variety ( didn't see any 2X3, 4X6, etc... ) but we found a great 5X7 that fit our needs Also saw what looked to be a super cool jewelry section that we did not get a chance to peruse but next time for sure! People were incredibly friendly & we talked about how awesome the brunch place next door was, how awesome the food is in SF & what a great weekend it was & we can definitely say it was made all the better by our visit to Fleur De Lys! read more

I love Fleur De Lys...they have the cutest stuff! I've gotten some great things over the years...marked down 'natch. They had the most adorable Santa placemats and linens marked down 30%. Huh? It's the middle of January..shouldn't Christmas stuff be marked down 50%-75%-90% by now? I would have bought them if they had been 50%. Maybe I'll come back next month to see if they are any further markdowns. This boutique has the most adorable gift items for the bath and kitchen. I love this shop! A good friend of mine turned me on to it a couple of years ago, before they expanded, and it was brilliant then and now there is even more of it to love! I don't know about you all, but I get really tired of the "same-ness" of big store retail offerings. What a cute shop! We meant to browse while waiting for a breakfast table next door, but when we got seated right away, we decided to take a stroll inside after. I could have stayed much longer, looking at every little item, but the boyfriend started to look antsy. I'd definitely make a stop at Fleur's when you're out in Costa Mesa. At first, I thought Fleur's would be a girly but not that interesting kind of shop. You know where items have been sitting around for awhile (eons maybe) and you can just tell they'll never get sold? Well.. Fluer's is not that place. It's this awesome mash-up of edgy, geeky, girly, trendy, and practical. It's got the right type of mix to make any girly thing interesting. Check out their hand washing station in the back ... test out their soaps. Or their bathroom, kitchen, and living setup which abounds in fantastic looking (and strange) pillows, soaps (shaped in dogs!), posters, stickers and awesome kitchenware designs from JosephJoseph! I told myself I wouldn't get anything..but I ended up grabbing a "Cute Girl Discount" birthday card for an upcoming bday. Perfect! My friends & I spent about an hour here just gathering ideas and being fascinated. We took lots of pictures of what our future home would look like (my hubby called me when I was there and I told him I was going to paint one of our rooms fuschia. lol. It's easy to spend an hour in this store browsing all the different wares, perusing through the pages of the books, taking in the wonderful scents of the candles and chatting with the uber-friendly staff. Came here with a bunch of friends before Sunday brunch, and was quite delighted by this place! So many eclectic/independent stuff to find at this place, ranging from cards and gifts, to soaps and creams, to even novelty cooking items! This is a great place to find that perfect give for someone, as they have quite a bunch of stuff. There are quite a bit of innovative items, such as hand mittens to "scrape" the skin off vegetables, and salad tongs that fit into their bowl.
