I am singing Dr. Calvin's praises today. He's done my routine eye exams for many years and always been very pleasant and thorough. I'd leave thinking I'd be back in a year. Well, everything changed a few weeks ago when my vision in one eye suddenly went wonky. Dr. Calvin's office gave me an emergency appt. I was floored when, after the exam, he spent over 20 minutes explaining everything that was happening. His explanations were so clear, and his compassion was so great, that I left thinking he was truly amazing. I was so grateful for his knowledge and demeanor. A follow-up appt today just confirmed my thoughts about Dr. Calvin. While it's good to have a doctor for the routine things, it's imperative that you can trust that doctor when something goes wrong. And that describes Dr. Calvin (and his wonderful staff). I highly recommend him! read more

He brought in his wife, Dr. Dorothy Calvin, pediatric ophthalmologist, to help with the precision of the prescription. What a fantastic team. They spent time to get all the data they needed. I'll give you an extra star for responding to a review I posted 4 years ago, and for firing the incredibly rude and asinine person who worked in your front office. Was there a HIPAA violation in my exchange with her? No. I would not let her handle my records because from what I heard coming out of her mouth she is a walking HIPAA liability. Asking me for personal information surrounding my past pregnancy and childbirth, then "threatening" to refuse me service now if I don't, Refuse service. Fine. I gladly went somewhere else. But don't respond to my post with a defense blaming the insurance companies. I'm a Medical Records Manager for goodness sake! (*rolls eyes). The point is, you have/had (past or present tense, I don't know because I would never go there after that experience) a really poor employee as the first line of communication for quite some time. Terrible , terrible experience in the office staff, Caroline is the most unprofessional person in office , Dr Scott and his wife don't know half of how she has treated their patients, I bring my whole family here and they love to see Scott , but his staff starting with this Caroline is bad. Caroline was so rude , even in front of my children, that they were scared. I would not recommend this office to anyone, every time I asked to talk to Dr.Scott , she will not give him any messages!! Our family used Dr. Scott for a few years, but never feeling confortable with the front desk, especially with Carolin. This lady apparently has anger issues it's her way or the high way. Definitely a cancer to his office. We had a terrible experience with this office all the way around. Dr. Scott should invest a few dollars on his staff to learn how to deal with customers because at the end we are the ones that bring the business and it's a simple operation rule. Nothing is more gratifying and special than having great care and service. Dr. Scott and his collective team staff were outstanding in every shape and form. They all were professional and respectful, but more... they are all good. Dr. Scott is perhaps one of the best person you will ever met. He gave me full details of my condition, he he listened, and amazingly he is well respected and polite to you. High bedside manners where you felt not as another patient but someone important to him. I would definitely encourage those that need eye service to make am appointment with him. You wont regret it and you will leave happy and satisfied. While the outcome of the cataract surgery for my dad on his first eye was good, the office is poorly run. We waited for 2 hours at the surgical center and all of the patients in the waiting room had the same experience. We are here now for the second eye and once again over 2 hour wait!!! Obviously the staff has a scheduling issue. What it feels like to me is that trey would rather have the patient wait 2 hours than having the dr wait 5 minutes. If it weren't so difficult for me to reschedule I would do that or find another doctor. !!! read more

Terrible staff and incompetent doctor. It takes them over a week to call in a prescription to the pharmacy after you have to call them 5 times a day to remind them. The doctor is always out of town..very very unreliable. read more

I took my son to Dr. Calvin years ago and he was terrific. I saw him for myself last week. He was kind, patient, competent and thorough as was the woman who did the refraction. It took three weeks to get the appointment but it was worth the wait. read more

I take my daughter here and decided to go myself. Staff was amazing, even helped me when I couldn't locate my insurance card. They came up with another solution right away...They looked in my daughters chart! :) Dr Scott was amazing and even though I had routine appointment he took the time to explain, in detail, what is going on with my eyes. I highly recommend Dr Calvin. I had ongoing issues with dry eyes and blurry vision. He was very thorough in his examination and explanations of possible treatments. He takes a conservative approach and follows up. Office staff is great with prescriptions, insurance, etc read more

This was my first visit to this Doctor, but I never got in to see him. When I arrived on time for my appointment, there were already 2 people waiting, one whose appointment was 1/2 hour before mine and one whose appointment was 15 minutes before mine. This indicated at least a 1/2 to 3 quarter hour wait. However, this doctor requires that you sign away your constitutional right to a jury trial and use arbitration or not be seen. Although the office staff said they knew this was illegal, they said the doctor would not see me without the signature. Since I won't agree to arbitration which is weighted on the side of the doctor and his insurance, who win approximately 97% of cases, I was forced to leave. If they had told me when I made the appointment, they could have saved me a 60 mile trip. read more

Very nice office staff. Dr. Calvin is extremely competent and takes his time, I didn't feel rushed at all. He gave me a new prescription and his optician was very helpful. In about 10 days I had new glasses and am seeing better than I have in several years. I have VSP which his office takes. Easy to get an appointment. read more

My daughter was recently seen by Dr. Calvin. We were very happy with the visit. Dr. Calvin is very knowledgable, he took his time with our appointment, we were not rushed at all, and the added plus is that he is great with kids!! My daughter was very nervous prior to her appointment and Dr. Calvin put her at ease showing care and concern.
